There is a recall for this vehicle for battery overheating and vehicle catching on fire. Audi is unable to remedy this issue at this time. I notice routinely that the charging wire used to charge this vehicle becomes extra hot during charging. I have discussed this issue with audi but they claim they cannot help me at this time. I'm worried about danger of fire. Please help.

  • Failed components: EXTERIOR LIGHTING

The third brake light intermittently stops working. Being that it is intermittent, it tells me the led and circuitry are working. Also, a warning alert will illuminate on my dash instrument cluster and not when the light is working again. Upon further searching on-line, there is an issue with a solder joint cracking. I believe this is the case because when i jiggle the connector, the light will illuminate. Since this light is required by law, this is a very important safety issue. And a rather expensive one since the replacement part alone is $150-$200.

2018 Audi Q7
  • Date of Incident: Mar-01, 2024
  • Date complaint filed: Mar-25, 2024
  • Failed components: SUSPENSION

Rear passenger side coil spring broke. Vehicle has 85k miles. Happened when traveling on a highway - heard a loud bang. Car still ran however sitting 1' lower on that side. Repair estimate in the $1500 range. Research in online forums shows this is happening to a lot of 2017-18 q7s. Definitely a design/component flaw.

-Car shut down (engine off, battery still functioning) while driving. Car went into neutral. -Lost power steering and other functions after about 20 seconds of the engine shutting down. -Immediate life-threatening danger while driving to us and surrounding drivers and pedestrians -no inspection or police report yet. -the car has not been driven since the incident and so the problem has not been reproduced yet. Upon inspection of the trunk area (2018 Audi Q5), we found about 4 inches of water. This has been attributed to clogged sunroof drains causing water to flow into the trunk and short out electrical components.

2017 Audi A4
  • Date of Incident: Mar-16, 2024
  • Date complaint filed: Mar-21, 2024
  • Failed components: ENGINE

I experienced similar undesirable engine behavior on two occasions. Upon coming to a stop, the auto start/stop system stopped the engine. Shortly after, when attempting to drive away, the stop/start system attempted to start the engine, but failed; the starter briefly activated to turn over the engine, but the engine did not start and continue running. The car was left in the following condition: engine off. Gear indicator showing "d". Accelerator pedal unresponsive. Regaining engine power required turning the car off, applying the brake pedal, turning the car on, and selecting "d" with the gear selector. This behavior occurred on two occasions on different days; once on 16 march 2024 and the first time within several days prior. Both occasions occurred before the engine was at full operating temperature, and while the car was on a slight uphill slope. Ambient temperatures were in the high 40's or 50's fahrenheit. By luck, neither occasion resulted in an unsafe traffic condition.

The problem with the central locking system in the audi q8 has been widely reported in the audi community and forums, yet audi has failed to acknowledge it as a widespread issue. This negligence puts the safety of q8 owners at risk and must be addressed promptly to prevent any further incidents. The dealership has inspected the vehicle, but urgent action is needed to identify and rectify the malfunctioning component or system causing the locking issue. This will ensure the safety and security of the vehicle and its occupants. The malfunctioning doors on the audi q8 have been an ongoing issue since the vehicle was purchased, with no warning signs prior to the failures. This erratic behavior poses an imminent safety threat and requires immediate attention to prevent any further incidents.
