The navigation screen was stuck on the backup camera and wouldn? T go back to normal until i shut the vehicle off and it sat for almost an hour. Then the screen locked up again on the audio screen and wouldn? T allow movement to any other area.
I noticed the rear sunroof window has a very strange and circular crack that follows how the antenna is placed on top of vehicle. There is no impact or damage around the window or the framing surrounding the window. I discovered the damage while washing the top of the vehicle. We do not sit in the back of the car (only the 2 of us) and very rarely open the shade to allow the light into the vehicle. It was not there a couple months ago, the last time i got up high enough to wash the top. I took the vehicle to a local dealership for inspection, the service guy found no impact damage but very slightly felt the glass "catch" ever so slightly while running a pen over the glass. The "catch" is a piece of glass cracked on 2 sides and being pushed up by the pressure of the cracked, moving glass. According to the inspector, this "catch" is a problem and he does not think ford will take the blame for their design flaw. This window is clearly a design flaw, there is no other explanation when you look at the way the crack follows the contour of the antenna. I have pictures on my phone but i do not download or have the ability to send them at this time.
2nd cylinder leaking coolant. Engine needs to be replaced.
I was driving going 35 mph accelerating to 40 mph as i was on the inside lane of three lanes entering the state highway to go over the bridge when my indicator light came on showing over heating and i lost power. I immediately had to pull off the road and waited 1 1/2 hours for engine to cool down to check my engine. When i checked i had no coolant in my radiator. I spoke to a ford service employee and they said get it to them to check out. They inspected and tell me there is a service bulletin 19-2346 stating the defect. A known defect causing dangerous situations for unaware car owners. Ford has told me they will not take responsibility for their known defective issue and want $ 7,000. 00 to replace whole engine. Currently it is at ford being repaired at my expense but hopefully our government officials or a lawyer can help redeem this situation.
Adaptive steering fault service required light is on. Car pulls to the right ever since light came on. Took it in for service at 37,000 miles and ford refuses to repair this safety malfunction under any type of warranty. I purchased extended platinum insurance coverage because i bought this vehicle used 1 year ago. Light comes on everything i turn the vehicle on. I'm concerned for my safety driving, especially at high speeds on the freeway.
Check engine light came on. I took to fox ford dealership where i bought it for servicing. Diagnosed: coolant leaking into cylinders technical service bulletin 19-2346 2. 0l ecoboost engine must be replaced i have owned the vehicle for 11 months. Ford company not willing to assist - denied request i sent proof that the vehicle was maintained well for the 11 months i have owned it.
The adaptive steering module integrated in the rack and pinion shorted and one can no longer use the adaptive steering feature. The nhtsa recalled the steering wheel with the electric adaptive steering motor, however nhtsa did not recall the rack and pinion with the defective adaptive electronics. I'm lucky my steering wheel failed straight and did not cause the steering wheel to be cocked. I would like to prevent car manufacturers from integrating electronics into non-serviceable components. The only way to resolve the adaptive steering failure is to replace the rack and pinion. Going forward all automotive manufactures should not be allowed to integrate non-serviceable electronics with mechanical parts. The vehicle was stationary and i tried to modify the settings for the adaptive steering in driver assist settings. The adaptive steering feature is no longer available since the electronics shorted. Why recall the steering wheel and not the electronics in the rack and pinion. It does not add up because it was an 50% repair. Why bother with the recall if you did not address the entire problem. The adaptive steering electrical components in the rack should be a removable module so you can repair the electronics without having the change the entire rack and pinion.
Check engine light came on at startup, engine rough idle. Took to nazareth ford, nazareth, pa, car diagnosed with coolant leak into cylinder, a common issue with this engine as described by mechanic. Engine replacement is the only fix. Quoted between $6,000 and $7000 repair. Vehicle currently at service station awaiting parts. Current milage: 61000+
Have owned the car for 10 months. Car has 64, 000 miles. I bought it with 52,500 miles in august 2019 from fox ford in grand rapids, mi. Engine light came on took to mechanic mechanic diagnosed an engine issue with a technical service bulletin (tsb) 19-2346: 2. 0l ecoboost coolant in cylinders took to ford dealership.. Same diagnosis and said i need a new engine. Fox ford quoting me 6000. 00 minimum for parts. Possibly 8000. 00 with labor.
Sun roof glass has cracked and has been advancing as time progresses, it cannot be felt from under or top of the glass.

ON 7/16/2020 MY 2017 Ford Edge EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF BRAKES WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS WAS APPROACHING A BUSY INTERSECTION WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKE HAD TO BE USED TO AVOID A COLLISION. THE VEHICLES LOW BRAKE FLUID LIGHT CAME ONE AND A LARGE POOL OF FLUID WAS COMING FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER WHEEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOW BACK TO MY HOUSE AND UPON INVESTIGATION THE FRONT PASSENGER BRAKE LINE HAD BURST. THERE WAS NO SIGN OF PRIOR DAMAGE OR UNUSUAL WEAR. THE VEHICLE HAS 63,000 MILES.
Ford Edge ECOBOOST 2.0L COOLANT LIGHT CAME ON AROUND 60K MILES, WHILE DRIVING. SERVICE SHOP FOUND CODE P0217(ENGINE COOLANT EXCESS TEMPERATURE). LATER TOOK IT TO FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY ADVISED COOLANT IS LEAKING FROM ENGINE AND A NEW ENGINE WOULD BE REQUIRED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 Ford Edge. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE REVVED UP BUT FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER AND TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE CONTACTED. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 40,000.
At about 48,000 miles the 2. 0l ecoboost engine had a check engine light. Brought it to ford dealer and they said it was a coolant leak and it needed new engine. Vehicle still under warranty so engine will be replaced without cost. But i know others have had this problem. They need to issue a recall or warranty.
VEHICLE HAS STALLED MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE DRIVING OR STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT WITHOUT WARNING. "ACCESSORY POWER" REMAINS ON SO LIGHTS, POWER STEERING ETC. THE FIRST TWO TIMES IT HAPPENED I WAS AT A STOP LIGHT AND HAD TO PLACE THE CAR IN PARK TO RESTART THE VEHICLE WHICH TOOK MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS UNTIL THE VEHICLE WOULD REMAIN RUNNING. TODAY THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE COMING OFF OF A HIGHWAY, I HAD TO PULL OVER MULTIPLE TIMES TO RESTART THE VEHICLE WHEN EVER I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE GAS AS THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL. I BARELY MADE IT TO WORK. I AM WONDERING WHY THERE IS NOT A RECALL ON THE VEHICLE FOR THIS ISSUE AS FORD DID RECALL THE 2017 Edge FOR SIMILAR PROBLEMS.
First the car started trembling when turning on and loosing power , it continues to get worse , check engine light came on i took it to get checked and it was off. Then eventually it came on flashing, i left it in place to get checked. The mechanic told me it was not worth it to fix it , it was damaged beyond repairable. I? M not exactly sure what happened but i have the report.
AS I WAS DRIVING MY 2016 Ford Edge, I WENT TO STOP AND AS I PRESSED THE BRAKE, IT SLOWED AT THE POINT TO WHERE IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN COMING TO A FULL STOP, THEN THE PEDAL RELEASED AND WAS PUSHED ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR BEFORE IT CAME TO A FULL STOP. THE NEXT FEW STOPS...THE SAME THING HAPPENED. I CALLED MY FORD DEALERSHIP AND ASKED IF IT COULD BE LOW ON BRAKE FLUID, EVEN THOUGH NO INDICATOR DISPLAYED ON MY DASH. THEY SAID IT COULD BE A NUMBER OF THINGS. BUT AS I CONTINUED TO DRIVE AND STOP, IT GOT WORSE. THANKFULLY, INSTEAD OF JUMPING ON THE HIGHWAY, I TOOK ALL BACK ROADS TO THAT DEALERSHIP. AS SOON AS THE TECH GOT IN THE DRIVERS SEAT AND PUSHED THE PEDAL, TO TAKE FOR A TEST DRIVE, HE TOLD ME ?THIS THING IS NOT GOING ANYWHERE?. HE GOT UNDERNEATH, HAD ME PUSH THE PEDAL, AND FLUID ?SPRAYED LIKE A WATER FOUNTAIN.? HE SAID HE CAN SEE THAT THE BRAKE LINE HAD SPILT. THIS WAS THE DRIVERS SIDE (LEFT FRONT) BRAKE LINE.
MY 2017 Ford Edge 2.0L ECOBOOST, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WITH CODE OF P0302, AFTER CHANGING THE SPARK PLUGS AND COIL PACKS, FINALLY TOOK IT TO OUR LOCAL DEALERSHIP, BANNER FORD IN MANDEVILLE, LA AND AFTER A DIAGNOSTIC WAS FOUND TO HAVE "COOLANT INTRUSION ON CYLINDER #2, AND WAS TOLD THAT FORD WOULD NOT SELL THE PARTS TO REPAIR THE ENGINE, BUT THAT THE ENTIRE ENGINE HAD TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE FORD HAD CHANGED THE DESIGN ON THE ENGINE AND GASKETS. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL, NOT A TSB, AS I HAVE FOUND MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS AND THEY ALL HAVE CONTACTED FORD WITH THE SAME RESULTS, SO FORD IS WELL AWARE OF THIS ISSUE, COMPLAINTS GO BACK AS FAR AS 2015 AND ALL ARE AROUND THE 65K TO 70K MILE MARK. FORD KNOWS ABOUT THIS BY REDESIGNING THE ENGINES AND THE GASKETS. I AM LOOKING AT AN $8500 ENGINE REPLACEMENT BILL BECAUSE I AM OUT-OF-WARRANTY.
