The digital display that contains information on mileage and fuel levels frequently malfunctions, either going completely blank or rapidly flashing random characters (letters and numbers). This seems to happen in colder weather but for my vehicle has also been happening in warmer (up to 75 degrees f). Issue happens while parked or in motion- any time car is on. A quick search of vehicle owner forums online returns multiple complaints of the same issue. Honda has made no attempts to remedy this despite it being a known issue. Not being able to check the fuel gauge is a safety issue. The flashing is also extremely distracting while driving. This has been happening to my vehicle for years and i finally took it to get fixed at honda now. They charge $179 just to? Diagnose? The issue even though it seems they should be aware of it.

2015 Honda Fit (WITH APPROX. 24K MILES). BATTERY WILL LOSE CHARGE AFTER CAR IS NOT USED / SITS FOR THREE (3) TO FOUR (4) DAYS WITH ALL LIGHTS / RADIO / ACCESSORIES TURNED OFF. BATTERY HAS BEEN REPLACED THREE TIMES, MOST RECENTLY AUGUST 2020. REPLACEMENT BATTERY IS PROPERLY SIZED FOR THE VEHICLE. THE ELECTRICAL ISSUE IS CAUSING A PARASITIC DRAIN ON THE BATTERY. DEALER REPS HAVE STATED THIS IS A WELL-RECOGNIZED PROBLEM WITH THE FIT MODEL. RECOMMENDATION IS THAT THE CAR BE DRIVEN AT LEAST 10 TO 15 MILES EVERY DAY OR 2ND DAY. THE RECOMMENDATION DRIVE THE VEHICLE EVERY DAY / 2ND DAY IS NOT ONLY EXPENSIVE IN TERMS OF GAS COSTS BUT ALSO NEEDLESSLY CONTRIBUTES TO POLLUTION AND (PERHAPS BY DESIGN) EARLY VEHICLE OBSOLESCENCE. THIS IMPORTANT SAFETY DEFECT IS MOST LIKELY CAUSED BY A DEFECTIVE ELECTRICAL LOAD DETECTOR (ELD) UNIT IN THE FUSE/RELAY BOX. THIS ELD READS THE AMPERAGE LOAD DIRECTLY FROM THE BATTERY AND SENDS A VARIED VOLTAGE SIGNAL TO THE PCM WHICH REGULATES THE SIGNAL TO THE ALTERNATOR. THE ELD IS DIRECTLY CONNECTED TO THE PCM. THE PCM IS CONNECTED TO THE ALTERNATOR, NOT THE ELD. THE ELD MONITORS THE AMPERAGE REQUIREMENTS AND INFORMS THE PCM AS TO WHAT TO DO. THE ELD WILL VARY THE OUTPUT BETWEEN .1 TO 4.8 VOLTS TO THE ECU. THIS REFERENCE VOLTAGE IS WHAT TELLS THE ECU TO INCREASE OR DECREASE THE FIELD STRENGTH IN THE ALTERNATOR. AS THE CURRENT IS RAMPED UP OR DOWN THE ELD RATCHETS THE OUTPUT VOLTAGE TO THE PCM TO COMPENSATE FOR THE LOAD. I WAS TOLD THAT A HONDA BULLETIN STATED: SYMPTOM: THE CAR WILL NOT START AFTER SITTING FOR A WEEK. PROBABLE CAUSE: THE ELD IS FAULTY OR HAS A FAULTY SOLDER JOINT. SOLUTION: - REPLACE THE UNDER HOOD FUSE/RELAY BOX. THIS IS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY. HONDA MOTORS SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO RECALL THESE CARS TO FIX THE ELD / PCM PARTS / ALTERNATOR COMPUTER PROGRAM AND UP SIZE THE BATTERIES TO HANDLE THE PARASITIC DRAW.

The gauge cluster that includes the odometer and fuel gauge intermittently go blank or glitch when the weather starts to get colder. It happens every time you turn on the car lately, however. This leads me to believe that the gauge cluster is degrading faster now.

I RECENTLY TOOK MY Fit INTO MY LOCAL HONDA DEALERSHIP TO ADDRESS A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THAT DAY IN PARTICULAR, THE VEHICLE HAD A DELAYED ACCELERATION WHEN I WAS HITTING THE GAS PEDAL ON A LOCAL CITY STREET?SOMETHING IT HAD NOT DONE EVER. AT THE TIME OF MY SERVICE, IT WAS EXPLAINED TO ME THAT I WOULD HAVE TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC TEST RUN TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE. I RECEIVED A CALL LATER THAT DAY INFORMING ME OF A ?CYLINDER 3 MISFIRE? THAT WOULD REQUIRE A COIL, SPARK PLUG AND FUEL INDUCTION SERVICE. WE PROCEEDED WITH THE REPAIR AND THE FOLLOWING MORNING I RECEIVED A LINK TO VIEW AN INSPECTION OF MY VEHICLE THAT REPORTED MY VEHICLE AS ?OVERALL STILL LIKE NEW??AND THAT WAS GREAT UNTIL LATER THAT AFTERNOON I WAS NOW TOLD THAT UPON FURTHER INSPECTION I NEEDED MORE REPAIRS. I NOW NEEDED FUEL INJECTORS AND WAS TOLD THAT HONDA WOULD NOT JUST REPLACE THE DAMAGED ONE IN CYLINDER 3 BUT WOULD PROCEED TO CHANGE THEM ALL?SOMETHING I THOUGHT WAS ODD AND COSTLY ($2300) TO SAY THE LEAST! MY SERVICE ASSOCIATE STATED THAT NOTHING WAS UNDER WARRANTY SO THE EXPENSES WOULD BE OUT OF POCKET. AFTER LOOKING INTO DOCUMENTS ON HONDA?S WEBSITE, IT SEEMS THAT EVENTUALLY HONDA IMPROVED THE INJECTORS ON LATER MODELS OF 2016 FITS. THE FRUSTRATING PART FOR ME IS THAT IT FEELS LIKE HONDA WANTS US TO BE OUT OF POCKET FOR AN ISSUE FOUNDED ON CRAFTSMANSHIP THAT IS NOT TO PAR WITH HONDA?S TYPICAL QUALITY. WHEN I ASKED WHY DO ALL 4 HAVE TO BE CHANGED WHEN ONLY ONE IS BAD, I WAS SIMPLY TOLD THAT ? WE WILL NOT JUST REPLACE ONE, ALL FOUR WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED?

I purchased my new vehicle february 2020. These are my electronic vehicle issues: 1) my battery dies when left for several hours with no electronics left on and no after market add on equipment. 2) electronic display looses touch functionality. Battery disconnect restores. 3) radio presets change to channels i would not select. I think a hacker has compromised the gps or cellular phone factory power/connect attachment. These issue stop when the vehicle looses view of the sky. Ie. , metal roof garage. Attached volt meter and vehicle has severe electrical drain for normal 14. 4 to 12. 2 volts. This is variable and unrelated to heavy power draining equipment like "rear window defroster. " electrical system normally drops momentarily during factory equipment initial turn on but quickly returns to 14. 4 volts. At various times while driving, system voltage will remain at 12. 2 volts with no user electrical equipment change. Possible suspect within law enforcement reports. WE HAVE OWNED THE 2019 Fit FOR JUST OVER A YEAR NOW. IT WAS A JOY TO DRIVE WHEN WE FIRST GOT IT.. A FEW MONTHS AGO IT STARTED DRIFTING SIDE TO SIDE.. MOST NOTICEABLE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO KEEP IT TRACKING STRAIGHT ON THE HIGHWAY ANYMORE. IT STARTS TO GO LEFT, AND JUST A SLIGHT STEER TO RIGHT OVERCORRECTS AND THEN IT'S GOING TOO FAR TO THE RIGHT, THEN AGAIN BACK TO THE LEFT. I AM CONSTANTLY BOUNCING BETWEEN THE LANE GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. ALSO THE LANE ASSIST WON'T KEEP THE CAR CENTERED ANYMORE EITHER. IT USED TO WORK GREAT! THE HONDA DEALER SAID EVERYTHING LOOKED GOOD AND DROVE FINE FOR THEM.. STEERING, SUSPENSION, ALIGNMENT, TIRES.. ALL SUPPOSEDLY CHECKS OUT. THIS CAR IS NOW VERY TIRING TO DRIVE AND JUST PLAIN UNSAFE AT THIS POINT. I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO GO FROM HERE. IT'S JUST OVER 21K MILES.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 Honda Fit. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF A NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V314000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE DEALER HONDA OF DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES (780 W MARTIN LUTHER KING JR BLVD, LOS ANGELES, CA 90037, (213) 266-7366) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.

The integrated odometer+fuel gauge display on the dashboard instrument cluster fails intermittently but regularly. Display failure has occurred sporadically many times during several years of car ownership. Frequency and duration of display failure has increased significantly within last 6 months resulting in increased safety hazard since driver is blinded to vehicle fuel status and/or distance driven when display fails. Display failure occurs partially or completely as shown in the attached photos, and sometimes the failure lasts for many miles or multiple days before it self-corrects until the next failure occurs. Display failure occurs sporadically regardless of vehicle being stationary or in motion, but happens much more frequently (almost every other day) during cold weather when air temperature is below 50 degrees.

At 56,000 miles this car needs a starter replacement. According to research, these cars shouldn? T require this until at least 100,000 mikes. This is a great disappointment as i have been a honda owner for about 20 years, and expect much more. The cost to replace this is from $609. 00 -$1100. 00.

MILLER HONDA, MY DEALER GOT A NOTICE OF RECALL ON 5/29/2020 FOR IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL DEFECT IN MY MODEL OF CAR"FUEL PUMP MODULE IMPELLERS MAY ABSORB EXCESSIVE FUEL AND DEFORM CAUSING CAR TO STOP WHILE IN MOTION CAUSING A CAR CRASH. ALSO, WILL FAIL INSPECTION. PARTS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE THEY SAY UNTIL POSSIBLY END OF SUMMER. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND I WANT TO RETURN THE CAR AND MY MONEY REFUNDED BY HONDA MOTORS ON THE LEASE I'VE BEEN PAYING ON. I AM NOT ABLE TO DRIVE MY CAR AND I COULD BE KILLED OR KILL SOMEONE ELSE AND MILLER HONDA CANNOT HELP ME. THERE FORE, I WANT TO RETURN MY VEHICLE 2019 Honda Fit CVT MILEAGE 1,746 MILES. I HAVE NOTICED THE HESITATION IN THE CAR WHILE DRIVING. THANK HEAVEN I WAS NOT KILLED BY NOW AND I NEED A CAR TO DRIVE. THIS CAR CAN NOT BE REPAIRED AND IT HAS BEEN OVER 60DAYS SINCE THE RECALL, WHICH MILLER HID FROM ME, AS WELL AS HONDA MOTORS.

Car would not start intermittently for about a month. Several times it took over 15 minutes to get the car to start. Dealership states after analysis that it is the? Starter?. They said it is not the starter switch, alternator or battery. A new starter installed will cost over $700. This is happening to many honda cars that i? Ve researched on the internet, but honda has no recall on this issue. Something fishy about that.

THE MANUFACTURER HAD YET TO BE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 52,000.

CONTACT STATED PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT WITH FOOT ON THE BRAKE, SLOWING TO A STOP, WHEN SHE WAS ALMOST AT A COMPLETE STOP THE VEHICLE INADVERTENTLY LURCHED FORWARD. THE VEHICLE COLLIDED WITH A CEMENT POLE IN A PARKING GARAGE. THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED AS A RESULT OF THE COLLISION. THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS DUE TO THE DAMAGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE HAD NO CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED DUE TO THE AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT SHE SUSTAINED SORENESS TO THE CHEST THAT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTO BODY REPAIR FACILITY WHERE THE DAMAGES WERE ASSET, HOWEVER THE FAILURE CAUSE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO DETERMINE THE FAILURE CAUSE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE RESEARCHED RECALLS AND FOUND NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V314000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) HOWEVER, HER VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. I was very slowly turning into a parking spot with my foot on the brake, nearly stopped, when the car suddenly lunged forward propelling the car into a cement foundation with such force as to deploy the airbag and severely damage the car (it was later declared a total loss by the insurance company). I felt like the car was out of my control, as though it had a mind of its own. My foot was firmly on the brake and not touching the gas pedal. The car was nearly stopped when this happened. Digital gas gauge includes odometer. Last winter, at about 32 degrees or colder, gauge often either did not work (went blank) or scrambled its info, which was then unreadable. Now, the gauge has begun malfunctioning in july. I fear running out of gas or missing maintenance due to unreliable odometer reading. Both situations could leave me stranded at the side of the road. It doesn't matter whether car is moving or not.
