Steering wheel "sticks." I has been doing it since around 40,000 miles. It has gotten worse with time. While driving in straight line after it warms up the steering wheel does not move when trying to make micro adjustments and then when it does it jerks and causes the driver to overcompensate. Makes driving very tiring and unsafe. It is difficult to keep the car driving straight when tis happens. I can see there have been recalls regarding this problem with newer Civics, like 22-23, but mine has been doing it and it is a 2017. Last time it happened was recently while my drive was driving and I was out of town on 3/15/24.

Started vehicle and proceeded to drive forward in my driveway when smoke started coming in the vehicle. Noticed after driving that the smoke was coming in the vehicle from under the glove box on the passenger side by the floor mat. Within approximately two minutes a flame ignited in which the dashboard caught on re. The whole inside on the vehicle was destroyed & totaled the whole vehicle. I have about 25 more pictures of the car (after the re and during) that i couldnt send via this webform. If you need them i would be happy to email them to you directly.

2020 Honda PILOT
  • Date of Incident: Dec-15, 2023
  • Date complaint filed: Mar-27, 2024
  • Failed components: FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

We received a recall notification in december 2023 for fuel the pump on this vehicle. Now we’re being told that a replacement may not be available until fall which means it could be a year since the notice until the repair. With the possibility of an instant failure (as the notice said was possible) how is this vehicle safe to drive at freeway speed in let’s say wv with the power brakes, steering, etc. Out of commission? Suppose it breaks down in elko, nv? There’s no dealer for 200 miles. These repairs need to be made immediately or honda needs to buy the vehicle back. The issue is beyond a possible inconvenience it’s dangerous.
