TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 Kia Optima Hybrid. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN OPERATION, THE VOLTAGE INDICATOR SWITCHED FROM NORMAL VOLTAGE TO HIGH VOLTAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER ELK GROVE KIA LOCATED AT (8480 LAGUNA GROVE DR, ELK GROVE CA) WHO WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 18V161000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

Brake line has air in it for the second time in a matter of a few months, first time it took kia dealership 4 days to repair. This current time it should take 2 days. When braking hard at a slow or high speed, there is a loud noise coming from brake area. S

My car will not turn completely off! I was driving if the freeway and hit an object, not sure what. When i got home i couldn? T turn my car off completely. The car think that it? S off but the engine still revs.

The right passenger headlight won? T work i changed the light bulb and it? S completely off. At first when i attempted to change the bulb the light flickered and i thought that it might? Ve not been put on all the way or it might? Ve became loose. But then it went completely out causing a road hazard and unsafe to drive as lights are very important. It also has caused me to be pulled over by many police when i shouldn? T be going through this or anyone? S one else that is going through the same problem with kia. This first occurred when i was driving on the highway could? Ve been a bad situation. It could be a bad wiring as i read from other reports but kia has not done a recall. This situation should be covered by kia and no one should pay as it is a safety issue and accidents could occur

When driving through a neighborhood between 20 - 25mph the hybrid warning light illuminated with overhead voice stating to pull over and not drive the vehicle any further. In the process of pulling over the car proceeded to lose all power. Electrical within car (lights, radio, etc. ) remained on but car was unable to accelerate and engine was completely off. The cause of the power loss is still unknown, however, we were running on hybrid power at the time. This, with the hybrid malfunction indicator light lead me to believe this is a problem with the hybrid system.

* october 2017 while driving in the freeway car slowed down. Got off freeway and turned off car. Car would not start anymore. Kia replaced high voltage fuse, hybrid battery, power relay. * march 2018 car was taken in due to hev and engine light on while driving. Car did not accelerate. Kia replaced the transmission. * march 2018 car was returned after transmission change and 2 days later while driving car gave hev and engine light on. Kia said it was a "loose wire" from transmission. * march 2018 car gave hev and check engine light on while driving and kia replaced the transmission again (2nd time in 1 month). * april 2018 check engine and hev code came out while driving and kia replaced the computer from engine. *march 2019 hev and check engine light while driving on kia replaced the main harness.

For the 2nd year, my kia would not start in 32 degree weather in big bear, ca. This is an annual trip & took my kia. The lights, radio all turn on but the engine will not start. I have to wait until noon for the sun to warm up the car & then it? S back to normal. I have taken the car back to the dealership & have been told they cannot find any malfunction & never heard of anyone experience what i have. There are many forums with kia owners complaining of the same, but cannot get a fix or acknowledgement that the problem exists. It? S beyond frustrating when the car has less than 40k miles.

On december 5, 2018 my car suddenly stalled while driving in an intersection. I immediately tried to restart it but was unsuccessful i had battery power, all of the ga restart it but was unsuccessful i had battery power, all of the gauges would a cycle back-and-forth whenever pushing the start button,however it was just like the gas motor would not fire. It is still under warranty, so i had it towed to a dealership. The next morning i was called and told that it showed a lot of codes, and they would need some time to decipher them and would notify me with results later. After about five hours i was called back and told her that the battery on the car was dead and it would not take a charge. Play then informed me that the battery on the car was the only thing not under warranty and the new replacement was $400. Unable to pay that much for a 12 v battery i tried unsuccessfully for a week to argue the fact that the battery was not dead when it went out and getting nowhere i finally bought a $200 battery, and installed it myself. I am mediately tried to start the car.... It did the same thing it did after it died a week prior. I am form them after giving them the key to the car back and i need new battery and it still would not start. A nother week went by and finally i was told that they was taking the battery i purchased out to put a kia battery in the car to see if it will start (which they said that allowed the car to start). Then stated to me that after it started they were able to pull codes on it and it had a bed safety fuse. I was five minutes from the dealership whenever i was notified of this so i? Ll stop by nearly as i hung up the phone. When i walked in i walked straight to the car which was in the garage and look at my battery that i purchased was still in the car, had not been removed and i started the car. Successfully. I was still told couldn? T take car.

Driving and the dashboard said turn car off. Had towed to the dealer and they said $8500 for a new engine... Said the oil drain bolt was laying of top of the splash shield and no oil left in the engine, they wanted to know if someone was after us... What the heck. Fought with them for 2 months.

The car was park in the house and when i get back i saw a long crack on the windshield so i check the surrounding if there is something fell on it but there's no even an impact on it it's just crack from the top of the windshield up to the middle center. It's a brand new car so how will the windshield get crack like that. I ask around to replace my windshield and most of them told me that is a common problem with the new vehicle like mine and they even ask the dealer if it's available and they said it will take about a month to have it.

Happened numerous times while driving in traffic or speeds over 60 mph, engine warning light comes on stating hybrid engine malfunction turn off immediately. If i don't get to pull over immediately, i lose power until i do. When i have my phone attached to the carport program, it registers that there is someone in the passenger seat and will beep until i put the seat belt in the receptacle as if someone was there. This has happened since i first bought it and i have about 5,000. I have brought this to the dealer twice and they claim that they can't replicate either issue. This is obviously a trend. They are now sending out an "expert" to fix the problem. Otherwise i'm lemon lawing it. I have photos and video of the defect so they can't even try and say i'm making it up.

Takata recall- when braking pr pumping the brakes there is a knocking noise, this also happens when releasing the brake pedal on flat roads or hills. There is a creaking noise when releasing the brake after putting car from park to drive or reverse.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 kia optima. While driving 65 mph, the vehicle stalled and the message "hybrid battery issue, please shut car off immediately" displayed. The vehicle was taken to dch kia of temecula (26799 ynez rd, temecula, ca 92591, (951) 268-9198) where it was diagnosed that the pra replay battery and the safety plug needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 87,000.
