Engine failure problem. Also, windshield just cracked for no reason and continously spreading
Good morning...... I'm the owner of a 2013 kia sorrento that is subject to the above safety recall. This has become known as the 'park outside recall' because of the supposed fire danger. I was first notified about this issue my mail on 14 november 2023. To date, no remedy has been provided. My local kia dealer here in syracuse says they have no information, while kia usa in california says "we're working on it. " if we can collect rocks from an asteroid and return them to earth, it seems like the development of a corrective part could be accomplished in something less than 7 or 8 months (or longer if youuse the sept 25 date in the original recall). The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that the remedy parts were not available. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and informed the contact that a second notice will be mailed when the remedy is available. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available.
I got a recall on my kia in november about it potentially catching fire. My engine light came on and there is no remedy for the recall and it’s been 5 months. This is unacceptable because i don’t want to drive my car around while it could potentially catch fire. I need this to be remedied asap.
Engine failure. The vehicle is available for inspection. Engine failure while driving put my own and children's lives at risk. The problem has been confirmed by both the dealer and independent service center. No warning lights prior to the problem appearing. Symptoms included rattling sound from engine on start up and acceleration as well as coolant leak from engine. Dealership told us the engine seized due to no lubrication despite vehicle receiving timely service for oil change. Kia is denying all responsibility for a fix.

On thursday november 9, 2023 i purchased a 2021 kia sportage lx from liberty auto plaza dealership located in libertyville, il. During this purchase, the salesman isaac told me the car was updated with anti-theft protection. Between friday november 10, 2023 evening and saturday november 11, 2023 my kia sportage that i just purchased was stolen. I called the police department and made a police report and i filed a claim with my insurance company, american alliance casualties. My vehicle was recovered on wednesday november 15, 2023 and the insurance company picked the vehicle up on friday november 17, 2023. My insurance company, american alliance casualties has had my vehicle since. April 17, 2024 will be five months this company has had my vehicle. On january 24, 2024 american alliance sent me an offer letter to, either have the vehicle to be repaired or, have a direct check sent to me. I choose to have the vehicle repaired because i wasn't looking for money i wanted my car repaired. The company i chose was fender mender auto collision center. I spoke with their receptionist, heather on, thursday february 15, 2024 and she said my insurance company, american alliance casualties delivered my vehicle to their facility and they were going to start working on it right away. I called monday february 19, 2024 to follow up and see how is the progress going to repair my vehicle and she told me that there was something going on with the engine. On monday april 8, 2024 heather from fender mender auto collision called and said my claim was denied because there is wear and tear on the engine. The engine has 27,000 miles from the time it was stolen so that's impossible. However, i spoke with the insurance adjuster annette khatib and she said the inspector stated there was a blockage in the engine possibly due to a manufacturer defect.

The contact pulled over, placed the vehicle in park, and turned the vehicle off. After restarting the vehicle, an abnormal ticking sound was coming from the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the radiator needed to be replaced and the tie rod had excessive play. The dealer denied repairing the vehicle due to sludge in the engine. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 75,490.
While idling there is no heat. This is very dangerous in states where it drops below freezing. If i should be able to rely on getting heat but i can not. They called it a “design flaw”
