These are two major problem i want to highlight, which need immediate attention one of them is related to steering wheel, which is a major safety concern for this vehicle to be on road. 1) major safety concern- steering wheel steering wheel is catchy when you are driving vehicle on high speed, which make this vehicle so difficult to control/ maneuver and struggling to keep this in a lane steering wheel catchy means- it becomes hard when you steer and then skid before finally engaged. This makes driver nervous and can lead to an accident due to wavy drive 2) engine malfunction light alert in instrumental cluster get on. This give you no choice whether to continue with vehicle. On nov 23rd 2023, i was travelling with my family on national highway 23 from ann arbor michigan to columbus ohio and get stuck in highway due to this suddenly poped up currently, vehicle is with germain mazda columbus and getting diagnosed. However, they confirmed some steering wheel motor problem and they are engaged with mazda corporate. But at the time of this reporting, they have this part backlog of 5 month and will be available by april 2024
My 2019 mazda cx-5 cylinder head cracked at only 60,000 miles. I noticed my breaks were smoking and stopped driving. I then noticed oil leaking from my engine which had blown into my breaks, causing the smoke. There was no check engine indicator on my dashboard, nor did it indicate that my engine had overheated. There was no indication that there was any issues with the vehicle until i noticed the smoke coming from my brakes. I towed the vehicle to the captial mazda dealership in san jose, ca. Per mazda dealership repair estimate: "cylinder head cracked by cylinders 2 and 3". When i asked the dealership service center why this happened, their only response was it was a engine failure and that "over time the cylinder can become warped and crack" and while it that doesn't happen often "it can happen" i asked if there was anything i did that caused this, their only response was "i can check with the technician again". Apparently i did not purchase the "extended warranty" so while the repairs are no fault of my own, i have to pay the $6,000 repair cost.
I am reporting a safety problem with the adaptive cruise control feature of my 2023 mazda cx-90. The adaptive cruise control system does not detect the lanes correctly and applies the brakes unnecessarily, even when there are no cars in front of me. This happens especially on curves and when there are trucks on other lanes. This is very dangerous and i have been close to be rear-ended several times. I do not feel safe driving this car with this feature on. I haven't contacted my dealer, but it seems to be a well known issue for many owners. Https://www. Cx90forum. Steering wheel gets stuck. Can not keep straight on highway.
Fuel smell after a fill-up, fuel pump is cracked/deformed exactly as described in mazda bulletin 5321k (this bulletin excludes this model). Strong fuel smell in the cabin, liquid fuel leaking from the top of the tank.
My air bag light warning light is constantly blinking and i took it to the dealer ship. I informed the service guy this could be a malfunction due to a recall. He only asked me to pay for an diagnostic for $175. 00. I think based on a history dated from 2004-2018 regarding air bags recalls this is a recall. I contacted mazda 1-800-222-5500 option 11/28/2023 @ 10:00 am i reported this to mazda vehicle claim#00156086 and they are stating it is no recall for that vehicle. I think this is a safety risk for me and mazda needs to address this at no charge based on the history of several vehicles
When i put the car in park and push the push start/stop button, the car shuts off but the accessories and middle console display stay on. I have to keep shifting the car between the park position and the drive position before i put it back to the park position for the car to completely shut-off. This car is available for inspection. As far as safety is concerned, the only thing i can think of is that if the car does not completely shut off the battery would drain and not be able to start the car. I took the car to my mechanic and he said that i need to take it to the dealer. The dealer was informed and the dealer said that it was not a recall. The car was only inspected by my mechanic. There were no warning lights or messages in the car or symptoms prior to this happening.
Transmission control module malfunction. The at light came on and the car made a jerking motion and a clunking noise. It lost power and would not shift which is very dangerous in moving traffic. It put me at risk for getting hit by another vehicle not expecting the abrupt change in speed by my vehicle. The check engine light is now lit up. There were no warning lights before the vehicle’s transmission malfunctioned. A code came up on the vehicle when tested. U0101 lost communication with tcm. From what i have read, researched, and have been told this issue is very common for certain years of mazda 3’s including mine.
When i put my car on reverse the sensors beep continuously and give the impression that there are obstacles behind your car. I cleaned all the sensors, but noise is still there. I see a lot of posts regarding same issue.
When using the adaptive cruise control on a multi-lane highway the system will detect trucks/larger vehicles moving into your lane on a slight curve when they are not. The system will apply brakes to avoid a collision. The first time this happened there was no vehicle moving into my lane but there was an 18-wheeler behind me that wasn't expecting my vehicle to brake and they almost rear-ended me. This happened several other times before i understood the problem and turned the system off. I have reported this to my dealer and they stated the problem couldn't be replicated. This has been reported multiple times by other cx-90 drivers on this site and mazda will get someone injured or killed if this is not fixed. If you drive a cx-90 do not use the cruise control until this is addressed by mazda.
