2016 jeep cherokee 93k miles ptu fault and dealer wont fix under recall. 3k to fixed same issue as all other 16 cherokees. Unsafe to drive does not shift correctly intermittently. Suppose to be software fix but dealer wont fix. Ptu should go out 93k miles. If this stops all power to the wheel we will be in an accident!

2019 Jeep CHEROKEE
  • Date of Incident: Jun-02, 2023
  • Date complaint filed: Mar-27, 2024
  • Failed components: POWER TRAIN, ENGINE, and ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

I took my vehicle to a local dealership to have the "auto stop start" system checked. I had a dashboard warning light indicating the system was not working correctly. No other warnings signals were displayed. The dealership performed a diagnostic check but found no problems with the "auto start stop system". The day after i picked up my car, i drove for ten miles and the car overheated. I contacted the dealership and was told to check radiator fluid and drive the car back if possible. I found no radiator fluid in the car. My car required a full engine replacement and several subsequent repairs to exhaust system and driveshaft. An engine can overheat and seize which can cause drivers to lose control and crash. Please note: the original engine was part of recall for oil consumption. Prior to the recall update, i experienced stalling in traffic without warning due to the engine recall.

2022 Jeep GRAND CHEROKEE
  • Date of Incident: Mar-27, 2024
  • Date complaint filed: Mar-27, 2024
  • Failed components: SUSPENSION

I am writing to provide feedback and express my concerns about the safety and reliability of my 2022 jeep grand cherokee l. Over the last 12 months, my vehicle has been subject to three recalls, including a severe safety recall involving the potential for the upper control arm (uca) to separate from the knuckle, and a failed rear differential. The most recent recall, announced on february 28, has been particularly troubling, as it has rendered my vehicle unsafe to drive or rent out, directly impacting my livelihood as i use this vehicle exclusively for turo rentals. It has been over 30 days since the announcement of the recall, and i have received no indication of when the necessary repairs will be made available. A timeline for resolution exceeding 30 days for such a significant safety recall and the absence of interim support measures from the manufacturer has left me in a precarious position, both financially and in terms of vehicle safety. I am concerned about the frequency of recalls and the severity of the issues identified in such a new vehicle. Additionally, the extended period without a resolution or clear communication from the manufacturer exacerbates these concerns. I kindly request that nhtsa investigate the handling of this and previous recalls for the 2022 jeep grand cherokee l to ensure that consumer safety and communication are adequately prioritized. Thank you for your attention to these matters. I trust that the nhtsa will take the necessary steps to address these concerns and improve the recall process for the safety and benefit of all consumers. Sincerely,

2023 Jeep Wrangler
  • Date of Incident: Nov-25, 2023
  • Date complaint filed: Mar-27, 2024
  • Failed components: SUSPENSION and STEERING

Driving on interstate @ 65 mph, in very heavy traffic, experienced death wobble after going over a road seam bump, making it hard to control the vehicle. Slowed down to 50 and it stopped. I was terrified i was going to crash. It happened several more times during the same trip, whenever over 55 mph. Brought to dealer on 11/27/2023. Dealer says stellantis is aware of the issue -- and has been sued for it in the past -- but it's been 4 months and stellantis has not yet provided the replacement part. This is a brand new vehicle with about 4,000 miles on it, and the death wobble continues to occur whenever over 55 mph. Infuriating that stellantis is aware of this issue yet is still installing malfunctioning parts.

This car has been worked on twice with negative results, now the dealer has told me jeep does not want to try to repair it until further investigation. It does not comeply with fmvss no. 108 recall repair 12b wich was performed twice with negative results. I think they are avoiding the lemon law by not trying to repair it a third time. No loaner or compensation offered.
