While driving at highway speed, power steering completely stopped working. After pulling over and restarting, everything was normal. It happened again today while driving in town.
Vehicle repeatedly loses power assist steering accompanied by a chime and warnings. This occurs without warning under all driving conditions. It represents a very dangerous situation. Power steering can be restored by stopping and restarting the vehicle, and remains functional for variable times before again failing. I have reported this previously and did not hear anything with regards to some resolution. This is a clear vehicle safety issue and gm, from what i can find is well aware of it. The date i give for the incident is just the most recent.
Driving down 4 ln rd, slowed to make left hand turn , two messages pop up and says" service stabilitrak and service power steering drive. " then i had loss of power steering assistance in making turn. Proceed to service staion to check power steerin fluid, couldn't find so asked cell phane where it was located, found there was no such thing and was tod model under recall for power steering problems. Decided best get it home so restarted truck------everything fine. Called to see about recall and was told not valid for my vehicle. So scheduled a service reuest at a lcal chevy dealer.
While driving to work on 7/23/20 at 45mh i lost power steering and stability control, warning light came on and (lost of power steering and stability malfunction) came on the dash. Had to pull to the side of the road and turned the truck off, waited 10min then triad to start it and it reset itself. Then on 7/25/20 it happened again only this time i was on the freeway doing 65mh with my wife and almost caused an accident going around an overpass. Because it's the only vehicle i have to go to work i decided to take it 7/28/20 and on the way home it did it again only this time it caused the wheels to skip, scared the sh%t out of me. I read there was a recall so i called the dealer but they say my truck dose not fall under the recall. This is a huge safety concern and after doing some research on the internet i'm not alone. This needs to be fixed and i shouldn't have to pay for this.
Vehicle will not release ignition key when shutting car off. Car is in park and ignition will not turn to release key takes many attempts and considerable time before key will release. It has happened multiple times in past 2 years.
The ignition key does not release after engine is shut down.
My 2018 chevrolet zr2 started to hard shift between first and second gear. It also sounds like it is running over rumble strips when driving between 50-75mph. When i researched this issue, i found thousands of issues online that matched this problem 100 percent. It is called the chevy shake or the gmc shutter. Mind you, the dealership verified that they have been sent kits from gm to correct these issues. It? S called the tcc shudder.
I was driving in a heavy rain storm, on the highway, and the right windshield wiper just stopped. A few minutes later, the left wiper stopped working. I was able to move to the side of the road, since i couldn't see to drive, and i could hear the motor working, but the wipers were not moving.
ON JULY 27,2020, MY WIFE WENT TO BAYVIEW TX TO SEE THE EFFECT OF HURRICANE HANNA AT OUR FARM. ON THEIR WAY BACK HOME, THE CHEVY Colorado GAVE A WARNING THAT IT GOT OVERHEATED. SURE ENOUGH, THE VEHICLE SPLATTERED A GOOD AMOUNT OF COOLANT/WATER IN THE ENTIRE UNDERHOOD OF THE VEHICLE. SO SHE PARKED THE VEHICLE BY THE ROADSIDE AND I CALLED THE MY INSURANCE PROVIDER FOR ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE.
Happened 3 time now. Each time i was driving slowly, idling along, in parking lot. Each time i was in gear (drive) moving at idling speed e. G. Parking lot crawl. All electrical shuts off just like i had turned the key off. All lights off, ac off, radio off, engine off, everything off. No warning lights, nothing - just turns off. Vehicle restarts fine with no immediate recurrence. For some reason it simple turns itself off. It? S going to be bad if this happens when pulling out into traffic.
On 7/22/20 driving home from work when the stabilitrack service light came on and the power steering service soon light came on. After about 30 seconds the light went off. On 7/16/20 the stabilitrack service light came on twice and went off on the way home from walmart. Both times were on a straight highway speeds of about 65 with the power steering going out for 30 seconds.
MY Colorado HAS BEEN HAVING A PROBLEM WHERE MY POWER STEERING CUTS OUT WHILE DRIVING AND ON STARTUP, I RESEARCHED AND IT SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM AND A RECALL, I CONTACTED MY LOCAL DEALER EXPLAINED TO THEM WHAT WAS GOING ON AND I WAS TOLD THAT IT DID HAVE THE RECALL FOR MY EXACT ISSUE BUT THAT IT HAD ALREADY BEEN FIXED, IT ABSOLUTELY HAS NOT OR NEEDS TO BE FIXED AGAIN, IT?S AN EXTREME HAZARD IT HAPPENS DAILY AT THIS POINT AND I REALLY DO NOT KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO. I DO NOT KNOW WHO DID THE REPAIRS THE FIRST TIME I BOUGHT THE TRUCK USED BUT I WAS TOLD THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN TAKEN CARE OF BUT IT HAS NOT PLEASE HELP THANKS.
Stabilitrak and power steering error indicator on start up. Restarted truck and fixed the issue until driving city streets for a couple of miles and the stabilitrak and power steering suddenly turned off while driving with the same indicators on my dash. Rest of truck seems to be working fine. No check engine light. Just service stabilitrak and loss of power steering indicator on dash board
I'm driving down the road at about 45 miles an hour and i got two messages pop up and says service stabilitrak and service power steering drive. Than i had total loss of power steering at 45 miles an hour.
When in motion my car tends to shudder, i've taken this to the chevrolet dealership before and they told me it was my alignment and i needed to get 4 new tires along with it. The price they quoted me was way too expensive so i took it to les scwab and got two new tires and did an alignment. Months later the same issues, i took it to big o tires and did another 4 wheel alignment and balancing, although this made it a little better, the shuddering continues.
The steering assist failed and warning messages appeared on the console for both the steering assist and the stabiltract system. I head the truck towed to the new smyrna beach chevrolet dealer to have their? Trained mechanics repair the failure. Two days later after having called the service rep and the service manager asking for a return call with the status and getting no such calls i was finally able to elicit the cashiers help in determining the status of my truck. So i paid a $200 diagnostic fee and was told i needed a new battery to fix the steering failure. I bought their $150 battery with the assurances that all is back in working order. I drive the truck about 1/4 mile down the road and the steering assist quit again. Not only is chevrolet allowing this dangerous malfunction to continue but their allowing this scam of $200 diagnostic fee and telling customers they need a new $150 battery which doesn? T have anything to do with the steering failure. I? M buying a ford or dodge as soon as i can. No more chevrolet for me.
THURSDAY MORNING I GOT INTO MY Colorado Z71 TRUCK WHICH WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY. THE VEHICLE STARTED UP BUT THE STEERING WAS LOCKED UP,I.E., VERY TIGHT. UPON PUTTING THE TRUCK INTO REVERSE TO BACK OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY I NOTICED HOW VERY STIFF AND ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE THEN SAT IN THE VEHICLE, STILL IN THE DRIVEWAY, THEN I TRIED STARTING THREE MORE TIMES WHERE THE ENGINE STARTED UP FINE BUT THE STEERING WAS STILL EXTREMELY STIFF. I CALLED FOR A TOW TRUCK TO COME TAKE MY TRUCK TO THE NEAREST CHEVROLET DEALER. JUST BEFORE HE WAS TO ARRIVE I WENT TO MOVE MY TRUCK INTO THE STREET SO IT COULD BE LOADED ON THE TOW TRUCK?S FLATBED. THE POWER STEERING HAD RETURNED BUT I WAS AFRAID TO TRY AND DRIVE THE TRUCK FOR FEAR THE POWER STEERING WOULD QUIT AGAIN. I?M WRITING THIS COMPLAINT TWO DAYS LATER AND THE NSB CHEVROLET HAS YET TO PUT IT THE SHOP. THE TRUCK IS OUR ONLY VEHICLE BUT MY WIFE AND I ARE.BOTH AFRAID TO TRY AND DRIVE IT.
