Engine oil started leaking after i noticed smoke coming from the hood of the car. No warning signs, no check engine light, nothing to indicate any issues until this occurred. Took the car to the dealership who confirmed it was a cracked cylinder head which is now being replaced.
When the vehicle is put in park and the button is pressed to turn off the vehicle, the radio display screen stays on. I have to recrank the car, put it in a different gear, and then back into park and try again. Sometimes i do this process up to 10 times in order for the display screen to turn off. When the display screen stays on, the battery is drained within hours.
Coolant leaks at the cylinder head around the exhaust manifold , safety was compromised by car overheating in the middle of extremely high level traffic, problem confirmed by mazda dealership, only inspected by dealership, there was no warning indicators from the vehicle. I could smell antifreeze the day before it overheated.
When mazda recalled the front frame they should’ve fixed the rear frame too i believe that this should have been recalled because there is the same problem all over the internet with this model. When my 16 year old daughter was going down the road @ 60mph and the rear subframe broke - bent the exhaust and then the tire rubbed the wheel well smoked like crazy and thought is was on fire & it then had blow out on the highway. Had to have it towed as putting the spare on would have done no good.
The engine developed a sudden coolant leak on the rear of the engine. A warning comes up stating that the car could overheat and lose power. After a few minutes and no sign of the car overheating, the car loses power and slows down on its own. The car has not yet been seen by the dealer or a repair shop due to no appointments available. Mazda usa has issued a tsb stating the issue with the engine and they state that a design flaw causes the cylinder head to crack because of the external forces from the exhaust system over bumps. The failure appeared all of a sudden with no warning lights or indications, it just started leaking a small amount of coolant one day. Now i'm waiting for mazda usa to tell us how they are going to remedy this issue and provide assistance. According to their tsb this affects three different vehicle models with the same 2. 5l turbo engine built from 2016 to 2020.
Water pump failure causing catastrophic engine damage
Front passenger seat caught fire when seat warmers were on. I was travelling in a rural area in alaska when i had to stop because my passenger caught fire on her jacket.
Just before taking the vehicle for a second oil change at a total of 11,664 miles or approximately 7,000 miles between changes, i noticed that the oil level was at least 1 quart below normal. I added oil to make sure that it was above the add point on the dipstick. I researched and found several other complaints about other 2021 mazda turbo engines with the same complaint. I'm concerned that this excessive use of oil will damage the internal parts of the engine.
For the last 2 yrs the screen and radio volume and turned up loudly on it's on while driving and causes a severe distraction. Also the channels change on it's own and beep. The screen changes from light to dark mode on it's own and the bluetooth cuts out while i'm on the phone or it calls someone on my contact list on it's own. It's caused me to be distracted and almost have accidents because it doesn't stop. This is an ongoing problem with mazda owners and should be recalled due to safety concerns there was a recall on older models with the same type of issue. . It's gotten much worse lately and i've just taken it to the mazda dealer. They call a ghost touch and they said mazda is aware of the problem. There has also been reports on the bbb website about similiar issues. I called mazda and they opened a case on it. The case # is 00104322. The mazda dealer said it would cost over $600 to fix and the screen needs to be replaced
