Tl* the contact owns a 2016 mazda cx5 grand touring. The vehicle has toyo a23 tire size 225 55r 19. The contact stated that while washing the vehicle, she had noticed several cracks in the thread on the sidewall of each tire. She also stated that the problem was more severe on both front driver and rear passenger tires. She had initially taken the vehicle to hertrich's capitol mazda(1127 s dupont hwy, dover, de 19901) where they referred her to the toya tire manufacturer for assistance. The contact called the manufacturer and they informed her that there were no recalls on the tires. The contact had yet to experience a failure with the tires. The tire failure mileage mileage was approximately 33,000.
On october 6, 2015, i was traveling on i-70 in southern utah when the rear driver side tire blew out. The tire was a yokohama geolander g91, dot fdf5 pc50814, size p225/65r17/60h. This tire was on my 2015 mazda cx5 when i purchased it in late august 2014. It had 10559 miles on it. Road conditions at the time of the blow out were excellent and the road was very smooth as it had been recently paved. The tire was in 3 pieces, the two side walls and the bottom tread. There was no evidence of puncture. The gentleman who assisted in changing the tire said he was frequently called to that area for flat tire assistance, but he had never seen anything quite like this separation of the sidewalls from the tread. It seems this is a fairly common problem with yokohama tires from my reading of other complaints.
The tire completely separately from the sidewalks on both sides. I heard a pop sound and within 15second i loss control of my car 2015 mazda 6 i have pictures of the incident
While driving home from the shore today going 70mph i heard a popping sound and within 15 second my 2015 mazda 6 13,000 miles was out of control i barley made it crossing four lanes of traffics to get onto the shoulder. Once i exited the car i noticed the left rear tire p245/65r19 sport was the issue upon further examination i noticed the tire broke off approx 1" above where the dot numbers are located. The inside of tire to the rim also broke off completely from the rim. The tire was still completely round but was separated from the rim. Still approx 2" of the rubber was still attached to the both sides of the rim. I took numerous pictures of the tire and rim. I'm now afraid the three remaining tires may still have this type of defect. I was a police officer for the past 35 years and would occasionally travel well over 100mph while performing my duties and not once in those 35 years did i ever experience a tire separating from the rim like today. I really feel that if this happened to an average driver that driver would've completely loss control of the vehicle and could've been seriously injured or death to him or to other drivers. Please respond back to me asap. I also would like to know how i can send you the pictures i took on iphone. [xxx] https://www. Dunloptires.
