TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 Kia Rio, THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HIS DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING AT 42 MPH, WHILE IN THE LEFT LANE TO GO STRAIGHT. ANOTHER VEHICLE WAS IN THE TURNING LANE TO MAKE A LEFT TURN, THE VEHICLE MADE A RIGHT TURN INSTEAD AND CRASHED INTO THE VEHICLE LEFT FRONT TIRE CAUSING THE TIRE TO EXPLODE WITH IMPACT. THE DRIVER LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, THE OTHER VEHICLE PUSHED THE VEHICLE AT HIGH SPEED, THE VEHICLE LANDED INTO A DITCH AND CAME TO A STOP. AS A RESULT, THE DRIVER HIT HER HEAD AGAINST THE STEERING WHEEL. THE AIR BAG FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED BACK, ARM HEAD, FOOT AND RIGHT WRIST INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE OTHER DRIVER DID NOT SUSTAINED INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 36,000.
OUR 2018 Kia Rio WAS BOUGHT NEW. I WAS TRAINING MY WIFE TO PARALLEL PARK WHEN IT HAD ONLY 100 MILES ON IT. AS SHE KEPT REPEATING THE PROCEDURE OF PARALLEL PARKING, THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP AND WOULD NOT ALLOW MOVEMENT UNTIL THE ELECTRICAL CONTROL COOLED DOWN. WE THEN TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER, BOB UTTER IN SHERMAN, TEXAS WHERE WE HAD PURCHASED THE CAR TO HAVE THEM DETERMINE THE PROBLEM AND FIX IT. THEY DID NOTHING TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM AND TOLD US THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR! TERRIBLE DEALERSHIP! SO NOW, AFTER THE CAR IS NEARLY THREE YEARS OLD AND WITH LESS THAN 300 MILES OF USE, WE ARE HALF-WAY AFRAID TO USE THE CAR AND KEEP IT IN OUR GARAGE ONLY TO USE IT TO GO CHECK ON OUR MAIL. IT STILL HAS ITS ORIGINAL HALF-TANK OF GAS IN IT AND HAS NOT YET HAD AN OLD CHANGE. PLEASE ADVISE.
I called the dealership about my brake problem five days ago about the brakes going down to the floor almost i was told by the service manager that was a safety issue so he gave me their roadside assistance number yobe picked up they did on friday morning 9/25/20 the car was delivered and the service manager said he would call me that day about the problem but i have not heard from him i could only get recording about making an appointment i talked to the finance manager about the brakes causing a fire on other same brand vehicles he told me to wait for the service report the car was moving afriend also commented on the brakes also after the car went to dealership sha checked on it and came up with the news report in houston about the safety issue
I BOUGHT A NEW Kia Rio, AFTER JUST 300 KILOMETERS OF USE A TIRE EXPLOTED WHEN I WAS DRIVING, I WENT TO KIA DEALER TO REPORT THE INCIDENT, AFTER DAYS THE KIA ANSWER WAS THAT IT WAS MY FAULT MAYBE BEACUSE I DROVE WITH LOW PRESSURE IN THAT TIRE OR I HIT AN EDGE OR I HIT A HOLE BUT NONE OF THOSE THREE THINGS HAPPENED. IN THE PICTURES YOU CAN SEE HOW THE CUT OF THE EXPLOTION IS ALIGNED WITH A METALLIC PART INSTALLED IN THE WHEEL. WHEN EXPLOTION OF TIRE OCCURRED I WAS DRIVING IN A HIGHWAY, THIS WAS A DANGEROUS SITUATION AND MY SAFETY WAS IN RISK. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 Kia Rio. THE CONTACT STATED THE TRUNK OF THE VEHICLE FAILED TO LOCK SECURELY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRUNK LOCK WAS DEFECTIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. NEITHER A DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 28,000.
At 148,000 miles on the freeway the gas pedal would not give any power, still running but would not go, stalled a few times. Had to pull over and wait, restart and go a few miles, pull over and wait, then go, etc. Come to find out there was not a drop of oil left. After replenishing, still had issues, then noticed the anti-freeze was low. Replenished is now drivable but continues to burn oil. No leaking & i changed the pcv valve with no results. I'm still adding close to a quart of oil everyday. Have reason to believe the piston rings and valves are shot and oil is circulating throughout/into cylinders. Now it's on its last leg, 152,000 miles. It's been a good ride but time to go. Note* a/c stopped working at 66,000 miles *tr

I was driving on a city street when i approached a green light it turned yellow i mash down on my brake it engaged for a couple of seconds and it gave on me and i could not get the brake to engage again i could not stop for the light and was involved in an accident.

SUDDENLY, THERE WAS A LOUD EXPLOSION UNDER THE HOOD AND THE CONTACT'S HEAD IMPACTED THE STEERING WHEEL. THE VEHICLE BECAME ENGULFED WITH BLACK SMOKE. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A BUSTED LIP, BRUISED EYE, A WHIPLASH, AND A CONCUSSION. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS NOT RECEIVE AS OF YET. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO A LOT. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 93,000. I WAS DRIVING TO WORK, HAND HEARD A POP UNDER MY HOOD. MY ENGINE AND BATTERY INDICATOR LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING AND I LOST ALL POWER. AFTER POLLING OVER AND TURNING MY CAR OFF, I NOTICED A TONE OF SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. I POPPED THE HOOD LATCH AND PEAKED UNDER WITH OUT OPENING THE HOOD AFTER SEEING LIGHT. I NOTICED THE FLAMES AND GRABBED MY PHONE TO CALL 911. SOON AFTER THE CAR WAS ENGULFED INFLAMES AND 3 BANGS WHERE HEARD. BOTH TIRES AND I'M GUESSING THE FUEL LINE ERUPTED. THE FRONT HALF OF MY CAR WAS NOW ABLAZE STARTING TO REACH THE INTERioR STARTED TO BURN BEFORE THE FIRE DEPARTMENT COULD PUT THE FIRE OUT.
The trunk is not able to be opened manually, except through the key fob. When trying to close the trunk, the latching mechanism will not engage and the trunk is unable to latch shut. Both incidents happened while the vehicle was stationary.
Steering has an intermittent pull to the left.

CUT CAR OFF AND STARTED CAR UP AGAIN . ALL WAS GOOD . 1ST TIME I DROVE TO GOT HOME DIDN ?T KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON .
On may 4, 2019, at around 2:15 pm i was drving around 15 miles/hr for 1 mile & i stopped around 230th avenue sw & highway 99 in seattle. I stopped because i heard some engine noises. I opened the hood and soon after saw flames under the engine. The flames grew bigger and the whole engine caught fire. I called 911 and the police and the fire department put out the fire. By 2:45, the fire was extinguised. The complete front of the car was burnt.
Problems: 1) ac stops working and only blows warm air, 2) windshield wipers does not work. Both front and back 3) front lights does not work
Takara recall i was hit on the driver's side of my car by a semi doing approximately 58 mph in doing so my car went into a spin and the back of my car hit a concrete bridge, on a 2 lane interstate. My air bags did not deploy!
