I was driving my 2017 jeep cherokee latitude 2. 4l, car won't start, i have oil pressure sensor to warn me when low doesn't alert me at all, only time is when i realized a beep when i made turns and would indicate oil pressure low! I can't get my car to stop and it stalled on me while driving with no indication of low oil, and i have two kids and could have been very bad, since no power no breaks no steering!

The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH over a bumpy road surface, the vehicle experienced the Death Wobble. The contact stated that the front end of the vehicle was wobbling violently from side to side, and pulling towards the opposite lane. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring while driving and exceeding 40 MPH on a bumpy road surface. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was determined that the steering shock absorber system needed to be upgraded to a double steering shock absorber system. The dealer informed the contact that the repair could not be covered under the vehicle's warranty. The contact declined to pay for the repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they were awaiting for the dealer to submit a claim with the diagnostic report. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.

The traction control light and abs dash lights will come on and the vehicle will jerk and bog down while driving. It is very dangerous and needs to be fixed. I looked on jeep forum to see if i could see what's going on with it and there were a bunch of jeeps that have the same problem.

People involved: car purchased from carmax- michael sanders is my current contact cna- warranty company auto clinic- first auto repair shop brought to. Previous owner issues- 4/8/2022 auxillary battery replaced-22,821 5/16/2022 towed in to dealership- 2/3 qts low on oil 23, 230 10/14 oil consumption test- 26,797 3/10/2023- restart oil test- 29,546 3/13/2023- passed oil test- not sure how because was driven less than 40 miles- 29,583 carmax oil change prior to purchase- august 16th at 35,920 miles. Purchased car with 35,927 miles drove 3,455 miles before first engine light. Current odometer reading is approximately 40,000 9/5/2024 car purchased 3/6/2024- called into work. Car would not go over 40 miles per hour. Service engine light and oil light on. 3/6/2024- towed to auto clinic 3/11 rental car from enterprise 3/13 rental returned and loaner issued 3/13/2024 -auto clinic- 3/19/2024 aclinic calls and says possible ring failure. Cna needs oil consumption test to determine how much oil is being burnt. Aclinic recommends a tear down to determine the extent of the damage. 3/18/2024- engine died on the way to work. Took day off and towed to carmax. 3/21/2024 notified car is ready. Low on oil. Oil change and oil consumption test 3/28/2024- picked up car after returning from out of town. Did not feel confident driving. 4/4/2024 service engine light is on again. Drove to carmax/ recommendation by chris prayer. U110a was the diagnostic reading. Was given a loaner from carmax. Main battery was low, draining from auxiliary battery. 4/10/2024 car is ready to be picked up. 4/16 reporting of door panel issue.

The vehicle was not able to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 115,000.

The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed that the hybrid and standard batteries were drained and needed to be placed. Nhtsa recall # 23v-116 has been active since february 23, 2023 but the status is "recall incomplete, remedy not yet available". The recall has been active for almost 14 months with no solution. I do not consider this to be reasonable amount of time for a safety recall to be incomplete with no remedy.
