TL THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 Ford Escape. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. THE CONTACT STATED NO WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO GEM CITY FORD INC LOCATED AT 5101 BROADWAY ST, QUINCY, IL 62305, (877) 571-7953, TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE CAMSHAFT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 118,000.

At 62,000 the engine fault light came on. I took it to the dealership and was told it was leaking coolant into the cylinder head and i needed a new engine. My car was just at the dealership 3 weeks prior with no issues notes. I take my car in for work every 3 months. When i was told i needed a new engine, i was told this was a known problem with the engine.

Most of the time that i start the vehicle it makes a squealing sound, it only lasts as long as i am in park or if i am in reverse. Once i put the vehicle into drive the sound stops. I have taken the vehicle into the dealership on more than one occasion and i have even recorded the sound but i have been told that there is no noise. Another issue that i have had is a foul odor coming from the vents. It originally started during the winter months, then continued through the summer. This happens every time that i turn on the heater and sometimes when i turn on the ac. I have taken it to the dealership and one mechanic did smell it but they couldn't find anything wrong with it so they put a cherry scent in it and gave it back to me. If i need the heater on i have to drive around with a window open to keep from smelling the bad odor of burnt hair/harsh chemical. Both of these happen while the vehicle is stationary and in motion. I dropped my car off on 2/20/20

The suv was struck from the rear at highway speed (65 mph) by a tow truck and forced head on into the guard rail. The car is a total loss with damage to the front, rear and all corners. The airbags did not deploy. The driver was treated and released for non-life threatening injuries and continues to be treated for the same injuries

THE GEAR SHIFT DID NOT MOVE AT ALL WHEN SHE TRIED TO PUT IT INTO REVERSE. THE INDICATOR LIGHT STATED THE VEHICLE [XXX] IN NEUTRAL. A RELATIVE WAS ABLE TO POP THE BUSHING BACK IN FOR A TEMPORARY FIX. I WAS DRIVING MY 2015 Ford Escape DOWN THE HIGHWAY. AS I WAS GETTING READY TO GET IN TRAFFIC TO EXIT MY BRAKES WOULDN?T PRESS DOWN. TRYING FRANTICALLY AND AS HARD AS I COULD I COULDN?T GET MY BRAKES TO PRESS DOWN TO SLOW. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO DOWN SHIFT MY CAR AND USE THE E-BRAKE TO GET TO A SHOULDER AND AVOID AN ACCIDENT. I HAD A FRIEND WHO?S A MECHANIC CHECK OUT MY CAR AND HE TOLD ME IT WAS MY VACUUM PUMP FOR MY BRAKES. HE ALSO NOTED WHEN HE SAW WHAT MY CAR WAS AND THAT IT WAS AN ECO BOOST THAT THIS PROBLEM IS WHAT THEY REFER TO AS A SOCCER MOM KILLER. HE?S SEEN THIS BEFORE. WHEN THE PUMP FAILS IT SHOOTS SHRAPNEL INTO MY TURBO THEN INTO THE ENGINE CAUSING SERIOUS DAMAGE THAT WILL COST ME $5000-8000 TO FIX NOW. I HAVE SEEN OTHER FORD MODELS WITH THIS PROBLEM THAT HAVE RECALLS ALREADY BUT NOT MY SPECIFIC MAKE AN MODEL.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2017 FORD Escape. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY EXPERIENCED UNINTENDED ACCELERATION CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO CRASH INTO A PARKING POLE. AS A RESULT, THE POLE DETACHED, MOVED 11 MILLIMETERS AND FELL ON TOP OF ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT WAS PARKED. DURING THE INCIDENT THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. NO POLICE REPORT WAS TAKEN. THE MANUFACTURER AND LOCAL DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE INCIDENT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,000.

THE LOCAL DEALER COLUMBIA FORD LOCATED AT 234 WILLIMANTIC RD, COLUMBIA, CT 06237, AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,000.

2016 Ford Escape WHILE DRIVING THE CAR GOES INTO LIMP MODE ESPECIALLY ON HOT DAYS. WHILE DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY WITH MY FAMILY IN THE CAR, THE VEHICLE JUST SHUTS DOWN AND I PRAY THAT I CAN GET OVER TO THE SHOULDER TO TURN IT OFF AND LET IT REST. IS NOT PULLING ANY CODES SO THEY CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED. I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE BRAND NEW. IT IS SCARY KNOWING IT COULD SHUT DOWN AT ANY TIME WHILE I AM DRIVING WITH MY FAMILY IN IT. FORD NEEDS TO FIX THIS PROBELM ASAP!

While operating vehicle, get overheat warning on info center. Park vehicle within 5 minutes. Check level next day, no coolant in reservoir. Add almost one gallon of premix coolant. No sign of coolant leak. Twenty minutes later check engine light come on. Contact local dealer, made appointment nearly a week later. In that time check engine light came on and secured one more time. Diagnostic computer at dealership, told them to replace short block.

Transmission failed with no warning. Driving home one day, getting off the highway, the car had a delay in accelerating and would then suddenly lurch forward. Tried to make it home with the car, eventually a "transmission fault" message came up. Had the car towed to a ford dealership service center (capital ford, raleigh nc). It took over two weeks for them to look at my car. They then called and told me that the "torque converter had come apart" and that i needed a full transmission replacement for $7500. My car is four years old and barely outside of the powertrain mileage warranty. This is absolutely absurd.

Engine failure due to coolant intrusion into the no. 2 cylinder resulted in a complete engine replacement. After taking 5 weeks to repair i picked up the vehicle only to have the transmission fail after driving a couple of hundred miles.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 Ford Escape. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNDISCLOSED SPEED, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED WITH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BEING DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AUTOMATIC FOUR WHEEL DRIVE AND HILL DESCENT DISABLED MESSAGES WERE DISPLAYED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. ADDITIONALLY, THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER NOR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,091.

Starting approximately of april of this year, noticed that the car was surging and "missing" on start. Thought it may have been a spark plug or such going bad and it wasn't happening with every start. Then middle of may, it was daily on every start and was surging harder and sputtering. The tachometer would even rise and fall in quick succession. On may 20th, the engine light came on and took it to my dealership. Before even looking at my vehicle, after describing to them what was happening, they already knew what was wrong and what the remedy would be. They still put my car on the computer and looked it over, but came out with the conclusion that the engine would need rebuilt. Fast forward 2 months later, finally got all the parts in to rebuild the engine, however my dealership is small and do not have a loaner vehicle for me at this time. I am understanding of that. But the car is now doing this on every start regardless if i just stopped at the post office for 5 minutes. This morning, it sputtered hard and then shut off for the first time. It is also affecting how it shifts from p to d and can tell a difference when taking off from a stop. Called ford to see if they acknowledged this issue, they kept circling back to the dealership and the impending repair. I finally stated that i just wanted to know if ford was acknowledging this issue and was referred to a regional customer service manager named jessica. She calls and was less than friendly and kept throwing the word "recall" around, but there is no active recall. She kept saying that my vehicle was getting repaired for a recall, and i told her no, it is getting repaired because i reported issues with my vehicle. I'm over it. I do not feel safe in my vehicle and have read other complaints that others have had to have multiple rebuilds of their engine and the problem never solved.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,000.

SITTING AT STOP LIGHT (HIGHWAY) LIGHT TURNED GREEN PRESSED ACCELERATOR .CAR'S RPMS WENT UP CAR DID NOT MOVE. I WAS THE AT THE STOP LIGHT, CARS APPROACHING FAST. FORTUNATE LIGHT TRAFFIC ALL CARS WERE ABLE TO SWITCH LANES WITH OUT ANY MISHAPS. INDICATOR "SERVICE TRANSMISSION NOW" WENT ON CAR LUNGED A FEW TIMES THEN MOVED FORWARD. EACH TIME I STOPPED SAME EVENT OCCURRED. I DROVE BACKROADS AS NOT TO INTERFERE WITH MAJOR TRAFFIC AND FEARFUL OF NOT MOVING AND CREATING A MAJOR INCIDENT. NO PRIOR SYMPTOMS IT JUST HAPPENED. 2015 Ford Escape.

DURING THE ANNUAL MAINE STATE VEHICLE INSPECTION, THE 2017 Ford Escape SE FAILED DUE TO A SAFETY ISSUE. THE FAILURE WAS IN RELATION TO BAD REAR LATERAL LINKS LEFT AND RIGHT REAR KNUCKLE AND HUB ASSEMBLY BUSHINGS. THE VEHICLE WAS WITHIN THE THREE-YEAR BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY BUT WAS 321 MILES OVER THE 36,000 MILEAGE LIMIT. WHEN AN APPOINTMENT WAS BEING MADE FOR THE $1,900 REPAIR, I WAS ADVISED BY A FORD SERVICE ASSOCIATE THAT THE ASSEMBLIES WERE BACK-ORDERED TO AT LEAST THE END OF AUGUST (45 DAYS). SEEMS THAT MANY OTHERS ARE HAVING THE SAME SAFETY ISSUES WITH THIS PART.

Follow up... Panoramic sunroof exploded on 7-17-20. Verified by insurance appraiser on 7-20-20. Nobody will cover! Sunbury motors refusing under warranty and insurance says? Defect? !!!! Very dangerous!!!!!!
