WHILE DRIVING OVER A BRIDGE, THE AUTOMATIC BRAKING SYSTEM ENGAGED INDEPENDENTLY WITH NO HAZARD AHEAD. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL DETECTION SYSTEM ACTIVATED INCORRECTLY. THE SYSTEM DETECTED A VEHICLE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND ENGAGED THE BRAKING SYSTEM AS IF THE VEHICLE WERE IN FRONT OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. The forward collision warning system activated for no reason. As i was starting to accelerate from a traffic light on a city street it came on suddenly and rapidly decelerated the vehicle. Luckily no one was behind me.
