TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 Buick Regal. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS INSIDE THE VEHICLE, THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR LOCK WAS PRESSED, WHICH ACTIVATED THE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM. THE DOORS WOULD NOT UNLOCK FROM THE INSIDE AND THE OCCUPANTS BECAME TRAPPED INSIDE THE VEHICLE FOR APPROXIMATELY 15 MINUTES BEFORE THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO OPEN THE DOORS. AN UNKNOWN DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
We had the driver's headlight replaced under warranty due to it holding water. Once we got the car back and drove it at night, it was apparent that the light pattern was not the same. See photo. We were not able to see the road on the left side since the beam was essentially pointed down so i took the vehicle back and they said that the headlight was a new design and that's how it looks but they claimed to have adjusted it again. That week we drove to orlando at night and almost every car in the opposite direction would either flash their lights at us or honk their horn. I did a static test and the ledt light was illuminating overhead road signs at a distance of 50ft so we were blinding oncoming drivers. I contacted buick corporate and they told me to take the vehicle back to the dealer a 4th time, once again i was told this is the new design but we will adjust it. As it stands right now, my left and right headlights are throwing 2 completely different light patterns, i still can't see the left side of the road and the high beams on the left side don't seem to illuminate anything at all. I'm a licensed engineer and accident re-constructionist that has subjected other vehicles to dot and sae headlight tests and these lights will not pass. It also causes undue stress on the the driver since the lighting pattern is no longer consistent across the front of the car. I would like some help in getting gm to acknowledge this issue and correct it since they are telling me that once my warranty expires in may, they are no longer responsible
THIS VEHICLE HAS HID HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES THAT HAVE CONSTANT ISSUES WITH CONDENSATION/WATER ENTERING THE HOUSING AND CAUSING THE BALLAST AND BULB TO FAIL. THIS IS DUE TO A FAULTY SEAL BETWEEN THE OUTER AND INNER SHELL ASSEMBLY. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE, AS THE VEHICLE MAY LOOSE ALL HEADLIGHTS AND CAUSE THE DRIVER TO CRASH. THE ASSEMBLIES ARE VERY COSTLY TO REPLACE AND THE ISSUE IS VERY VERY COMMON ON ALL 2011 THOUGH 2017 Regal AND GS MODELS WITH HID. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND SHOULD BE FIXED BY THE MANUFACTURER. NEW ASSEMBLIES WILL RESULT IN THE SAME SAFETY ISSUE IN A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME. THIS COULD BE A DESIGN FLAW OR A MANUFACTURING FLAW... REGARDLESS, IT IS VERY DANGEROUS!
Vehicle was in motion:? Driving through an empty parking lot. ? Followed road around the building. ? Blinded by sunlight. ? Hit stationary pole head? On. Weather conditions : heavy rain : prior to 2:00pm light rain and sunshine between : 2:45pm and 3:04pm fault or problem description: knee / lower extremity airbag deployment. High risk of lower extremity injury for both in-position and out-of-position small female drivers. My left foot was forced upward due to the force of crash. The airbags deployed with such force, it snapped my left foot downward. The result is a left ankle dislocated and severe left tibia / fib fracture. Basically, i broke every bone in my left foot apart from my heel and toes. Surgery, monday, november 5, 2018: open reduction / internal fixation (orif) with left bimalleolar ankle fracture / dislocation with close management talus fracture / subtalar surgery. I now have a plate and six (6) screws inside the bone to hold them in the correct place so the bones do not heal abnormally. The orthopedic surgeon informed me, due to this type of injury, arthritis will set in my ankle. I may want to consider ankle fusion surgery in the future. The fusion surgery would help reduce the chronic pain. Fusion surgery would result the inability to use my ankle, i. E. , to flex, point, bend ankle, and rotate the ankle at all. The fusion surgery is permanent. Component part or system that may be the cause of the safety risk: driver lower extremity response and injury with knee airbag deployment. Additional information and evidence related to your complaint: will be scanned and sent later.
Reversing camera camera is installed and equipped with guide lines showing direction of travel and wheel position. These guidelines intermitently disappear for no apparent reason. If the car is put into neutral and then back into reverse lines reappear. Since the lines are a feature of the vehicle and are not working reliably i feel this is a defect, it is a definite distraction from the information that the camera is proffering. Gm acknowledged the problem initially and replaced a module 4 times on this vehicle in an attempt to correct the problem without success now they have taken the position that the camera is working as designed... Clearly safety equipment should work reliably 100% of the time without distractions. In discussion with other gm owners and research online this problem is prevalent on other gm models across the product line. It appears to be be linked the number of safety features installed on the car. The more safety features the more likely of failures. This problem occurs on a daily basis and can be recreated at will. It will happen any time the car is traveling in reverse
I was driving down the highway in texas, and was in the process of changing lanes to the left and accelerating when all of a sudden my vehicle completely lost power and would not go into gear. My transmission light immediately came on. The psl was 70 and thankfully i was able to move back into the right lane and navigate to the shoulder without getting hit. I eventually coasted off the hwy and had aaa tow my car to the dealership where it was determined my transmission needing rebuilding. This occurred around 30k miles. Periodically after that my car would not accelerate like i had a misfire and i'd feel a shudder or sometimes it felt my tires were spinning faster than my transmission was going. I took my car in for an oil change (no lights were on). I explained this to the dealership and my car was throwing a code turns out the torque converter needing replacing. This was under 50k miles. I am currently at 52k miles and when i go up a high i feel the same thing and have told the dealership this. They won't give me a loaner car and i can't be without my car so i have not currently brought it back in. There are no lights on but it feels like the same issue is starting back when the torque converter went out. I have always had my car serviced at the dealership so i have all the records.
Driver seat belt will not fasten. Defective ,so i'm without a seatbelt

Tl* the contact owns a 2018 buick regal. When the vehicle was stopped at a red light, the engine was designed to shut down to preserve fuel. Instead, the engine rpms would rev and increase to 3,000 and the vehicle accelerated. The driver immediately shifted into neutral to prevent the vehicle from driving through a busy intersection. The contact stated that the failure also occurred once while reversing out of a driveway. The vehicle was taken to mcelveen buick (117 farmington rd, summerville, sc), but the failures could not be diagnosed or duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 300.
Mold in air conditioner. When turning on engine, mold smell comes out of air vents.
When a child is locked into the trunk of this vehicle he/she will be permanently trapped inside. There is no emergency procedure for egress. There is no cable no button. Not acceptable.
I was entering a city street from a shopping mall. As i found a small break in the traffic i pulled out and attempted to accelerate. My car did not change gears. I was forced to pull off the road quickly to prevent my car from getting hit from the rear. I had been driving around all day on the interstate and various shopping centers without any indication something was wrong with my car. I had it towed to the dealership. This is the 2nd transmission problem with this car in 4 months with now with only 27k miles. It has been in the shop for 25 days now and not sure when it will be ready this time.
Tl* the contact owns a 2018 buick regal. The contact purchased the vehicle in february of 2018, but did not obtain it until june 15, 2018. While in a drive-thru line, the contact removed his foot from the brake pedal and the vehicle lurched forward and crashed into a pole. The front driver side fender, bumper, and headlight were damaged. There were no injuries and a police report was filed. The dealer (greiner buick gmc, 14555 civic dr. , victorville, ca 92394) was contacted and referred the contact to an authorized buick body shop for the damages. The failure was not diagnosed by the dealer. The manufacturer had not been contacted. The failure mileage was 169. *tt

Letter from congressman visclosky on behalf of constituent re the materials used to manufacturer automobiles should be looked into for the safety of the consumers. *ld the consumer stated the vehicle was in a minor accident that caused significant damage to the bumper. The consumer was informed that the bumper may have been made out of a tire compound. The consumer believed that the bumper should be only out of steel. Updated 11/3/2017*js
While traveling on a highway at 60 mph the sunroof exploded. The glass flew in and out of the car sticking me in the face and body. There was no contact with any outside object, the road was smooth and there were no overhead trees, signs or bridges.
Car applied brakes suddenly and fully 4-5 times during 200 mile trip on i-5 for no apparent reason while adaptive cruise control was on at freeway speeds (65-70mph). It occurred randomly, while following other vehicles, including semi-trucks, which are not in same lane and/or are significant distance away. Did so without any driver input or application of brakes. Decreased speed was so sudden, it caused driver's seat belt to tense up. Fortunately, there were no vehicles directly behind mine or my car would have been rear-ended at freeway speeds, resulting in potential serious injury. I took car to dealer where it was purchased (royal moore auto center, hillsboro, oregon (503-648-1153) on 8/9/17 and left it for day. Their technicians ran codes and drove car, but could not duplicate problem. (invoice # bucs780125). I was referred to buick (800-521-7300) and it referred me to gm senior advisor team. Was assigned service request #8-3144154519. I spoke to service representative "christi", who told me there was nothing they could do unless the service technicians could duplicate the problem. Her only suggestion was that i return to the dealer to see if they could do that. I told her since the problem did not occur all the time, but only some of the time, that made no sense. I asked to speak with someone at gm who might have technical knowledge about this dangerous problem. She said she could not refer me to anyone at gm for that purpose. I told her (and later a second senior advisory team member- who are independent contractors and not gm employees), that i had found websites that discussed other owners of gm vehicles equipped with the forward collision alert and braking system and adaptive cruise control, ie, automatic braking systems, experiencing similar problems- their vehicles braked at the wrong time for no apparent reason. Nhtsa needs to look into this asap.
Driver infotainment center has many issues, remains blank while radio is playing and can be controlled by steering wheel controls and hvac via external buttons. Also backup camera intermittently jumps the video from camera but not the cgi lines. This makes you stop due to reflexes thinking something ran out in the way of backing up. On occasion the display has shown system error and also hvac control not operable. Also have seen the cgi directional lines not show up until placed in forward gear just before the display turns off the camera. Dealer and buick have been notified and mechanic could not duplicate the intermittent problem so they will not replace any components yet this problem occurs daily between trips but cannot be replicated to show dealer. We have videos of the problem and photos of the error messages. Dealer has reprogrammed the system multiple times no fix yet. Buick was of zero help on this lemon of a problem and reminded us the lemon law does not apply to accessories such as this backup camera. Lane change and collision detection also have issues of false reporting but no solution either. Stay away from this system as it is flawed and no help from buick or dealer. Dealer actually suggest taking the issue to another dealer - wow very nice after sale support.
