THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. AIRPORT KIA NAPLES (3325 WESTVIEW DR, NAPLES, FL 34104) WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE, AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE UNTIL AUGUST 8, 2021. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE, AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO GET A RENTAL VEHICLE SINCE THE PARTS WERE ON BACKORDER. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. My kia k900 would not start with less than 2 years on the battery, i was told it's normal wear and tear so i paid nearly $700 to replace it. I have a had a host of electrical issues over the years and most recently, my card would not turn off. I was told by the dealer ha i also needed a new battery with it being less than 2 years replaced. They have had my car for over 2 weeks, they refuse to return my call.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 39,000.
2015 Kia Cadenza PANORAMIC SUNROOF SPONTANEOUSLY EXPLODED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. SOUNDED LIKE A BOMB EXPLODED IN THE CAR AND THERE WAS NO EXTERNAL OBJECT INVOLVED.
Pulling into a parking space in a parking lot had my foot on the brake to stop when the car suddenly surged forward rapidly. Foot was not on the accelerator when this occurred.
I HAVE 4 HANCOOK VENTIS S1 NOBLE 2+ TIRES ON MY 2017 Kia Cadenza. THE SIZE AND DOT NUMBERS ARE 245/45R18 96V DOT 5MEF 1A H 0217 I HAVE A BUBBLE, IN THE SIDEWALL, IN ONE TIRE THAT MAY BE THE RESULT OF A CRACK IN THE SIDEWALL. I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK TUESDAY EVENING, THEN I NOTICED MY HEAD LIGHTS FLICKER TWICE. I THOUGHT NOTHING OF IT THEN THEY SUDDENLY SHUT OFF. I FLIPPED THE SWITCH BACK AND FORTH UNTIL IT TURNED ON. THEN 5 MINUTES INTO THE DRIVE THEY COMPLETELY SHUT OFF AGAIN BUT THIS TIME THEY NEVER CAME BACK ON. I HAD TO DRIVE 10 MINUTES TO MY HOUSE WITH MY HAZARDS. I GOT PULLED OVER BUT LUCKILY MY BROTHER IS A COP AND I WAS ABLE TO PROVIDE HIS GOLD CARD AND GOT A PASS FROM A TICKET. THE NEXT DAY I CHECKED ALL THE RELAYS AND FUSES IN THE CAR HOPING ONE HAD BURNT OUT, BUT THAT WAS A NEGATIVE. I SCHEDULED MY APPOINTMENT WITH KIA AND IT TURNED OUT THE MULTI FUNCTION SWITCH ASSEMBLY WAS FAULTY. IT STOPPED SENDING THE SIGNAL OUT TO TURN THE HEADLIGHTS ON. I ASKED WHAT COULDVE CAUSED IT AND THEY DIDNT KNOW, POSSIBLY A MANUFACTURE DEFECT LIKE THE K900 RECALLS. I ASKED IF THE Cadenza HAD THE RECALL THEY SAID NO, THEY CAN SWITCH OUT THE ASSEMBLY WHICH COST ME $500+ BECAUSE I WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. MY LUCK!!! WHICH I STILL THINK THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE RESOLVED BY THE MANUFACTURES/ DEALERS NOT OUT OF THE CUSTOMERS EXPENSE.
Car cupped tires around 17000 miles. Dealer blamed me for car not being aligned and not rotated frequently enough i. E. 7500 miles. I disagreed with dealer filed complaint with kia and they made a compromise and i paid for 2 tires and kia paid for 2 tires, different tire brand than previous tires. Car again cupped tires around 44000 miles. I heard sound immediately after tire rotation back to front. Took car to kia sean the service manager confirmed front tires were cupped. Took car to kia dealer a week or so later to diagnose problem. They looked at car it was within alignment specs and tire rotations done approx. Every 7500 miles. Kia dealer then told me that they believed that the tires were at fault and were going to contact tire manufacturer to replace tires. I strongly disagreed with this position and said that according to everything i have read and been told the most likely cause is a suspension problem i. E. Shocks or struts. It is also not good for the car to be driven with a suspension problem and or cupped tires. Cupped tires are caused by poor contact with the road which may also be dangerous. I don't believe the problem is caused by the tires (2 sets tires different brands) so can not with a good conscious support a tire warranty claim. I believe and there is a problem with the suspension of this car not sure if it is a design problem or a problem with a certain suspension part shocks, struts or both? On 5/17/19 i filled another complaint with kia and am currently waiting on a response. I am filling this complaint in case others are having the same problem.
I PURCHASED A NEW 2018 Kia Cadenza WITH 11 MILES ON IT. I HAVE HAD THE CAR LESS THAN A YEAR AND IT RANDOMLY STALLS WHILE IN DRIVE MODE IN MOTION AND SOMETIMES WHILE SITTING IDLE. IT HAS STALLED ON THE FREEWAY, NEIGHBORHOOD STREETS, DRIVE-WAY AND ON FEEDER ROADS. THE CAR HAS BEEN IN AND OUT OF THE DEALERSHIP AT LEAST 5 TIMES. KIA MOTORS CANNOT FIGURE OUT WHAT?S WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THEY PLACED A TRACKER IN THE VEHICLE AND DETERMINED THE CRANK SENSOR WAS MALFUNCTIONING. THEY REPLACED THE CRANK SENSOR, I PICKED THE VEHICLE UP AND LESS THAN 24 HOURS LATER THE CAR STALLED AGAIN. IT STALLED 2 ADDITIONAL TIMES BEFORE RETURNING IT TO THE SHOP AGAIN THIS PAST WEEK.
While driving home my vehicle began to smoke and leave fumes within the car. I pulled the vehicle immediately to inspect to find that my kickplate was on fire from below the kickplate. I pulled the panel off and doused out the flame. Now with the vehicle home i do not feel safe driving this vehicle knowing something like this is even remotely possible.
I was braking approaching a light on a state road, when the brake went all the way to the floor suddenly and it felt as though the wheels locked up. The vehicle slowed but did not stop, i rear ended a vehicle in front of me.
We noticed that when we would close our car doors it would make a large popping sound and we realized that it was the windshield. I touched it and when i did it lifted from the car. The windshield is not secured to the car! I haven? T had the car a year yet and it is still under warranty. I have scheduled an appointment with kia to have this repaired.
THIS IS A CONTINUATION OF PREVIOUS NHTSA COMPLAINT ID 11047835. THE STRONG RAW FUEL ODOR AFTER FILLUP RECURRED ON MY VEHICLE AT 9550 MILES, 3600 MILES AFTER THIS PROBLEM WAS SUPPOSED TO BE FIXED. DEALER CLAIMS TO HAVE REPAIRED GAP IN THE PREVIOUSLY-REPLACED HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP SEAL; HOWEVER, FUEL SMELL REMAINS WHEN TANK IS FULL UNTIL DEPLETED TO ABOUT HALF. I ASK NHTSA TO INVESTIGATE THIS RECURRING PROBLEM WITH THE Kia Cadenza.
WE BECAME MORE CONCERNED AFTER SEEING A REPORT ABOUT FIRES INVOLVING KIAS THIS MORNING. OUR NEW 2018 Kia Cadenza HAD ABOUT 1,750 MILES ON THE ODOMETER ON OCTOBER 11, 2018, WHEN THE FOLLOWING OCCURRED: WE WERE ON A CITY STREET, STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT, WHEN WE SAW SOME SMALL, LIGHT STRANDS OF SMOKE THAT SEEMED TO BE RISING JUST OUTSIDE THE RIGHT, FRONT FENDER. WE PULLED INTO A NEARBY PARKING LOT & CHECKED UNDER THE HOOD. THERE WAS A SMELL. IT SEEMED LIKE SOMETHING HOT OR SCORCHED (RUBBER OR OIL RELATED??), BUT NO SMOKE OR LEAKS WERE NOTICEABLE. IT DID SEEM LIKE THERE WERE SMALL SPOTS, SCATTERED ON THE UPPER SURFACES TO THE RIGHT OF THE ENGINE. AFTER PARKING IN OUR GARAGE AT HOME, THE SMELL BECAME VERY STRONG & REMAINED THAT WAY IN THE CLOSED GARAGE. WE DID NOT CHECK TO SEE HOW LONG THE SMELL REMAINED STRONG, BUT IT WAS STILL VERY NOTICEABLE WHEN I RETURNED 10 OR 15 MINUTES LATER. YESTERDAY, ON 10/12/18, WE BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO THE KIA GARAGE & REPORTED THIS. THE SERVICE ADVISER LOOKED UNDERNEATH, SAID THAT SOMETHING WAS GOING ON AND SENT IT TO THE SHOP TO CHECK. AROUND 90 MINUTES LATER, HE SAID THEY FOUND WIDESPREAD SPLASHES OF OIL, BUT HAD CLEANED THE ENGINE. HE ASKED IF WE HAD DRIVEN OVER ANYTHING LIKE THAT, BUT WE HAD NOT. THEY HAD RUN THE ENGINE & TEST DRIVEN FOR AT LEAST 40 MINUTES - BUT HAD NOT BEEN ABLE TO DETECT LEAKS OR OTHER SOURCES OF THE PROBLEM. THEY ALSO NOTED THAT THE OIL LEVEL WAS STILL FULL. HE SAID TO TAKE THE CAR, DRIVE IT FOR 100 MILES, THEN BRING IT BACK FOR FURTHER TESTING. THE SMELL IN THE GARAGE WAS STILL NOTICEABLE AFTER RETURNING HOME, BUT NOT NEARLY AS STRONG AS THE PREVIOUS DAY. WE ASSUME THIS IS BECAUSE THE GARAGE HAD CLEANED THE ENGINE. WE DO PLAN TO TAKE THE CAR BACK AFTER 100 MILES, BUT WE ARE QUITE NERVOUS DRIVING IT ANYWHERE NOW.
Was driving down a busy local road when out of no where, i heard a lound explosion. I looked at the rear view mirror thinking something had crashed into the back windshield, but there was nothing. I got out to check the car and noticed a huge hole in my sunroof. The glass had shattered and pieces were everywhere. I called kia to see if it would be covered under warranty, but they told me that they've never come across something like this. I even showed them many sources online of people complaining about the same exact issue and they still failed to acknowledge the defect. It was clearly due to too much pressure from how the car was designed and built as the sunroof was concaving upwards. Clearly a safety hazard while driving due to the loud, unexpected exploding sound and worst case, could've caused injury with glass falling everywhere had my sunroof been actually open.
TL* THE CONTACT LEASED A 2017 Kia Cadenza. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH WITH THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL ACTIVATED, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONT END COLLISION. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE CERVICAL STENOSIS AND A HERNIATED DISK IN THE LOWER BACK THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTO BODY SHOP WHERE IT WAS DEEMED OPERABLE. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 10,000.
Outside air temp sensor has defect. It reads 32 degrees f. When temps are over 80 f outside. Won't allow auto air conditioning to work. The engine emission control warning light comes on and stays on. Have had in the dealership 3 times and they keep telling me my gas cap is not sealing. It's reset and it comes back on again.
Brake issue: i had an accident due to a brake failure on this car. I was driving very slowly going downhill (speeds 0 to 10 mph) in a line of cars stopping and going, stopping and going many times. At first the brake pedal felt normal as pressure was applied the car slowed then petal resistance would drop and the car would speed up due to the downhill grade. I applied foot pressure to petal again and the same thing happened over and over again. I slowly ran into the back of the car in front of me. I hit the car in front of me many times as it moved forward. This car has an autonomous emergency braking (aeb) equipped on it. The aeb is supposed to apply brakes when you? Re about to hit something. It? S supposed to turn off at about 6 mph, in this traffic my speed vary through this point many times. I feel the constant on and off of aeb confused the control system on the car and cause the brakes to malfunction. The road condition was wet but no standing water. The accident was not a skid. The tires are in great shape the car only has 14000 miles on it.
