Lincoln Complaints

2013 Lincoln MKX
  • Date of Incident: Mar-04, 2024
  • Date complaint filed: Mar-25, 2024
  • Failed components: SERVICE BRAKES

Our car has been having issues with the breaks. At random times the break peddle gets very spongy and has to be pushed to the floor before the brakes will activate. The reduced break pressure has caused near crashes as the vehicle does not slow down when the breaks are pushed until the pedal is pushed to the floor. We took the car into a lincoln dealership and they spent a day looking at the vehicle. The mechanic informed us that the vehicle has a faulty abs pump and that the part needs to be replaced to remedy the brake issue. We were told by the lincoln dealer that the part is on back order and that this part is known to fail on our year and model of car.

  • Failed components: ENGINE

The 2017 mkz has an oil leak. I was informed during a recent state inspection and oil changed. When i left to take the car in, i noticed about a fist size spot of oil on the garage floor. When i received the call from the dealership, my mkz was serviced. The oil leak was from the oil pan. I was also, informed it required tsb. Explained by the ford team leader, it did not only need a new gasket. The service for the oil leak required the following; new oil pan, new valve covers, new gaskets, etc. Lincoln has designed a new pan, valve cover, gaskets which should eliminate the oil pan leak. The total repair cost went into approximately 4 times the cost for a normal oil pan gasket replacement. In researching, it appears lincoln has known of the potential problem since 2015 and i purchase this as a new used. When i purchased the car, it was a bought back and i was told all issues were repaired, but it appears if this was an issue in 2015 and lincoln has designed new parts, why was the oil pan and covers not replaced, if this engine has a known history of oil leaking. There not a recall or some type of resolution for the repair after any warranty issues. This is a design and manufacturing fault and negligence on lincoln. Now this extreme high-cost repair is placed on the consumer to fix lincoln's known engine design issue to eliminate the oil leak. Either a recall should have been called or the repair should not be fully on the owner. Now i am beginning to smell oil after just short drives around town.

2015 Lincoln MKC
  • Date of Incident: Mar-01, 2024
  • Date complaint filed: Mar-20, 2024
  • Failed components: FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

There's a fuel system gas delivery malfunction. Vehicle can be inspected per request. Car won't turn on right after having gas pumped. In one occasion while stopped at a red light the vehicle started making this strange loud noise on and off. I had to pull over at a parking lot nearby. The car also had a rolling motion feeling, the speed dial would be moving from 0-2 on its own while being stopped. My husband inspected the car and with a diagnostic device got error code p1450. There are existing recalls for same fuel gas problem for the same make and model and year as our vehicle but our vin number isn't included in those recalls. My check engine light first showed up mid or late february 2024 and early this month is when my car started showing problems, once while on the road and the other instances after pumping gas.

  • Date of Incident: Feb-18, 2024
  • Date complaint filed: Mar-17, 2024
  • Failed components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM, and UNKNOWN OR OTHER

Purchased car in early january 2024 and on february 18th the vehicle wouldn't start. Got the vehicle to start after jumping it and drove straight to the dealership to have it checked / repaired. The car has been in the dealership service bay ever since. I worked with dealership and then escalated the issue to lincoln concierge group (corporate office). I am told it is an issue with the audio control module (acm) where the electronics continue to draw down on the battery even after the car is shut off. The lincoln programmers have taken multiple attempts to fix the problem... All unsuccessfully. The new car has been in the dealership for over a month now. They have provided a loaner in the meantime but that is little consolation for the time and concerns we have with the vehicle purchased. I have asked that they consider the vehicle a lemon and allow for acquisition of another lincoln. These requests have been denied but may be considered in the future. Looking for assistance in resolving this issue.
