TL THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 Acura MDX. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V060000 (FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED AT DALLAS ACURA (4801 LEMMON AVE, DALLAS, TX 75219, (214) 692-2872), BUT THE REMEDY FAILED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED AFTER THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.

At 80,000 miles car started making a noise sounding like metal spinning on metal. Transmission system problem light came on. Rpms went really high when i took my foot off the gas the rpms went really low. This all happened while i was on the highway. Pulled over, shut car off, restarted car, warning light went away rpms were fine but the noise was still there. Took car in for service they couldn? T find any problem had transmission fluid replaced and the noise went away however occasionally the transmission system problem would occur. So i shut off the car restart and the problem goes away. Seems the transmission problem happens when i? M on the highway and going up hill between 60 and 70 miles an hour when the rpms go slightly above two. It does not seem to happen on level ground. I do mostly city driving and put another 50,000 miles on since the first time the problem happened. Took car in for service while the light was on, diagnostic shows torque converter problem. They tell me i need a new transmission. Apparently 2016 models you cannot rebuild because there are no parts available. Still driving car today with no problem doing city driving but i always panic when i have to get on the highway. Apparently i? Ve gone 60,000 miles more with a transmission that cannot go on a highway uphill. Just recently my car is been going into neutral by itself and it stalls occasionally. This happens while i? M driving. I feel very unsafe but i don? T have the money to replace my transmission. I wish the torque converter could be replaced but there are no parts available. I believe acura is not admitting to a problem

Purchased the car 7/6/2019 used with 26,943 miles. At 27,961 miles i was driving on the freeway in stop and go traffic. Pressed on the accelerator after a stop and the car jerked and i heard a loud "clunk". Warning lights appeared for "transmission system problem" and "blind spot warning malfunction". The car seemed to stay in first or second gear as i slowly exited the freeway at high rpm. Had it towed to the acura dealer. Transmission replaced as a result.

Sunroof exploded - driving vehicle around 60mph on misty rainy overcast day. All of a sudden sunroof shatters (no car around for rock or pebble projection).

TL THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 Acura MDX. WHILE DRIVING 75 MPH, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED TO 45 MPH AND THE EMISSION, ALL WHEEL DRIVE, TRANSMISSION, AND BLIND SPOT WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FOX ACURA (4330 29TH ST SE, GRAND RAPIDS, MI 49512, (616) 942-8040) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SOFTWARE NEEDED TO BE UPDATED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,000.

The engine auto stop or idle stop is a safety hazard. The engine shuts off preventing a quick acceleration from an intersection or other hazard. The manufacture should offer a method to permanently disable this hazard. I was nearly t-boned when trying to make a lh turn at a busy intersection because the car had to start before accelerating

MY 2016 Acura MDX. STALLED TWICE. BOTH TIMES IN START AND STOP TRAFFIC WHEN STOPPED THE CYLINDER DEACTIVATION ENGAGED, HOWEVER THEN THE POWER WENT OUT COMPLETELY WITHOUT WARNING, IT TOOK ABOUT 5-10 MIN THEN THE PUSH TO START WORKED AND THE CAR RESTARTED. AFTER THE FIRST STALL WE TOOK IT ACURA, HOWEVER THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG. I AM WRITING THIS REPORT AFTER THE SECOND STALL TODAY.

I have experienced stalling at low speeds and higher speeds. When slowing down by taking the foot off the gas (coasting sometime) and when gas pedal is pressed, the car seems to have a transmission stall. You can press the gas pedal to the floor and after a momentary stall, the transmission catches back up and regains power. Very dangereous for intersections and interstate driving. 7-18-19 was the last date to experience this occurance. I have taken the car for service at acura and they assurued me the computer update was done and no other issues should occur. Many have occurred since that update.

I AM HAVING CONTINUAL ISSUES WITH THE INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM (RADIO, AIR CONDITIONING, NAVIGATION, ETC.). THE ISSUES HAVE CONTINUED TO WORSEN OVER TIME DURING MY SHORT TIME OF OWNERSHIP. THE ISSUES INCLUDE, THE ENTIRE OPERATING SYSTEM FREEZING, THE NAVIGATION SCREEN NOT ALTERNATING BETWEEN DAYTIME AND NIGHTTIME BACKGROUNDS (WHICH CAUSES VISION ISSUES IN THE EVENINGS - IT IS CURRENTLY STUCK ON DAY WHICH IS BRIGHT), THE BACK-UP CAMERA STAYING ON WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE FORWARD (THIS INCLUDES ALMOST UP TO 2 MILES AT ONE POINT), THE SYSTEM COMPLETELY TURNING OFF WHILE DRIVING AND NOT TURNING BACK ON, AND THE SYSTEM TRYING TO REBOOK CONITNUOUSLY WHILE DRIVING MULTIPLE TIMES AND NOT ABLE TO REBOOT. THERE HAVE NOW BEEN TWO TIMES WHERE I NEED TO PULL OFF THE ROAD, TURN THE CAR OFF, AND TURN IT BACK ON TO GET THE INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM BACK ON AND TO BE ABLE TO FUNCTION. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP AND ACURA CLIENT RELATIONS I WOULD STILL HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE OTA. NO OTHER OPTIONS OR RESOLUTIONS ARE AVAILABLE OR BEING OFFERED. I HAVE MADE REQUESTS TO THE DEALERSHIP AND DIRECTLY TO ACURA CLIENT RELATIONS TO HAVE THE SYSTEM REPLACED AS IT HAS BECOME A SAFETY ISSUE. ACURA CLIENT RELATIONS STATED THEY WOULD NOT OFFER THAT AS AN OPTION. WHILE MY CAR WAS BEING LOOKED AT PREVIOUSLY, I WAS GIVEN ANOTHER Acura MDX ON TWO OCCASSIONS AND DID NOT HAVE THE SAME ISSUES I AM EXPERIENCING WITH THE MDX THAT I OWN. I ASKED TO BE ESCALATED TO THE NEXT LEVEL OF LEADERSHIP AND I WAS INFORMED THAT EVEN IF MY ESCALATION REQUEST WERE TO BE REVIEWED, THE MANAGER HAS THE RIGHT WHETHER OR NOT THEY WOULD RESPOND. THIS WAS INAPPROPRIATE AS IT IS DISCOURAGING CONSUMERS IN TRYING HAVE THEIR CONCERNS HEARD. AT THIS POINT, AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO. D/B/A ACURA C/O ACURA IS NOW AVOIDING CONSUMERS TRYING TO GET THESE ISSUES RESOLVED.

Three times while travelling on the interstate my vehicle suddenly shifted into second gear while i was trying to accelerate, and got stuck there. It suddenly dropped my speed from 70 mph to 30. I was presented with several alerts on my dash (emissions failure, sh-awd failure, transmission failure). I was able to continue driving at 30 mph until i could get to a safe area. After i turned off the vehicle and waited for a period of time the warnings would clear. I was finally able to get the vehicle to a dealership while the warnings were present. I was told after diagnosis that the transmission software needed to be updated. After the update the problem has not presented itself again. I was told software updates are not covered under warranty unless they are a recall issue.

The front windshield is distorted on the right and left side. The distortion makes it hard to see things clearly and makes me feel dizzy when driving. It's like looking through an hourglass. There have been several times i have had difficulty parking because of this issue. I almost hit a car in a parking lot because of it.

THE FRONT WINDSHIELD IS DISTORTED ON BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE, PILLAR AREAS. WHEN LOOKING THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD AT THESE POINTS, THE GLASS IS EXTREMELY DISTORTED AND CAUSES NAUSEA. THIS PORTION OF THE GLASS IS UNAVOIDABLE AS YOU NEED TO VIEW THE ENTIRE WINDSHIELD IN ORDER TO CHECK FOR PEDESTRIANS, VEHICLES, OR OTHER OBJECTS. IT APPEARS THIS IS A FLAW WITH MANY OF THE 2019 Acura MDX'S AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED APPROPRIATELY.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. A DIAGNOSTIC APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED WITH ACURA OF FREMONT (LOCATED AT 5700 CUSHING PKWY, FREMONT, CA 94538, (510) 431-2500). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,000.

I was driving 80mph southbound on 45 in houston, texas on sunday, may 26, 2019, during memorial day traffic. Without notice, my car began to ding and stated to? Stop driving?. It also showed a transmission error and parking brake error. In addition, the car shifted into neutral automatically, disabled the gas pedal and i was unable to reengage drive. At this time, the highway i was on was under construction with cement walls on both sides with no shoulder. I was able to coast to the nearest exit and leave the highway. Once off the highway, i restarted my car and was still unable to put it in drive.

PURCHASED A CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED Acura MDX DEC. 30, 2018. SINCE OWNING THE VEHICLE WE HAVE EXPERIENCED 3 EPISODES OF VEHICLE LOSING FORWARD THROTTLE WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. 2 EPISODES OCCURRED WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PASS ANOTHER VEHICLE. IT IS AS IF THE CAR GOES INTO NEUTRAL. THERE ARE NO ERROR MESSAGES OR ENGINE SHUT OFF. WITHIN 10-15 SECONDS THE TRANSMISSION ENGAGES. AFTER EACH INCIDENT WE HAVE BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO OUR LOCAL ACURA DEALERSHIP. P2638 CODE IS GENERATED WITH EACH INCIDENT. THEY CANNOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THEY HAVE UPDATED THE SOFTWARE AND COMPLETED ALL THE LATEST RECALLS. CORPORATE HAS BEEN NOTIFIED AND WE HAVE A CASE NUMBER. EACH TIME THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN RETURNED TO US TELLING US IT IS SAFE TO DRIVE. CORPORATE REFUSES TO HELP AND ASSURES US IT IS SAFE. THE MOST RECENT EPISODE MAY 19,2019 HAPPENED AFTER THE DEALERSHIP HAD OUR VEHICLE FOR 2 WEEKS.

Transmission shifting hard. I also hear and feel a grinding sound. When shifting on the lower gears, it shifts hard. I have read that there is a bulletin on this but no recall yet. There have been many complaints. Bulletin tsb no. 15-054. How many complaints are needed before a recall is issued?

Breaking light goes on and the brake gets stuck and makes a grasping noise like something is grinding and the pedal is stuck down.

The anti collision system is defective and it's putting my family at risk. It slams on breaks by itself without any obstacle in front. It started happening more and morr frequently. Called the acura dealrship and they claim it's normal and the car would break for any perceived obstacle in front of it.

Note that the following problems have been occurring frequently since i purchased the car in october 2017; the date required below was a random date i chose. When accelerating quickly to enter a highway, the transmission hesitates before deciding which gear to jump into. This also occurs, to a lesser extent, when i have to stomp on the gas in an emergency situation while on the highway. This is extremely dangerous since it makes me vulnerable to an accident; when i stomp on the gas pedal, i expect to get acceleration. I don't expect the car to pause in order to decide which gear would be the best to jump into. The dealership said the computer was trying to decide which gear would be the most economical, from a gas perspective, to shift into. This is not for normal acceleration, but where i need to accelerate very quickly. Additionally, the automatic transmission jerks when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. It has been happening since i purchased it in october 2017. When i complained about it to the dealer service center, they said this was "normal" and nothing they could do.
