Automatic transmission was placed into park after driving. The car indicated it was in park, however the car rolled - it was not in park. Applying the foot brake worked. Applying the parking brake worked, however the gearshift did not engage park properly.
Brake failure causing wreck, coming on to a red light, hit brakes and car did not slow down. I swerved to miss hitting the cars in front of me, thinking hitting someone from behind would cause a number of injuries. I missed both of these cars, but had to ru n a red light. There was one car in left hand turn lane on the right. I thought if i could get through the intersection i might could let the car slow down on its own in a field across the street. The car in the turn lane blocked my view on oncoming trafic. A truck going 45 or 50 miles per hour hit me in right front totaling my car and causing me some back and neck injuries. I had my seat belt on and my foot was still on the brake. The air bags worked perfectly, but my car was destroyed. Both vehicles had to be towed off non drivable. I will get photos later. I had a problem earlier in the week, with the brake pedal almost going to the floor before the car would stop.
I was pulling into a disable parking space. I push my brakes to stop the car and the car did not respond to the brake. The anti-lock brakes did not work my car continue to go without stopping. I push my brakes many times, pushing it as far as i can. The only way it stop is when the car hit the fat round cement pole. I know there have been previous complaints regarding brakes. I? M just happy that i was not on road. Please review, this a dangerous issue, which may cause lives.
The horn and alarm dont work even when i set the alarm theres no beep just flashes and ive press the horn multiple times and it doesn't make a sound this occur during driving and after while i was stationary just to check
Backed up driveway to park car in garage. Put car in "park". Got out to clear parking space in garage. Turned around to see car rolling down driveway into wall- while in "park".
Owner was driving on interstate 80 heading east at apx 65 miles per hour. With no warning , oil light started flashing ,car seized up and started making a very loud banging. Owner is a 22 year old new driver and was very lucky to have not been killed. Vehicle has been towed to an authorized kia dealer. The same dealership owner purchased car. Mileage is 78. 000 miles and oil changes have been done at recommended intervals. Owner is waiting to hear from dealership service department.
OUR 2015 Kia Soul EV HAS OVER HEATED THE MAIN CONTROLLER AND SHUT DOWN IN TRAFFIC AND WOULD NOT MOVE. THIS HAPPENED TWICE IN CHANDLER (PHOENIX ) ARIZONA AFTER TRAVELING JUST 10 MILES. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN. THE CAR CANNOT HANDLE THE HEAT IN ARIZONA, GEORGIA OR OTHER HOT SOUTHERN STATES. THE BATTERIES AND BMS ALSO FAIL AFTER 2-3 YEARS.
Sunroof collapsed while driving to school in the morning without any significant change of temperature.
My all electric has a b mode to shift in. Simply put it engages the generator fully when you let off the gas pedal so you can generate electricity. However, when you do this the car brakes quite quick, so quick in fact they call this type of driving one pedal driving due to the fact you very seldom touch the break except for a full stop. The problem is the break lights don't go on unless you put your foot on the break. My concern is the car behind me. If he is not paying attention and does not realize i am slowing down at such a rapid clip bad things can happen, its almost the same as having defective brake lights. My recommendation is to have the break lights come on when you foot is fully off the gas pedal to avoid and rear end collisions for all cars that have this feature. Thank you
The locked doors can be opened when driving. This is an all electric vehicle with no key to remove from the ignition and no noise from the engine and virtually no feed back that the car is running except by looking at the instrument cluster. I pulled into a convenience store parking lot and was discussing with my wife who was to go into the store. Her decision was i had to go into the store. With out thinking and without pushing the button to shut off the car. I opened the locked door and started getting out while the car was still running and in drive. Lucky i was quick enough to get in and stop the car. Yes i should and will be more careful but i feel this is a serious hazard that should be addressed. The irony of the thing is when you start driving the doors lock, and when you put it in park they unlock. A false sense of security but at least you know while driving on the highway at 60 mph a robber can't run up to the car and get in. I think all ev's should have locks that don't unlock until you put the car in park thank you.
After putting the car in park and turning it off, the car started rolling. I stopped the car, turn it on, put it in drive, then turned it back off. It rolled again (in a relatively flat parking structure. ) i normally set the parking break so i'm not sure when this may have started.
As i was pulling into a parking space with my foot on the brake, the car suddenly accelerated and crashed into a concrete pillar. I was driving in the "b" mode. I was able to drive the car home, but later had it towed to the dealer. Unfortunately, they reported that they couldn't duplicate the problem or figure out what caused it.
Nexen tires do not pass state inspection and they have less than 23,500 miles on them, these tires are coming apart gouges down to tell steel belts.
Charging port can automatically lock the charging connector, making it impossible to remove without damage occurring, if not done correctly. Of course, this only occurs with the vehicle stationary at a charging station. (i understand this is not unusual on electric cars because it is supposed to keep people from removing it while the car is charging so they can charge their car. ) i have owned the car for one month and it has happened two times. Both times, "one" of the many things i tried unlocked it but i'm not exactly sure what resolved it. I have been unable to locate anything in the owner's manual telling about the possibility of locking the charging port and online search has only resulted in others saying they have experienced the same problem but nothing from kia motor company about what resolves the issue... Nissan leaf owner's manual clearly tells how to lock and unlock the charging port but i find nothing mentioned about it in my kia manual... Roadside assistance only sends a tow truck driver approximately an hour after the call is made and the driver knows less about the car than the owner. I believe there is the possibility this could be a serious problem, in an emergency or not, whether it results in injury to the person or damage to the vehicle.
