WATER PUMP FAILED WITH 47K FILES - THERE SEEM TO BE A LOT OF THESE ISSUE WITH MULTIPLE Q7 OWNERS. IT SEEMS LIKE THERE WAS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT.
MY 2019 Audi Q7 HAS NOW GONE THROUGH 4 WINSHIELDS IN 2 YEARS. I DRIVE AN EXPRESSWAY TO WORK AND HAVE NEVER HAD A CRACK ON ANY CAR BEFORE. I HAVE READ INTO THIS AND OTHER AUDI Q7 OWNERS ARE COMPLAINING OF THE SAME PROBLEM. THE WINDSHIELD IS NEARLY $2000 TO REPLACE. I HAVE APPEALED TO AUDI, THEY DENY A PROBLEM. PEOPLE CAN'T JUST KEEP PAYING FOR THESE BRITTLE WINDSCREENS ON CARS. EVERY TIME SOMETHING TOUCHES THE SCREEN, IT CRACKS OR CHIPS. I HAVE INCLUDED A PDF OF CLAIMS, EMAILS AND PHOTOS OF SOME OF THE OVER 20 CRACKS I HAVE HAD.
Stationary vehicle: for the last 3-4 week the seat belt does not want to fasten. I have to really work with it to fasten. Also ,it is difficulty to un-fasten once it is fastened. This problem is intermittent and is getting hung more frequently. I ask the audi dealer in melbourne to check the seat belt about 5- months ago. They said they could not reproduce the problem with the seat belt. But to me this is a real safety problem.
At times, the "stop-start" system seems to falter when the vehicle has slowed to almost a full stop, but not quite. If i try to accelerate i get a few seconds when nothing happens. I feel that it is either a transmission caught between shifts or an engine falter. I have mentioned this to the dealer, but was told that "that's how it is".
While overtaking another car on a 2 lane road under high acceleration (90 mph) it appeared that all electronic systems in the car failed. The display showed several systems failing after another and beeping indicators were heard. The power breaking failed, only non-power assisted breaking, power steering failed and the engine stalled during the time while overtaking another car. I could still overtake the other vehicle and was able stop the car on the side of the road. When parking i shut off the ignition, started and was able to continue. The same issue happened later on that day. Then after that event the sos malfuction warning came on as well as the engine orange led (see picture). This had no direct effect on driving and this warning stayed on for about a week. Suddenly that warning disappeared.
Both front tires at 19,600 miles have tread pealing off the tire. This is occurring across the whole tread of the front tires. From the inside to the outside of both tires. The rear tires look like new. The front tires tread depth indicaters show the tire to be evenly worn across each front tire. Audi said there was a tsb concerning the tire wear of the front tires and i would have to pay for new replacement tires and alignment. There were some sheets of rubber sloughing off the tires as though they being torn from the tires
When driving with the cruise control on, the vehicle automatically adjusts the speed to the speed limit. On occasion, when driving at freeway speeds, it will pick up the speed limit from a cross street (over or under pass). This happened on a recent trip with the vehicle set at the speed limit of 75, then suddenly and automatically braking because it detected a 45 mph cross street. With most traffic moving at 75 mph, this was extremely dangerous to suddenly brake for no apparent reason with people right behind us. We can no longer us our cruise control because of this. The audi dealership could not replicate this issue. It only happened to us in a small number of circumstances, but was dangerous and frightening when it did. The automatic speed adjust also apparently cannot be turned off. The dealership did mentioned they were aware of another audi vehicle they had seen with the same issue.
Forward collision engaged on a highway with no other vehicles or obstacles near. Brakes slammed on, and vehicle came to a complete stop in the roadway.
HI THERE I PURCHASED A USED 2017Audi Q7 3.0T WITH ABOUT 65K MILES IN OCTOBER OF 2019 AND A COUPLE OF WEEKS LATER I NOTICED THAT THE ANTIFREEZE BOTTLE WAS ALWAYS LOW SO I HAD TO KEEP ADDING.THERE WAS NO LEAK IN THE GARAGE BUT YOU CAN CERTAINLY SMELL THE ANTIFREEZE. I CHECKED ON GOOGLE AND OTHER FORUMS AND LEARNED THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE WATER PUMP. SO IF OTHER PEOPLE IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM I THINK AUDI SHOULD LOOK INTO FIXING IT .THANK YOU
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 Audi Q7. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT 25 MPH, A WARNING MESSAGE INDICATING ?STEERING MALFUNCTION PLEASE VEHICLE? ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER, SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE AND ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, HOWEVER THE MESSAGE WAS STILL DISPLAYED. THE CONTACT LEFT THE VEHICLE AT A PARKING LOT OVER NIGHT. THE CONTACT HAD THE MANUFACTURER TOW THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL DEALER BELL AUDI (782 US-1, EDISON, NJ 08817) WHO DIAGNOSED THE FAILURE AS A STEERING WHEEL SYSTEM ISSUE THAT WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO COST. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,328.
While driving down a local city street, the car began to lose power, flashed a bunch of error codes and then lost power within a few seconds. The steering wheel locked when this happened so the car could not safely be steered off the road. They did initially replace the battery thinking that that was the cause but it happened shortly after leaving the mechanic so it we took at back which is when we were told that a software update was needed but that only the dealership can do this. The car is now sitting at the dealership but that are now telling us that we must buy their battery otherwise they can't work on it.
Water pump leaked and had to be replaced at 50,000 miles and 4 1/2 years old.
My to date with 22017 audi q-7 has had 3 sets of defective tire. Always serviced at dealership, before servive even due, they informed me at 13,642 that my tires were throwing chucks of rubber. Good year tires warrantied but charged me $600. 00 plus install and balance that i paid. At 23,425 miles the same even worse issue appeared on the 2nd set-- again good year warrantied if i paid another $762. 00. The dealership, audi sarasota,fl has been helpful but suggested i buy perrelli tire for another $700. 00 plus dollars. Goodyear has a problem with the tire for this model, other owners have had issues i was told by the first service manager who has left the dealership. I would like goodyear to return all monies spent on these defective and dangerous that works. Tires and i will buy the appropiate brand and style. How should i go forward?
At approximately 54k miles the cooling system pump was diagnosed by the audi dealer that it was leaking. I had to have the pump and all associated parts replaced. This is a common failure with this model. I believe audi is using inferior pumps.
Sun roof spontaneously exploding while driving straight on a highway.
• faulty radar sensors and automatic emergency breaking system issues • transmission problems (e. G. Hesitation on acceleration, failure to accelerate, jerking, shuddering, revving, surging, slipping, etc. ) • engine problems (e. G. Leaks, illumination of the check engine light, whining noise from the engine area, loss of power, stalling, rough running, etc. ) • electrical problems (e. G. Failure to start, door locks malfunction, illumination of the airbag warning light, steering system malfunctions, bluetooth, screen malfunction etc. ) • suspension problems • excessive oil consumption • steering system problems
Front right side market defective light and all lights seem to work. This seems to be a consistent problem on audi forms and complaints. This should not be a owners issue as dealerships are claiming to replace the entire light for $6,000 which is ludicrous just for a defective side marker light. I don? T believe they fixed the problem from the last recall of side marker light controls. This is a major road hazard.
IN MAY OF 2020 I SEVERELY HIT MY HEAD (LEFT SIDE OF FOREHEAD) ON THE C-PILLAR WHILE EXITING THE LEFT-REAR SEAT. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AT THE TIME AT THE TIME OF MY HEAD INJURY. THE INJURY WAS CAUSED BECAUSE THE C-PILLAR IS VERY CLOSE TO THE REAR HEADREST, AND TO EXIT THE VEHICLE ONE GENERALLY HAS TO LOOK DOWN AT THE GROUND WHERE ONE IS ABOUT TO STEP. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THERE IS CURRENTLY A SAFETY RECALL (70H8 NHTSA: 20V658) FOR THIS VEHICLE, A 2018 Audi Q7. (THE C-PILLAR IS THE THIRD VERTICAL BEAM FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE.) THE RECALL STATES "AN INCREASED RISK OF INJURY IF AN UNBELTED PASSENGER'S HEAD CONTACTS THE C-PILLAR IN A CRASH." MY EXPERIENCE IS THAT THERE IS ALSO AN INCREASED RISK OF HEAD INJURY ON THE C-PILLAR AS PASSENGERS EXIT THE VEHICLE FROM THE REAR DOORS WHILE THE VEHICLE IS PARKED. I REPORTED MY PROBLEM TO THE MANUFACTURER AND THEY RESPONDED ON DEC. 22, 2020: "AUDI OF AMERICA HAS REVIEWED YOUR CONCERNS AND WE SEE THE EXPERIENCE AS BEING NO FAULT OF THE VEHICLE OR THE 70H8 CAMPAIGN."
Two issues: the small portable air pump that came with the car would blow the fuse to the 12v cigarette lighter. After a new fuse is put in, this would happen on about every third or fourth time of using of the pump. I have replaced about 5 fuses already. The second issue is the squeaking of the rear brakes when backing up during cold or hot. However, it does happen more when cold/in the morning. A factory dealership had look at the issue but found nothing.
Loud squeaking noise when backing up/on reverse coming from front brakes. Advised audi dealership at rocherst hills, mi for the issue when the car was less then 2 years old and with only 20,000 miles on it, but service adviser said there was no bulletin tsb, service campaig or recall for the the issue. I should pay out of my pocket for the service. After speaking to an audi representative directly, i was advised that there was a tsb for the car and my car it should be serviced. When contacted the same dealership i was advised that i was out of 24,000 miles (by 1,000 miles) or 2 years warranty (out 4 months) and they could not fix it. When i complained to them that the other advised told me there is no coverage available, when my car was under coverage limits, then the dealer told me that the adviser dos not work with them anymore. I opened a complain with audi customer care and after 2 weeks, audi customer service stated that the dealer advised that i need to replace rotor and pads due to dust?.. Audi could not do anything as they have a relatioship with the dealership, as per customer service repersentative. The squeaing is very, very loud, my 3 kids and people around get scared or wondering what is happening when i press brakes while on reverse. Neither audi usa or audi rocherster hills, mi care about their customers safetybut just our money.
