My truck had the electronic brake control module reprogramming with sps as per recall n192268490 performed. The reprogramming worked fine for a few months. In march 2020, i noticed that at low speeds and mainly when backing, the brakes began to lose pressure and what sounded like and felt like the antilock brake system was engaging, and very hard pressure was needed to stop the truck with longer than expected braking occurring. The problem has definitely worsened and occurs nearly every time braking at low speeds in reverse with any type of incline. While backing my boat into a driveway, this issue occurred and nearly sent the boat into the garage door. I had to apply as much pressure as i possibly could to the brakes to stop the truck and boat before hitting the garage door. The issue has occurred repeatedly as i have backed up on an incline, with or without a trailer or boat attached to my truck.
Started having soft/hard braking issues when going at low speeds. Pump the brake petal a few times to try and apply more pressure but does not do the trick. Do not see any issue's with leaks or damage. Seen recalls for vacuum pumps with the year and model the same.
I am seeing extreme amount of clearcoat peeling all around vehicle. Appears to be specific to this vehicle paint process. Professional paint shop says poor paint job. Dealer won't help. Gm won't help. I see many others online that have same problem. My truck is in perfect condition. I own other gm cars with no problems. I want help from dealer to fix (college chevrolet, albion, mi 49224).
When going down the road and coming to a stop or reversing the break pedal feels super stiff and turn makes a noise. I just put in 600 dollars on break job.
MY 2017 Silverado 1500, WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT WAS IDLING ROUGH AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME. SO WHEN I BROUGHT THE TRUCK IN FOR A SECOND RECALL. THE DEALER SAID THEY COULD DO A DIAGNOSTIC. WELL THEY SAID IT WAS MISS FIRING DUE TO BAD FUEL INJECTOR CYLINDER 8 WASN'T WORKING SO THEY GAVE ME A PRICE OF 1500 TO FIX THE PROBLEM UNFORTUNATELY WE JUST GOT OUT FROM THE FACTORY WARRANTY AND HAD EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT DIDN'T COVER FUEL INJECTORS SO WE PUT LUCAS FUEL INJECTOR CLEANER AND IT HELPED. IT SEEMS AS IF THERE ARE A LOT OF COMPLAINTS FOR THIS REASON.
Power steering lost temporarily, lights went on and off fast and vehicle dash went black and truck died while turning causing me to hit a car. Moving about 5 to 10 mph
While driving, the radio and all other electric components will go dark or quit working altogether, including the ac blower, compressor, headlights, etc. Sometime i get the stabilitrack alert with 3 or 4 tones, which resets automatically. When waiting in a drive through line today, when i depress the brake pedal, it happens again. While waiting in line, i sometimes put the transmission in park. When i depress the brake, and move the transmission control into drive, it happens, and more frequently, the engine shuts off. When turning the wheel, the power steering seems to go out, making it almost impossible to turn the vehicle, all the while the stabilitrack alarm goes off, the headlights go dark, the ac shuts down, the dash display goes dark, the door locks cycle up and down, and the engine shuts down. Today, it almost caused me not to negotiate turning from a major road into a parking lot. I lost all power to the steering, the engine shut down, and my brakes were non-existent. After reading other complaints on here, i decided i needed to tell my story. I received the recall notices, and have not ventured to the dealership for repairs, fearing exposure to the covid-19 virus. After reading everyone else's problems, and hearing that even the recall repairs do not fix the problem, i cannot help but wonder if there is more going on here than gm is willing to admit. I will not let my wife drive this vehicle, because if it happens to her, there is no way she can maneuver a stalled vehicle with no power steering and no brakes. So it looks i have the same story as others, and no real solution to my problem that the dealerships are willing to fix, or even admitting that there is a problem.

A few months after purchasing from dealer check engine light came on solid. Brought to dealer. Vehicle was shaking and running rough.. Dealer diagnosed issue as faulty fuel pressure sensor. They replaced the part through my extended warranty. A few months later the check engine light cane on blinking same issue vehicle shaking and running rough. Took to dealer immediately. They diagnosed as bad fuel injector. They claimed the ecm went bad caused by the bad fuel injector. They replaced ecm and fuel injectors costing thousands. They convinced me i had to pay for a "platinum fuel injection service" after it was replaced. This was another $300. I was promised the issue was fixed. I was told if check engine light came back on for same issue it would be covered "under good faith"... Well 2 weeks later the check engine light came back on after hardly even using the truck... I had my family in the truck for a planned family even and had to pull off in the sweltering heat to pay for a tow truck to come get my vehicle.... Now it sits over at the dealer again... They want me to pay a diagnostic again. And it has not even been looked at. For the amount i paid for this truck it is dangerous untrustworthy and embarrassing. After reading all these complaints for fuel injectors gone bad at early life, why is this not recalled?
While driving, warning message on dic comes on and say power steering needs service. Power steering completely fails. Truck becomes very difficult to steer. Not only does it not help, but the steering motor makes it harder to turn. This is the third episode of this. The first two times it reset. The first time i took it to dealer and they said they could see codes in history but could not find a problem so unless it was actively doing it there was nothing they could fix (cost me $200) the second time it reset before i could make an appointment. This time it has lasted two days. If it doesn't reset i will take it in without an appointment for them to look at.
2016 CHEVY Silverado 1500 4X4, 35K MILES. CREW CAB.AIR BAG SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK TO DEALER, PAID TO HAVE FIXED. ONE MONTH LATER LIGHT COMES ON AGAIN. I FELT UNDER DRIVERS SEAT, TOUCHED SOME WIRES, LIGHT NO LONGER ON. NOW 42K MILES LIGHT BACK ON. OF COURSE IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY, PAST THE 36 MONTH PERIOD. GM MUST BE AWARE OF THIS ISSUE. LIGHT CAME ON AS SOON AS I START THE TRUCK.LIGHT STAYS ON.
I will drive down the road and the display goes black on dash and i hear clicking sound and truck shuts off. Steering wheel has locked up making turns, left or right. Issues mostly happen when driving extended period of times but has cut off with short trips and parking, backing in. These issues started around dec 2019 and increased in frequency this year 2020.

The steering wheel gets hard to turn at low speeds like it? S going out. When i stop and turn the wheel the headlights dim.
When backing out of the driveway i lost power steering - this happened after recalls were performed. On the third visit to the dealer i was asked to pay for additional diagnosis to resolve the reoccurring power steering issue. Walked out of dealership, wasted my morning.
OUR 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 WAS PURCHASED NEW FROM THE DEALERSHIP IN AUGUST 2017. THE TIRES THAT CAME WITH THE TRUCK ARE CONTINENTAL CROSSCONTACT LX20. I BEGAN TO NOTICE CHUNKS OF RUBBER TREAD COMING OFF OF ALL 4 TIRES WHEN THEY HAD APPROXIMATELY 27,000 MILES. I HAD THEM INSPECTED AT THE DEALERSHIP DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS. I WAS TOLD IT WAS NORMAL WEAR FOR THESE TIRES. THE TIRES ARE RATED FOR 70,000 MILES. I CURRENTLY HAVE 36,500 MILES ON MY VEHICLE AND TOOK IT IN FOR REGULAR MAINTENANCE AND TIRE ROTATION. I WAS TOLD THAT THE TIRES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO PITTING AND CHUNKING. THERE IS GOOD TREAD LEFT ON THE TIRES, HOWEVER THE RUBBER IS COMING OFF IN HUGE CHUNKS ON ALL 4 TIRES. THE MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN CONTACTED TO ADDRESS MY CONCERNS.
While traveling eastbound on interstate 10 from van horn to fort stockton at approximately 85 mph with a semi parallel on the right hand lane and an suv directly behind me no more than 3 car lengths away, the check engine light activated and all power was lost. When the engine shutdown luckily the suv behind me was able to slow down after i immediately activated my emergency flashers and i was able to safely, after almost causing an accident, move over to the right hand shoulder/grass area. After having truck towed to the nearest chevy/gm dealership in pecos tx, the diagnosis was a faulty fuel pump estimated cost over $800. This is a serious safety issue when traveling on the highway and the fuel pump goes out and should be looked at by nhtsa.
I was driving and lost all power i had no lights no steering no breaks and then everything came back on this is very very dangerous research it and there is a lot of people having the same problems something needs to be done
Air conditioning stopped cooling over the course of just a few days, to the point of zero cooling. Refilled refrigerant, worked for about 3 days, then stopped again. Happened during all phases of driving, whether moving or stopped.
The silverado "myllink" information center changes screens randomly while driving. This creates a distraction to the drive as they return to the desired screen and setting. The screens and functions change every minute or so.
