WE STARTED TAKING OUR 2019 Honda Odyssey TO THE DEALERSHIP IN NOV 2019 ON RADIO/SPEAKER ISSUES. THE SAME PROBLEMS STILL PERSIST AFTER A HANDFUL OF ATTEMPTS AT FIXING WITH NEWER PARTS. THIS IS BECOMING VERY FRUSTRATING AS A CONSUMER, ESPECIALLY AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS AT A SOLUTION. WE HAVE OWNED MULTIPLE NEW HONDA?S, AND QUITE A FEW USED ONES. WE HAVE SEVERAL VIDEOS OF IT GOING OFF AND ON WHILE DRIVING, SITTING STILL, HITTING A BUMP ETC. NOW IT'S TO THE POINT WHERE IT WON'T EVEN COME ON AT ALL WHEN YOU START THE VEHICLE.
Odyssey TRANSMISSION SYSTEM PROBLEM AND BLIND SPOT SYSTEM PROBLEM MESSAGES AND ISSUE SURFACED SEVERAL TIMES WHILE WE WERE DRIVING ON THE TURNPIKE, I WAS UNABLE TO BACKUP THE VEHICLE AT SERVICE PLAZA AND ALSO WAS UNABLE TO BACKUP VEHICLE WHILE PARKING ON OUR HOME DRIVEWAY! NOT ABLE TO BACKUP VEHICLE IS A HUGE SAFETY AND SECURITY ISSUE. I TRIED CALLING HONDA ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE, BUT WAS TOLD TOW TRUCK WAS RESTRICTED ON OHIO TURNPIKE. ISSUE SURFACED SEVERAL TIMES. DEALER LOOKED AT THE ISSUES AND PERFORMED DIAGNOSTIC SERVICE. DEALER DETERMINED ? AFTER CODES WERE CLEARED, ISSUE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED?. I AM NOT CONVINCED THE PROBLEM IS FIXED. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THERE ARE ANY KNOWN ISSUES LIKE THIS ON 2018 ODYSSEY?S WITH 10 SPEED AUTO, ELECTRONIC PRESS BUTTON TRANSMISSION! A CASE 11543835 HAS ALSO BEEN OPENED WITH HONDA , BUT HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY RESPONSE YET.
Power sliding doors sitting on the exterior body when opened. Doors open again right after pressing close button.
MY NEW 2019 Honda Odyssey HAS A VERY DISTINCTIVE ELECTRICAL STATIC/CRACKLING/HISSING NOISE COMING FROM DASHBOARD WHEN DRIVING OR IDLING THAT DOESN?T SOUND NORMAL BUT VERY CONCERNING. WILL TAKE TO DEALER BUT DON?T EXPECT MUCH SINCE I?VE READ AND RESEARCHED THIS ISSUE ON THE INTERNET AND OTHERS HAVE THE SAME ISSUE WITHOUT ANY ACTIONS FROM DEALERSHIPS. DOES NHTSA HAVE ANY ADVICE OR KNOWLEDGE OF THIS ISSUE?

Taking noise at morning calls start
TRYING TO GET A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE ESCALATED AS THE DEALERS (TOOK TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERS) DON'T SEEM TO BELIEVE ME THAT THIS IS HAPPENING. I HAVE A 2016 Honda Odyssey, BOUGHT USED. THE DRIVER SIDE POWER SLIDING DOOR RECENTLY STOPPED OPENING PROPERLY AND STOPS HALF WAY THROUGH OPENING ON OCCASION. THERE IS A FUNDAMENTAL PROGRAMMING ISSUE THAT BY-PASSES THE SAFETY PINCH POINT FEATURE WHEN THE DOOR FAILS TO OPEN AND THE DOOR AUTOMATICALLY STARTS TO CLOSE. THE DOOR STARTS TO CLOSE AND SMASHED MY WIFE BETWEEN THE DOOR AND THE FRAME OF THE VAN. THE PROGRAM SHOULD NOT BY-PASS THE PINCH POINT SAFETY FEATURE IF IT SEES A DOOR FAILURE TO OPEN ALARM. I TESTED THE PINCH POINT SAFETY FEATURE AND IT WORKS PERFECTLY WHEN THE DOOR OPENS AND CLOSES PROPERLY. MY VEHICLE IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY, BUT THIS IS A BIG SAFETY CONCERN AS THAT COULD HAVE BEEN MY KIDS GETTING SMASHED. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND MY WIFE WAS LOADING MY YOUNG KIDS IN TO THE VAN.
THE Honda Odyssey 2015 EX MODEL DOESN?T SEEM TO ALLOW THE PASSENGER TO OPEN AND EXIT FROM THE REAR DOOR IN CASE OF EMERGENCY WHEN THE FOUR SIDES DOORS ARE NOT ACCESSIBLE. THE MORE ADVANCED VERSION EX-L HAS AN AUTOMATIC POWERED DOOR INSTALLED, SO THIS IS NOT A MAJOR ISSUE. I DON?T KNOW IF THERE IS A MANUAL BACKUP OPTION TO OPEN WHEN THE POWER IS DOWN. AS OF NOW, I CAN NOT FIND ANY LEVER FOR A TRAPPED PASSENGER TO OPEN THE DOOR TO ESCAPE FROM THE INSIDE. I DIDN?T REALIZE THIS UNTIL I WAS TRAPPED WHEN MY CAR PARKED ON A VERY CLOSED, TIGHT, AND NARROW PARKING SLOT, AND ALL 4 SIDE DOORS WERE NOT ACCESSIBLE. I REALIZED THERE IS NO WAY TO ESCAPE FROM THE REAR EXCEPT TO BREAK THE REAR WINDOW. I THINK THERE NEEDS TO BE A SAFETY MECHANISM THAT ALLOWS THE TRAPPED PASSENGER TO OPEN THE REAR DOOR FROM THE INSIDE WITHOUT NEEDED TO BREAK THE WINDOW, WHICH CAN COMMONLY OCCUR. IN CASE OF A MAJOR CATASTROPHE, IT WOULD BE THE PASSENGER UNFORTUNATE DOOM. I HOPE HONDA WOULD SOON LOOK INTO INSTALLING AN ESCAPE ROUTE FROM THE REAR DOOR.
There is a vibration when brakes are applied on a downhill especially on a 6% grade. Brakes are fine on a straigt non hill and a minor downhill descent.. Vibration seems to occur only when brakes are applied frequently on a steep downhill. Vibration begins with a minor shake than gradually becomes heavy on the shake feeling on the steering wheel and frontal area of van. The front passenger experience the vibration as well. There are 8 passengers on board including our baggage - 4 adults and 3 kids. We notice this problem only on a long decent on a steep hill whill applying the brakes frequently. We felt insecure and had to let go of the brake pedals frequently just to perhaps cool down the barkes then apply again on staggered times. We reported this to a honda dealer in loma linda and they said its not covered by warranty nor on recall. It was so surprising to hear that because there has been a lot of complaints about this issue and nothing has been done about this dilemma. Its a still a new vehicla and i think there shouldn't even have this sort of problem with only 23000 miles on it and its hardly been used. We only use this for family travels. Pease look investigate on this problem becasuse apparently nothing has been issued to recalls nor covered warrantly especially when its only last year's model 2019!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 Honda Odyssey. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HER HUSBAND WAS DRIVING 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL. THE CONTACT STATED SEVERAL UNKNOWN WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE DRIVER CRUISED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD SAFELY AND HAD THE BRAKE PEDAL DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO LOCAL DEALER HERITAGE HONDA BEL AIR LOCATED AT 1800 BELAIR RD SUITE A, FALLSTON, MD 21047, (410) 343-5644, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NEEDING THE BATTERY TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED HOWEVER, SHE CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE THE FAILURE 45 MINUTES AFTER LEAVING THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9,566.
After puchasing my car, the transmission started slipping on a regular basis. Between 5-40 mph it's like the car doesn't know how to shift gears automatically and jolts every additional 5mph or so. Seems very unstable. It has been a problem since about 28k miles. We're at 51k and it still does it every time we drive. There are no diagnostic codes that show up (we went to several different repair places) and are told it's impossible to do anything about other than rebuild the transmission. This is absolutely not what should happen on a car at less than 30k miles.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 Honda Odyssey. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THE VEHICLE ABRUPTLY SHUTOFF AS SEVERAL WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE MANUFACTURER HAD YET TO BE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 34,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 Honda Odyssey. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE, MULTIPLE ERROR MESSAGES WERE DISPLAYED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL INCLUDING THE TRANSMISSION SYSTEM FAILURE MESSAGE AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SEVERELY SHAKE AND VIBRATE. IN ADDITION, THE BACK-UP CAMERA WOULD NOT OPERATE. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT YET DETERMINED. While in motion at a speed where the vehicle auto locks the doors, the driver's door power lock will attempt to repeatedly lock the car door. The lock appears engaged, however it is not closed as far as the passenger side lock. The locking attempts can be reduced by pushing the lock manually to a fully closed position. The lock still functions and the door cannot be opened, however any attempts to unlock the door with the power locking mechanism are unsuccessful and the door must be manually unlocked from the inside.
The driver-side door power lock does not fully close resulting in an inability to unlock the driver's side door after closing and therefore inhibit entry through that door. Manually pushing in of the lock restores the ability to power-unlock, however it does not restore function to the power locking mechanism. Additionally, the effect appears to be temperature sensitive, where warm weather increases the chances of failure of the power locking mechanism. This happens when the vehicle is parked.
ON THE GAUGE CLUSTER THE VEHICLE NORMALLY TELLS ME WHAT GEAR I AM IN SUCH AS D FOR DRIVE. SOMETIMES IT DOES NOT SHOW IT AND OTHER TIMES IT WORKS FINE. THE Odyssey HAS A PUSH BUTTON TRANSMISSION AND IT IS EASY TO GET CONFUSED SOMETIMES WHEN IT IS NOT WORKING. I HAVE GOTTEN OUT OF THE VAN AND FORGOT IT WAS STILL IN DRIVE ONCE.
The central display goes blank, sometimes i get a message network communications lost, when its blank there is no backup camera, radio, entertainment system phone bluetooth... And even when the display work the backup camera will not always display and the entertainment system will not always work. , i also hear a popping sound from the speaker system like some wires are loose... I also had a few times that the dashboard behind the steering wheel where the speed and other important info are displayed went blank. This happened when the car was brand new with less than 500 miles, i went to service but it didnt help.
While vehicle is stationary, after closing the rear door. The door latch will not always hold the rear door in a fully closed condition, causing a door open warning condition. It may take several attempts to forcefully slam the rear door closed before it locks correctly. This happens multiple times each month. On vehicle without auto closing rear door option.
On both of the sliding rear doors, rust has formed on the locking mechanism and bolt that is affixed to the door. I am very concerned that the rust will make the door not lock properly or come loose during operation.
