2022 Jaguar E-PACE
  • Date of Incident: Mar-19, 2024
  • Date complaint filed: Mar-20, 2024
  • Failed components: TIRES:SIDEWALL

L-front tire showed a sidewall bubble. The tire could have blown out while running at a hish rate of speed, and caused loss of control the dealer (checkered flag, virginia beach, va). , has the tire. They think it was a curb hit. I have a photo of the tire issue. I was told, by the dealer service writer, this was not the first tire seen at this selling dealership with this issue. I inspected the tire and there is no way this could have happened by hitting a pothole or curb and not have any scratch or dent in the rim had i hit hard enough to cause this issue. Repair was to purchase a new tire at a cost of $346. 42

The center console gear shift has a lever to disengage the current gear to shift into another gear. However, if the lever isn’t fully pressed, the gear shift will still move, but the car remains in the original gear. So a driver may believe the shifted from reverse to drive (or vice versa) when it hasn’t. In theory, this lever should work like a manual transmission. One cannot shift gears in a manual without engaging the clutch fully. The automatic transmission/gear shift lever should work the same. In other words, the gear shift should not move/disengage unless the lever is fully pressed. Note: the vehicle (a former loaner vehicle) was recently purchased.

This car had about 27, 950 miles on it! While driving the low coolant light came on. Stopped at once and checked the coolant level. I was only slightly low. Added more coolant and light went out, this was about one week ago, 3/3/2024. The next day after two miles, low coolant light. Again added more coolant. The next day after a few miles, the car smelled of oil or something unusual, a burning smell, as my wife was driving it, no warning lights this time, this happened while stopped at a stop light. Suddenly the entire front of the car was covered with smoke! My wife said she thought the car was on fire. She pulled into a parking lot and stopped the car. The smoke subsided and she called me. The car did not appear to be overheated and the temperature gauge was normal. Adding more coolant temporally solved the issue. I have taken the car into the jaguar dealer and they immediately knew what the problem was, seems that all 2017 jaguars have this problem. An internet search verified the problem is so well know that jaguar changed the defective parts and issued a service bulletin addressing this problem, but even though our car is well within the warranty mileage, the jaguar dealers said that i would have to pay in excess of $3600 to get our car repaired! This is outrages! The car is not safe to drive and jaguar is well aware of the problem, yet they refuse to correct it unless the customer pays for jaguar's faulty design!!

On [xxx] i stopped at a local gas station to refuel. Immediately after leaving the gas station i heard a loud noise and the car went into limp mode. All the warning light were illuminated and lots of white smoke poured out of tailpipes. The diagnosis was that the turbo had filled with oil destroying both the turbo and motor. Total repair costs were close to $17,000 for remanufactured turbo and motor. This seems to be the exact same issue others have noted. There are class action law suits in the uk, australia and the us for dpf failure leading to engine and turbo failure. Car has 95,000 miles on it. 2020 Jaguar I-PACE
  • Date of Incident: Jan-12, 2024
  • Date complaint filed: Feb-20, 2024
  • Failed components: STEERING and ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

24-volt battery failed, causing the steering column to lock up and all components to malfunction. All doors were locked, and i could not get out of the vehicle. I had to call my husband to let me out through the vehicle's truck manually. This has caused me a great deal of anxiety. There was no indication prior to this situation, and i have reported this issue to the dealer service department. This issue has not been inspected yet.

  • Failed components: SERVICE BRAKES

I was exiting a parking spot and i had my foot on the brake to start the vehicle and again to put the car in reverse. I backed out of my parking spot and turned 90 degrees to exit the parking lot. As i pushed down on the brake to stop and shift to drive, the pad that covers the brake pedal fell off, causing my foot to slip and hit the accelerator. I then struck another vehicle with the back of my car. In looking at the car after the accident, the pad that normally covers the brake pedal was on the floor of the car, between the brake and accelerator. At the body shop, one of the people said there is supposed to be a clip that holds the pad, but it was either broken or missing on my car.

2011 Jaguar XF
  • Date of Incident: Feb-02, 2024
  • Date complaint filed: Feb-04, 2024
  • Failed components: FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

I just recently purchased the car from a dealer here in salt lake city. But suddenly began to smell fuel mostly in the backseat area inside the car. I decided to investigate and found there is a leak underneath the rear passenger side of the car which appears to be fuel looks like it may be mixed with the little oil hard to say it's a pretty steady drip especially if i'm parked uphill. This is definitely a safety hazard being that it is fuel and could easily cause a fire putting me my family and others at risk. I noticed there was a recall on these vehicles it is a jaguar xf 2011 but it looks like it has been closed from what i can tell. I'm hoping that that's not the case and we can get this fixed with minimum or no charge thing it was a recall
