Hello, i am the original owner of my 2019 buick regal sportback which shows a "shift to park message when i attempt to shut off the car and the car shifter is in the park position. I am unable to turn off lights, radio, or accessories. This condition runs down the battery and prevents me from starting the car as the shifter stays locked in position unless the car is running. This should be covered under the gm drivetrain warranty. Please help.

The side detection system got corroded as it was exposed to water. My airbags, turn signals, speedometer, cameras, blind spot warnings, etc. Went out. This costed almost $2k to replace and get fixed when this could have been avoided if the side detection parts weren't easily exposed to water. Knowing that this could happen again as this is the way the car was manufactured does not sit well with me. It started failing while on an interstate which caused very unsafe driving conditions for me and the drivers around me. This seems to be a common issue with the buick verano that has not been addressed in a recall. The warning lights came on as soon as the failure started occurring.

The contact owns a 2014 Buick Enclave. The contact was notified of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V334000 (Air Bags) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

The rear window on the cascada is known to separate from the convertible top material, likely due to an insufficient amount of primer used during the assembly process, which creates stress points allowing the material to separate from the glass. Once this bond has started to fail, it is eventually going to lead to the glass completely falling off the car. It is likely that the glass separating could render the rear defrost inoperable, too, decreasing visibility. Nhtsa bulletin 17-na-216 describes this problem; why was no recall ever issued?

I had taken to alpena mi. Buick gmc address 133 johnson st alpena mi. 49707. When the warning come up on the message center on the dash [xxx] that said service side detection system and in the side mirrors each side light up all the time and would cost $875. 00 installed at that time had to pay $80. 19 inspect and advise. At that time was unable to afford that cost to have fixed. So with those light on in your mirrors it was a unsafe to drive in daylight hours and worse in night time driving so we had to limit our driving because of this and both my wife and myself are on disability.. It was a distraction and made for unsafe travel for ourselves and for other drivers on the roads. We were able to afford on [xxx] and at time was taken back to. The same dealership for repair at that time they installed the side detection kit cost was $812. 66 which was less then the original cost. Question number 2 with this lights on in your mirrors at all times when we would be driving day and night it was a big distraction that you never would know if someone was in the next lane to you on two lane road or on the interstate. So each person was at risk in our vehicle as well as other vehicles. Question number 3 yes that was confirmed by alpena buick gmc the dealer i had taken the car to back on [xxx]. Question number 4 as far as it being a gm dealer and being a gm part i would say yes. Question 5 yes as i told you in question 1 it had on the message center in dash service side detection as well as lights on in both mirrors. In my words this is a reason this should be a recall first for people that are driving and can't afford to have fixed this is a accidents waiting to happen with death please do a recall. The contact owns a 2024 buick encore gx. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 23v744000 (electrical system), and the vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the recall repair was performed; however, while driving 30 mph, the instrument cluster display and the infotainment system screen display turned black. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact pulled over to the side of the road, turned off, and restarted the vehicle; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that she was able to drive to the nearby residence. The contact stated that upon arriving to the residence, she turned off and restarted the vehicle several times, and the infotainment screen display became operable. The contact stated that she went to the vehicle settings on the infotainment system and selected update twice, but the instrument cluster display remained black. The contact stated that she then selected previous updates and turned off the vehicle for an hour. The contact stated that upon restarting the vehicle, the instrument cluster and the infotainment system were operable. The dealer was notified of the failure through a voicemail message. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 1,714.

The recall was discovered on march 25 by my car insurance company. We stopped driving the vehicle since it is unsafe to drive it until recall is remidied with a new part. I have called gm 3 times as well as 3 different dealerships. Gm and one dealership mentioned the vehicle is actually safe to drive its just if you got in accident that it would be a concern! Noone can say when these parts will be in and its already been 3 weeks. The dealerships refuse to offer a loaner and when asked about reimburse for a rental they said to call gm. Gm refused to reimburse for a rental since my car is paid for and out of their warranty. Gm nor the dealerships are actually doing anything to fix the car or offer transportation that is safe until it can be fixed.
