The fuel gauge is non linear and erroneous. It is a safety issue because the level of fuel left is unpredictable and i have run out of gas in unfamiliar areas because of this.

Head cracked at just under 49,000. Oil dripping on exhaust entering cabin continuously. This issue was identified by mazda to dealers in 2021 via mazda tsb sa-031/21. Despite having our vehicle serviced multiple times at the puyallup mazda dealership after that date, no mention was made of this noted defect. We drove for about a month inhaling the petroleum fumes often thinking it was from trucks ahead of us on road. Dealership replaced the head assembly but since car was 4 months out of warranty (we are the original owners having purchased it new from this dealership) the dealership insisted on charging us for repairs. We've been breathing fumes from a known issue and others may be as well due to faulty manufacturing the manufacturer and dealer refuse to take full responsibility for. What is clearly a defect.

The contact owns a 2016 mazda mazda cx5. The contact stated that on two separate occasion, the vehicle unintentionally accelerated without warning in an attempt to park the vehicle. On the first occasion, the vehicle drove in between two trees with the contact's foot on the brake pedal before the vehicle came to a stop. The air bags did not deploy upon impact and no injuries were report. The vehicle was towed to an independent body shop where the vehicle was repaired for minor damage. The contact was also informed that no computer codes indicated any signs of a mechanical failure. On the second occasion, the vehicle crashed into a parked vehicle while again attempting to park the vehicle in a parking lot. The force of the collision caused the already hit vehicle to crash into yet another parked vehicle. The air bags did not deploy upon impact and no injuries were reported. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed back to the same independent mechanic where the code reader indicated that the vehicle had a low battery; however, the battery did not need to be replaced. The dealer nor the manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle remained in the possession of the independent mechanic and had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000

I’m getting water in my trunk. Dealership replaced left tail light and both lights on the right. The left is dry and the right is soaked again. At least a gallon of water sitting where spare tire is. I’m seeing many other mazda owners are having the same issue online. This should be a recall. If the water issue doesn’t get fixed it will lead to rusting and mold. My spare tire already is showing rusting.

In september of 2023, while driving i attempted to use the windshield wipers, and they would not function. We live in a rainy part of the country, so having non working wipers is a major safety issue. Research for possible causes pointed to the body control module which had been recalled on mazda 3s in recent years. I took the car to the dealership, and they traced the problem to an internal failure of the body control module. I do not have the component to inspect, and i do not know what the dealership did with it after removal. We filed a complaint with mazda in october of 2023. They gave us case #001-463-33. They were not receptive to feedback, and simply stated many times that there was not a current recall for our vehicle. There were no warning signs/messages/ lights before the wipers stopped working, and they had worked normally the day before.

Mazda has a huge issue with there hlas hydraulic lash adjusters. I've driven the car for 60k+ miles and it's ticked every since i got the car. And many people in the community also have the issue. And mazda says it's fine and to rev the car above 3k rpms. This issue needs to be resolved. Before my warranty went up they said they'd fix it at the dealer if it would tick while in there possession. That's just not reasonable the tick happened as random as it gets. Please please for the sake of mazda and all it's owners make mazda fix this as a recall. Many people in the us would be the happiest people in the planet not having to hear there 20k$ car tick like a broken old piece of junk. Thank you for listening. Your truly a franticly hopeless hard working america with a half broken car.

2018 mazda cx-5 with roughly 52,000 miles on it was emitting a burnt rubber smell and white smoke from the engine. Repair shop thought it was a bad timing lock. Replaced that and car continued to emit white smoke and smell like burnt rubber. Engine then began leaking oil. Took the car back to the repair shop and it was confirmed that the engine had a cracked cylinder head. The repair shop said this is a known issue with 2018-2019 mazdas. In three days time, the engine leaked roughly 1 quart of oil and was deemed not safe to drive by the repair shop.

There is a known issue with the infotainment system referred to as ghost tough. This causes the system to randomly change stations/songs, etc while the car is in motion. There is also a delamination issue. Mazda issued a recall for 2014-2016 vehicles, however a quick internet search shows that this issue continues to be a problem. This issue can be extremely distracting as the driver attempts to stop the system from changing.
