While driving on a freeway for about 15 minutes at 65 MPH, the MIL indicator started blinking. The vehicle began to rapidly shake, while the engine power decreased significantly. The engine dramatically went from 65 mph to 35 mph causing a safety hazard while driving on the freeway as we attempted to exit and pull over safely. The vehicle is a 2021 Acura RDX and is driven approximately 10,000 miles per year. All maintenance has been performed in accordance with the manufacturer's schedule. It has not been involved in any collisions or other user risk other than normal driving in accordance with the approved use of the vehicles. Upon trying to restart the vehicle, the vehicle continues to violently shake while in park. Notification lights indicating Brake Failure, AWD failure, Check Emissions System, etc. There were no other indicators that there was an issue with the vehicle prior to this instance on 4/20/2024. In fact, the vehicle was viewed by Cerritos Acura for its regularly schedule service on 4/10/2024 and no issues were identified by the dealer. As far as safety, we were traveling with two young children and the location of the freeway did not have a safe place to pull over. The sudden reduction in speed also put us in risk with surrounding vehicles. This appears to be related to TSB 20-053, however, no communication have been identified or communicated by the dealers to the the owner/operator of the vehicle.

In March, I made an appointment at Lehigh Valley Acura in Emmaus, PA 18049, to address NHTSA Recall Number 23V-751 on my 2019 Acura MDX. When I got to the appointment on April 12, 2024, the service technician told me that American Honda will only send parts for recall-related repairs for cases where the "vehicle is showing evidence of the connecting rod bearing defect." Since the evidence of the defect is that the car could "stall while driving," I believe this sounds like a defect that should be addressed immediately. I called American Honda on April 15, 2024, and was told that they don't have sufficient parts to fix all the vehicles covered by the recall. The person I spoke to said that we would get a letter in the mail when it is our turn. I believe this is negligence on the part of American Honda and Lehigh Valley Acura. How do I get this defect addressed immediately?

  • Failed components: STEERING

At 10k miles, my '23 acura integra, made a strange noise, coming from the rear passenger tire. Sounded like a few rocks went around the wheel. There were no rocks in the road, so i parked & checked my tire sensor on the dash & the rear passenger tire sensor read as "--" instead of the pressure number. I got out, took a look, there was nothing visibly wrong. After leaving work, i checked the tire again, nothing visibly wrong. I left the parking lot, drove maybe 2mins down the road & the tire sensor number came back on & read "35" this time. So i thought nothing of it. A few days later, i noticed the steering wheel felt different. Again, not visually but physically. The steering wheel sticks requiring an abnormal amount of effort to steer the vehicle in the desired direction. It started out noticeably on highways or freeways at accelerated speeds but now that i'm at 17k, it is noticeable at any speed on any road, especially if i'm driving straight for a long period of time, moving the steering wheel ever so slightly requires way too much force which can cause over correction while trying to maintain my lane. It is also very noticeable when driving on a curve & trying to steer the wheel back to the center. It feels like it gets stuck in "notches" that you have to force into the direction you need it to go. It makes driving incredibly a daunting task & also feels extremely unsafe to drive. I feel like i'm forced to drive with two hands at all times & really grip the wheel which leads to my hands & wrists becoming strained. That's not normal at all! I literally think about the "sticky steering" the whole entire time i'm driving. It's not fun & i love driving. When i drive my husband's '23 kia stinger, i don't even think about this issue. I hadn't noticed that i didn't think about it until i drove his car for an extended time & then got back in my integra the same day. There needs to be a recall before someone dies!
