My 2015 RDX lowbeam headlight getting dimmer gradually. It is too dim to the level of undrivable at night. I replaced the light bulb, but it doesn't help. It almost cause a collison that the opponent car from side of road can not see the light.
Massive consumption of oil2 qts every 1000 miles
The contact owns a 2015 Acura RDX. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed during the evening hours, the contact noticed that the front headlights were not functioning properly. Multiple occasions the brake collision senor activates without an obstacle in site. The car would spontaneously brake as the warning sensor flashes on the dashboard. No resulting crash, but a few close incidents.
This vehicle was sold 4. 10 with an issue commonly referred to as sticky steering. A bulletin went out july 2023 (23-037) directing dealers to replace the electronic power steering gearbox with a new one. Sticky steering occurs at most speeds. The steering has what i can best describe as pixelated movements rather than smooth. When you are trying to maintain control while driving straight or turn the wheel slightly it seems to jump to the next notch instead of slide smoothly. This often results in slight overcorrection and is very scary at higher speeds or in thicker traffic. You have to fight the steering wheel to maintain control. This condition is extremely dangerous and causes the car to pull to either side with diminished control of the steering.
Paint. Delaminating at the sealer. Paint flakes randomly fall off car over the years. Acura verified this was a factory defect and the common area is occurred was the roof. This was covered for my car 03. 2019 under an extended warranty but was only limited to the roof. I specifically asked to fix the whole paint job since this was a factory defect and they stated they will only fix the area with the current damage. Well now time has passed and this has now happened on my left passenger door and acura will not cover any part of fixing their factory defect. Terrible on acura for selling a product they know has a factory defect and they will not stand by their product.
The contact owns a 2020 acura tlx. The contact stated that his daughter was driving and was stopped at a traffic signal, when the signal turned green the vehicle in front began to move forward but abruptly stopped. The contact's daughter crashed into the rear bumper of the vehicle at approximately 2 mph. The seat belt pretensioner was activated on the driver's side seat belt. The contact stated that his daughter was not aware of any warning lights. The contact stated that his daughter was unhurt, the other vehicle drove away with no damage. The police were not called. The contact stated that his daughter was pinned in the seat by the seat belt but was able to unbuckle. She then turned the hazard lights on. The contact stated that he arrived and he saw that the hazard lights were dim and when he attempted to start the vehicle it was not starting. The contact had the vehicle towed to a collision repair shop. The contact stated that he contacted a local dealer to source the part and was told the part was unavailable. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed. The failure mileage was unknown.
There are two parts to this complaint. The issue regarding the transmission is potentially a safety issue and could result in an accident, while the peeling paint problem is already addressed in the Acura Service Bulletin 19-029 for VINs other than mine. Both are well documented problems that have been experienced by other 2016 Acura MDX owners. The transmission issue is an intermittent problem while accelerating and decelerating. There is a abrupt hesitation, or surging. While coating down a steep hil, the transmission will stay in gear at very high revs instead of shifting. These are an annoyance, but the acceleration problem could cause someone to hit the car from behind in heavy traffic situations. Some individuals note on the internet that their engines would accually stall when accelerating. I have brought my vehicle into the Acura Dealership on a number of occasions without the problem being resolved. The paint issue involves the white diamond pearl paint coming off the roof and is already addressed in Acura Service Bulleting 19-029. It is unthinkable that only some VINs are covered while others are not, if the same exact problem seems to exist on non-listed VINs. Honda Motor Company indicated that they would not add additional VINS unless directed to by NHTSA. Please have Honda extend the warranty on ALL 2016 Acura MDX models with the same problem.
My rear back windshield shattered while the car was parked for no reason. The acura rep told me that the back windshields that we installed with faulty and had sent out a bulletin but i never received this bulletin. Acura is trying to not pay for the back windshield and trying my make me go through my insurance to get it fixed. This happened on 4/7/2024.
