While the vehicle is in motion a red warning light appears in the shape of a steering wheel and the steering becomes very stiff. This happens intermittently after putting it to gear and driving forward or backing out and it has also happened while highway driving. Luckily these incidents have happened while driving straight and occurs for a short duration. It is concerning from a safety standpoint. I brought it in to a kia dealership and it has something to do with the electronics in the steering column. They have no recall listed and it is very expensive to replace outside the 50k basic mileage warranty which ours is since we tend to put a lot of highway miles on our vehicle. It isn't too much over though and we take very good care of it. I would find it very hard to believe it that is caused from wear and tear but more likely to be a manufacturer defect.

The right head light just stops working and i have to open the head light casing and play with the cables to get it to work again. Also the power seats don? T work.

I was returning home from a trip (traveling @~70 mph) when i suddenly lost all power and had to coast to the shoulder on the sb 5 fwy. I was fortunate as there were many large trucks and other vehicles which i was able to avoid. As i came to a stop the car shut off and i was unable to restart it. 12 hours later and hundreds of dollars in towing fees, i had my mechanic take a look and was told the engine had seized. What!!! I had recently had a scheduled oil change and was not due for a couple of thousand miles. This all occurred without warning: no check engine light, low pressure oil indicator, or even overheating temperature. Waiting to get it back from my mechanic where i will park it and continued to make payments on a vehicle that cosmetically looks great but is worthless. Quick quote for new engine and labor is about 6 to 7k. I have a feeling this is the beginning of a nightmare that starts with a k and end with an ia.

My engine died while passing a vehicle on my way to work. No warning light, no knocking sounds, nothing. It just died. Had to get in front of vehicle i was passing and coast to the side of the road. Would not restart. Sat in the cold for 3 hours without heat on a desolate road with no cell service. No town within walking distance. My mechanic said the motor is locked up and i'll need a replacement. 103,825 miles on it. Warranty ran out at 100,000 miles. Apparently this is common in these vehicles and kia is involved in a class action suit for this and other malfunctions. Called kia and they were not helpful at all. I'm a nurse carrying for covid patients and have no vehicle to get to work. I still owe $13,000+. I bought it in 2018.

Door handle fell off in my hand. I cannot open door from inside or outside due to child locks being engaged. Vehicle was stationary i was just opening the door like usual and it broke off.

Power steering went out. Radio turns on and off going down the road. Headlights turn off and on by themself. Battery is now dead. Car will not run. Transmission light came on all in one day.. I've had this vehicle for 4 to 5 months

I was driving on the highway and when the vehicle in front of me stopped short my kia would stop i had to swerve to the side of the road to stop. I noticed smoke from the hood so i waited until it stopped and slowly moved into the already slowed traffic and went home park the vehicle and reported to kia but they continue to give me the run around and not offer repairs unless i paid for it

If lights are in automatic they will shut off in the pitch black and you have to turn them on with the switch. This could cause a major accident

I have owned this car for one year. The lamination and paint are bubbling up for no reason. I take good care of this car and it is not old enough that the paint should be failing. I believe the kia paint is defective. The paint is bubbling up on the rear hatch and roof, as well as on the driver? S side passenger door. I found numerous accounts of this happening to other kia owners for no reason, and found out that there are class action lawsuits for kia paint defects.

Engine broke to pieces, original owner. Kia saying sludge. Sent vechicle records. Has car since 12/15/2020. Jack daniels dealership needs me to find out from kia corperation to see if its covered. Who is responsible for warranty. Vehicle was in driveway when tried to start, made bang and shut off.

While driving at night, and also when starting car at night. I leave my lights on auto. Lately my lights have been turning off, while driving on back roads and on interstate. I have to trn light switch to off then turn to on.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 Kia Sorento. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE SMOKE WAS PRESENT COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. UPON INSPECTION IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE BRAKE FLUID WAS LEAKING ONTO THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER CORAL SPRINGS KIA LOCATED AT 9330 W ATLANTIC BLVD, CORAL SPRINGS, FL 33071 AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS RECENTLY INSPECTED UNDER THE NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN NUMBER 20V519000(SERVICE BRAKES) BUT THE FAILURE HAD OCCURRED AFTER THE RECALL INSPECTION WAS PERFORMED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 224,000.

My 2015 kia sorrento has paint that is chipping off in large chunks around the winshield and the hood. This issue has been happening for a couple of years now. I spoke with kia consumer assurance and they informed me that the only models covered is 2011-2014. I purchased my kia sorrento in april 2014, although it is a 2015 model. I want to make a formal complaint regarding this model. I have seen others with the same issue in this area.

Engine light is on try to drive it? S stopping and it? S a knocking noise coming from engine

Vehicle was purchased aug 2020. As of jan 10, 2021 "check blind spot collision warning (bcw) system" light came on about 6 times. If the light comes on while driving, the vehicle feels like it downshifts. Light has also come on while waiting for a red light. The bcw system was turned off the last two times the warning light came on. The last time it came on was jan 10, 2021 at approximately 10:45pm. I was driving on a city street. The bcw system was turned off & there were no vehicles next to me. The transmission again felt like it downshifted. I have attached a picture of the warning light that came on on jan 4, 2021.

Drivers side rear running lights don't work. No power going to the bulbs (bulbs are good). Except brake lights and turn signals work. Fuses okay. And only one of the two light sockets over the rear license plate has power and works. Kia dealer claims it replaced the burned out bulb in rear license socket, but i checked within a week and no power to the socket. No fuses blown.

GOSSETT KIA ON MT. MORIAH IN MEMPHIS, TN REPACED MY ENGINE IN 2019 DUE TO A RECALL BUT AFTER MY ENGINE WAS REPLACE MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS CONSTANTLY BEEN COMING ON. I HAVE TAKEN MY Kia Sorento BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP NUMEROUS TIME ONLE TO BE TOLD THAT I AM NOT PUTTING MY GAS CAP ON RIGHT OR TAT MY GAS CAP NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I HAVE PURCHASED 3 GAS CAPS FROM THIS DEALER SHIP. I WILL BE DRIVING DOWN THE STREET AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL JUST COME ON. THIS ISSUE DID NOT START UNTIL THEY PUT IN THE NEW MOTOR. HOWEVER NO ONE AT THE DEALERSHIP CHECKED THE CENSOR. I HAVE REPLACE NUMEROUS PARTS ON MY CAR AND ALL THE REPLACEMENTS WERE DONE AT THE DEALERSHIP. I HAVE REQUESTED FROM THE DFEALERSHIP A PRINT OUT OF ALL THE REPAIRS TO MY KIA AND AS OF TODAYS DATE I HAVE NOT RECIEVED IT. I HAVE MAD THE REQUEST 3 TIMES. ONCE OVER THE TELEPHONE AND 2 TIMES IN PERSON . I FEEL DEFEATED BUT I AM NOT GIVING UP. THEY NEED TO FIND OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. I AM 71 YEARS OLD AND THEY SEEM TO THINK I DON'T KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT. IF THEY HAD CHECKED THE CENSOR WHEN T HIS FIRST HAPPENED IT WOULD PROBABLY STILL BE COVERED UNDER MY WARRANTY. NOW I WILL PROBABLY BE OUT OF POCKET TO REPLACE THE CENSOR.

RECENTLY, I STARTED TO EXPERIENCE ISSUES WITH MY VEHICLE THAT INCLUDED ENGINE STALLING ON THE HIGHWAY DURING HEAVY TRAFFIC CONDITIONS AND ON LOCAL STREETS WHILE DRIVING WITH MY DAUGHTER IN THE VEHICLE. ADDITIONALLY, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS DISPLAYED ON THE DASHBOARD.WHEN THIS OCCURRED, I IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE ALM KIA DEALERSHIP TO REQUEST A DIAGNOSIS OF THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. I ARRANGED TO TAKE MY VEHICLE TO THE ATLANTA WEST KIA DEALERSHIP WHERE A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK WAS PERFORMED STATING THAT, 4 PART INDUCTION SERVICE, 4 PART FUEL INJECTOR REPLACEMENT, AND A 4 CYLINDER TUNE UP WAS NEEDED. WHEN I RECIEVED THE ESTIMATE FROM ATLANTA WEST KIA, I CALLED THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT ALM KIA IN UNION CITY BECAUSE I WAS PERPLEXED THAT THE ABOVE SERVICES WERE NEVER COMMUNICATED TO ME BY MY SERVICE ADVISOR AT KIA UNION CITY WHEN I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE ON 11/11/20. (NOTE: TECHNICIANS ALSO PERFORMED A MULTI-POINT INSPECTION AS WELL). MY SERVICE ADVISOR AARON AUSTIN ACKNOWLEDGED THAT HE NEGLECTED TO TELL ME THAT I NEEDED THE SAME SERVICES THAT ATLANTA WEST KIA WANTED TO PERFORM. HOWEVER, HE STATED THAT IF I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE BACK, HE WOULD PERFORM THE SAME SERVICES FOR $569.99.AFTER OBTAINING BOTH SERVICE ESTIMATES AT THE KIA DEALERSHIPS, I STILL FELT VERY UNCOMFORTABLE WITH THE QUOTES FROM KIA AND DECIDED TO TAKE MY Kia Sorento TO AN INDEPENDENT VEHICLE REPAIR SHOP, TRI-STAR AUTOMOTIVE, IN ORDER TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. AFTER A THOROUGH DIAGNOSIS AND ANALYSIS OF MY VEHICLE ENGINE, TRI-STAR AUTOMOTIVE MECHANICS CONCLUDED THAT MY ENGINE PROBLEMS WERE MORE EXTENSIVE THAN NOTED AT THE KIA DEALERSHIPS.TRI-STAR AUTOMOTIVE PROVIDED A DETAILED ANALYSIS OF THEIR FINDINGS AND WRITTEN ESTIMATE TO REPAIR MY VEHICLE ALONG WITH A PHOTO OF OIL LEAKING FROM THE #4 CYLINDER VALVE OF MY KIA SORENTO ALONG WITH STATING THAT MY ENGINE NEEDED TO REPLACED.
