Car accelerates while braking on various occasions - so far i've had the car 4 months and it has done this without warning 5 times, luckily so far haven't hit anything. Brought it back to bmw 2 times and they say they can find no problems. I am now driving an accident waiting to happen and there is nothing i can do.
The front seat driver seatbelt does not retract. Dealer replaced mechanism and new product is worse. The seatbelt does not retract properly and hangs as well as gets caught in the door causing damage to surrounding interior.
After putting the hardtop down and receiving the complete message, i then got another message saying? Retractable top not locked? - see owners manual. After reviewing the manual, i could not dismiss the warning or put the top back up. I have been getting this same message whether the top is up or down since purchasing the vehicle and it has been in the shop almost the entire 3 weeks i have owned it! The car was running and in park when the top was initially lowered and received the message the first time.

Had a situation where the rear window of my car shattered while stored in the trunk due to the roof mechanism engaging while driving. This happened while in a drive thru going about 2 miles an hour at a chick-fil-a on friday august 7th 2020. There appears to be some fault in the roof stowage mechanism that caused it to push the roof up into the glass and it crushed it.

My sunroof exploded while driving. There were no other vehicles on the roadway. The explosion was violent and loud. Luckily the violent explosion didn? T cause me to crash. Bits of glass are still stuck in my skin. I can feel the glass but i can? T see it.
My sunroof exploded on me while driving. Luckily there was no other traffic on the roadway. The explosion was violent and sounded like a gunshot.
My wife was driving our 2017 bmw 430i with our infant son in the back seat. She traveling approximately 70 mph on the freeway when she heard an explosive sound which resulted in the glass sunroof to shatter. The sunroof was not open, the heat was not on, and there were no vehicles in front/behind, or next to her. No visible evidence of any road debris. It just exploded outward, and no clue as to why.
Seat belts do not retract when removed. They must be manually pushed into the seat back. If i forget, or loan my car to someone there is a danger of the seat belt and/or seat belt clip being stuck in the door causing damage that may not be noticeable until the seat belt fails in an accident. I was told by the dealer that this is normal for this car.

Friend was driving down freeway. Suddenly heard a loud boom, and the sound of road noise. Pulled off freeway. Found that sunroof had spontaneously shattered. The only reason this didn't hurt the driver was that the sunroof shade was pulled. The dealership (long beach bmw) claimed that this was a result of an impact. No evidence of something hitting it with enough force to cause this shattering is visible. In fact, the picture shows that the sunroof exploded out when it shattered. (look around the hole and you will see that the sunroof glass was going out.
I pulled in my driveway and turned off the engine. I used the internal button to open the trunk then opened my door and got out of the car. The key was in my purse on my shoulder. I was reaching into the trunk to gather my belongings, and the car made a steady alarm sound i had never heard before and the trunk closed on my arm. I was able to pull my arm out while it was pinned in the trunk, but i have two painful subdermal hematomas on my right arm.
Seat occupancy sensor is sensing a fault. It says it is not working and the airbag is not on. The dealer is reluctant to repair it, because it? S expensive. It? S ucleat if the airbag will work.
While parked, car went on with gear shift failure with a note to take in for service, no lights on gear shift. Restarted car with it functioning as normal. 2 hours later, doors unlock on its own and all windows, sunroof also open on its own while in motion. Not exactly sure what is the defect as the car seems to be out of control from the driver/passenger.
