The vehicle has been part of recall #18v-755 related to engine egr cooler leakage. The egr cooler is part of emission's control. On this vehicle the egr can leak which causes coolant to get into intake manifold and potentially cause risk of fire. Bmw denied to cover the repair on my vehicle reason i am asking for support. Have already called bmw customer service 1800-831-1117 but unfortunately no support was offered. Car have been fixed by replacing the egr with genuine bmw part. Invoice attached.

My car has a problem with the carbon fiber roof panel. In the sun, the clear epoxy of the roof is de laminating from the carbon fiber beneath it. This is a safety issue because as it delaminates the clear epoxy is no longer properly attached to the roof and may fly off and into other vehicles when traveling at highway speeds. This is a well documented issue with these cars on the reddit forum r/bmwi3.

Rear passenger door bouncing back when closing and now passenger rear door doing exactly same thing. If it happens you have to drive while holding door closed trying not to fly out into traffic.

  • Date of Incident: Apr-12, 2024
  • Date complaint filed: Apr-13, 2024
  • Failed components: SERVICE BRAKES and FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING

We were driving at about 45 miles per hour (not using adaptive cruise control) and the emergency braking system suddenly kicked in, slamming on the brakes even though there was nobody in front of us slowing down and there was no hazard. It created a dangerous situation as the car in back of us could have rear-ended us.

2024 BMW M440I
  • Date of Incident: Apr-01, 2024
  • Date complaint filed: Apr-13, 2024
  • Failed components: VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL and FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL

I am complaining about my new $ 79,000 bmw 440i that i just took possession of. I found out that the speedometer doesn't really tell you how fast you are driving. In sd the max speed on our interstate is 80mph. However, in my new car when the speedometer says you are going 80mph you are really only going 76mph. I consider that a serious safety issue since you never really know how fast you are going in any given situation. I also own an audi s4 and when it says you are going 80mph, you really are going 80mph. Also, all my american cars give you the real speed at which you are driving. I can't believe our automobile safety laws permit this. [xxx] vermillion sd information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6)
