My passenger airbag sensor malfunctioned and the repair is over two thousand dollars. The car is only 6 years old and i believe airbags should last longer than 6 years. Bmw has extended warranties for airbags on some models (mine not included) for 15 years without mileage limitation. If a collision occurs, my passenger would be in extreme danger.
On yesterday i went to the bmw dealership for service. Once i got there i reported that i been smelling a burning smell coming from underneath the hood. Well the technician can back and reported i have 3 leaks. I was told i needed to replaced eg58 gasket oil filter housing, en17 cylinder head cover gasket. I need to know if my 2017 bmw 320i have a recall on this matter. I believe in 2022 from what i read today.
Gas tank began leaking from top of blind flange, similar to other extended warranties (sib 01 03 22 and sib 01 07 22). Bmw is refusing to cover my specific model year (i have sent letters requesting reimbursement and called multiple times). It created an explosion hazard in my garage. Had mechanic repair, i do not have part. Cost $2,000 for new tank that will probably develop same issue. There were no warning lamps.
While replacing the battery, the battery well was rusty. If allowed to continue i have no doubt the very heavy battery will fall through to the ground causing an accident and very hazardous materials will spill on the roadway (acids and lead from a ruptured battery).
The contact owns a 2015 bmw 320i. The contact stated that after his wife had refueled the vehicle, he noticed that the vehicle was leaking fuel on the driver's side rear. There was a puddle of fuel on the ground. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact called an independent mechanic who stated that the failure was due to the pressurized fuel system. The contact called the local dealer and was informed that there were no recalls on the vin. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, and the contact was referred to the nhtsa hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 145,000.

The contact stated that after pulling into a parking lot at approximately 10 mph and shifting the vehicle into park(p), the message that the engine was overheating was displayed on the instrument panel. After waiting a while for the engine to cool down the contact restarted the vehicle and exited the parking lot. The contact stated that the vehicle began hesitating and sputtering as if the vehicle was going to stall. The contact pulled into another nearby parking lot to park and turn off the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to a certified mechanic and the contact was informed that the water pump had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been officially diagnosed. The vehicle had not been repaired. The mechanic referred the contact to the manufacturer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The manufacturer referred the contact to the nhtsa hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 95,000.
I’m not sure why my car was not apart of this water pump recall. I was driving without any warning my car started stalling and then completely stopped on me. I had to pay for a new water pump due to this. I thought that was was strange as i have always be up on all maintenance for my car. My car was in top notch condition and this occurred from no where. Thank god i was not hit. ; but this did cause me a lot of hassle and money. I am asking bmw to refund me for my time lost and money spent. My car should be among bmw recall. Please add this car model to the recall and refund me my money.
I own a 2014 bmw 320ix and first time today, august 20th the engine overheat message came on my dashboard and then started to go idle and appear that it was about to die. Upon letting the car sit for a few hours to cool off, within a quarter of a mile of driving the car again the light came up and started to idle and felt like it was going to die again. Twice today, i was left stranded in parking lot and to call a tow truck to have it towed to an independent auto mechanic that fixes bmw. This evening i noticed a recall for 2012 - 2014 bmw 328 and 328ix. This is also an issue with the 2014 bmw 320ix models too. I need this recall to also include the 320ix model. How can this be updated and approved as soon as possible to include this car model and year? Prior to today, there was no indication of an engine or have i ever seen the over heat message come on today. I need to know if i need to take it to a bmw dealership or can it be fixed through the independent car mechanic? The electrical water pump that was just recalled on over 720,000 bmws is the same water pump on the 320is. My vehicle as of now has had issues with the pump completely going out causing high temperature issues with the motor while driving.
My 2018 bmw 320 stalls and cuts off when i come to a stop. Very dangerous. It has cut off in the middle of the road. I have checked online to see if this is a common issue. Other bmw owners have reported this same issue. There has been a recall on other bmw models with this same issue from 2014-2018 for fuel system and fuel pump that may cause this issue. Letters were sent out i. January of 2022. My 2018 bmw 320si has not been included in this recall for some odd reason. When car shuts off a warning message appears on screen. One message states “transmission not in park. ” or “drivetrain malfunction”. This began to happen on november 2022. I have taken my vehicle to two dealers. One was an independent repair shop and the other was a bmw service center. Both reported issues with fuel pump that would cause this problem.
