The contact owns a 2012 lexus es350. The contact stated that while sitting in the sun, the dashboard melted causing a glare in the windshield. The contact called the dealer and was advised to take the vehicle to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not diagnosed by a dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact there were no open recalls associated with the vin for the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.

Since i am just finding out how to file a complaint i figured i would. I still have this car with me. The incident happened about 2 years ago. I was driving down the highway going to castle rock colorado. When all of a sudden my car is thrown into neutral and my rpms go to 6,000. I had no way to accelerate and the car wasn't in gear to help decelerate. Since i was going down the highway at a high rate of speed trucks and cars were all around me.. I immediately turned on my four ways and pulled the car over to the side of the highway. As there was nothing wrong with the motor and it seemed like it was just with the transmission i. Decided to continue but as i continued when i got to 4 gear it would once again throw it out of gear and i couldn't accelerate and i had to pull over. At this point i knew something was wrong. I immediately got the car to a safe area and got it home and the next day got the car to the mechanic. The mechanics said that i needed a new transmission 4 gear is just missing. When the mechanic was putting back together. The very expensive $7,345. 00 transmission. He got the parts directly from lexus and when he went to test, drive the car with the same but new components the transmission immediately failed again, not allowing him to shift in the 4 gear and stalling the car putting him in danger on a busy road. When he got back to his shop he called back to lexus to verify that the parts that he was given were correct. They verified that the new parts he was given are the old design and that he needed upgraded newer parts that lexus has designed and should have never gotten the other ones. At this point he got the proper parts again and for a second time put the upgrade parts in and it worked. By lexus not giving the mechanic, the proper upgraded parts. Not only did they put me in danger with the part breaking the first time on the highway they put the mechanic in danger by not giving him the upgraded parts the first time... Thank you

The following two events happened during the first week of april 2024 event #1: while driving at 65 mph on a freeway, the car decelerated and failed to travel above 40 mph. Simultaneously, three warming lights appeared on the dash: a yellow triangle, the check engine light and a "check hybrid system" warning. Event # 2: same symptoms and dash displays as event number one while traveling at 40 miles up a hill.
Driving on the local road, no cars on the road, no underpass and the sunroof exploded. All windows was closed and sunroof was closed.
Recently i purchased a cpo lexus 2018 ls 500. I realized i am not able to enter coordinate in the gps navigation system. Lexus took away the most import tool (the coordinate entry) in navigation system away, this make the navigation system useless and easy to get lost when cell service not available especially in and around state and nation park area.
I allowed a software update to my vehicle about six weeks ago. Now, about 10 minutes after starting the car, a screen comes up, completely covering all vehicle information. The screen does not close except with repeated tapping of the x and the left bar. Closing the screen requires attention that would be better paid to road conditions and other drivers. I asked my lexus dealer service department to get rid of the screen. They were unable to do so. They suggested contacting lexus via the emergency button while parked. I did so but when i replied that i did not have an emergency, i was disconnected. If this screen came up when the vehicle is started, then it would not be a safety concern. But coming up 10 minutes after ignition, it is definitely a dangerous distraction. I live in a mountainous region where driving requires full attention. It is a 30 minute drive to where i can pull over and get rid of the screen. During this time i am distracted by the screen and have no access to vehicle information.

On my 2021 lexus rx350l, the left-hand side outer rear-view mirror vibrates. This can be observed when the car is driven >35mph or when driving on rough roads. At freeway speeds, the mirror vibrates to such a degree that it is difficult to see from it and causes perception issues. I noticed this issue even more pronounced on some other 2021 rx350 vehicles that i test drove before purchasing the one i own. The issue seems to mimic that of l-sb-0058-22. I suspect the cause and remedy are likely the same.
