My cars infotainment system, which includes the rearview camera, started malfunctioning in early 2019. The infotainment screen (for the clock, radio, gps and rearview camera) was in a reboot loop (constantly rebooting over and over). When the car is put in reverse, the rearview camera works sporadically, including shutting off in the middle of reversing the car. I took the care to the original dealer and (per the service invoice attached), they diagnosed the problem as "cmu failure" which would cost me $1000 (one thousand dollars) to fix. I refused, as i did not think it was appropriate for the cmu to fail roughly four (4) years after purchase. I googled the problem and it's evident that many other mazda owners have experienced the same problem.

This car is only a few months old, with only 1600 miles. While driving at approx 30 or 40 mph the smart brake system (sbs) falsely detects randomly an obstacle while driving, activating the automatic emergency warning light and alarm. The mazda dealer was unable to duplicate or repair the problem although this has been reported numerous times and was part of an earlier recall. I. E. Mazda recall number 4219l

Infotainment system keeps rebooting in an infinite loop. Vehicle was parked when issue started. Vehicle had been off for about 3minutes prior to issue. Infotainment was working prior to being off for 3 min.

I was driving about 60mph on a 4 lane us route when i heard a loud bang coming from my sunroof. I look in the rearview mirror and see a large chunk of glass flying behind me. I open the sunroof visor partially and notice i am missing glass. The glass for my sunroof is tempered. It was about 65 degrees and very humid, but no precipitation. The picture is from a parking lot about 10mins after the incident.

Mazda dealer is refusing to update software per sspc5 to correct a safety issue relating to the mrcc (mazda radar cruise control) unless i first agree to having mazda connected services installed on my 2019 mazda 3 sedan (csp06). When i purchased my new car mazda connected services was not included in my car. I am now being coerced into having mazda connected services installed into my vehicle before they will correct a safety issue regarding a known issue with the adaptive cruise control. My vehicle is still under warranty but unless i agree to having their telemetrics control unit (tcu) installed, they refuse to install the software to correct the dangerous adaptive cruise concern per sspc5.

The rear wiper stopped working during a drive in heavy rain conditions, similarly like it happen to the same vehicle for the front wipers 6 months after i got the vehicle. I tried to schedule an appointment with the dealer but with the pandemic it was not possible. When i went for the actual appointment on march 2021, they told me the vehicle was out of warranty even though it is barely 3 years old, and just for a diagnostic they will charge $160 plus tax. The potential repair would be extra, ranging from a new bcm to a new motor, or both, scaling up to $450 repair bill. The issue is extremely similar to a safety recall that the vehicle had for the front wiper were they had to change the relays free of charge. I consider this also a safety issue as if you're driving in the highway at 55mph during the heavy rain and you are not able to see and vehicle that comes at high speed, such truck that loose the brakes in a roundabout exit, that poses a safety risk to drivers and owners of this vehicle. A recall should be made for this rear wiper issue like for the front one.

Tl* the contact owns a 2021 mazda mazda3. The contact stated while the vehicle was at a stand still at a parking lot, when it caught fire. The fire department was able to extinguished the fire and filed a report. The police was at the location but did not file a report. The vehicle was drivable but was towed at a tow lot. The contact called local dealer morong falmouth mazda (187 us-1 #1311, falmouth, me 04105: (207) 781-4020) and was made aware of the failure. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. I was driving my vehicle straight ahead on a two-way city street with no other vehicles in front or on my sides. I was traveling at a speed of 40 mph. The two-way street is separated by a concrete divider and trolly tracks. A "brake! " alert appeared on the display screen followed by beeps. Suddenly the brakes were engaged bringing the vehicle to a complete stop causing the vehicle behind to come to a screeching halt. In a few seconds i was able to drive off.

I believe i still have a takata air bag installed in my car. When there was an original question, mazda only inspected the airbag. Is it ok and safe for me to continue to have the takata air bag or should it be replaced?

Horn failed intermittently starting after odometer hit 36000 miles and when brought in for regular maintenance it passed all checks; may 2020 while driving when steering wheel horn was pressed the horn sort of? Whined? In august, while driving when horn was pressed it would whine and done it smelled like something burning; now, if you press horn it doesn? T work but it smells like like something is burning like a cigarette smoldering( there is clearly something wrong with euth the steering or electrical relay sometimes. Mazda won? T assist with this issue saying nothing is wrong - this is a safety issue cause without a horn a car will not pass a safety inspection.

I was driving home from work on 2-16-2021, all of a sudden with out warning, every warning and information light light up like a xmas tree, the power steering went away making it hard to drive, the engine ran in limp mode. , i manage to get it pulled off to a safe spot , turn off the car, and then try to restart. No go , dead the dash lights light up but the starter will not engage. Towed to dealer, 1st they says its the engine computer, then its the , transmission computer. My car has only 39900 mi on it ,mazda refuses to honor its 5yr 50000 mi power train warranty even after calling mazda customer care

My vehicle is less then a year old and has less than 10000 miles on it. The paint is chipping extremely easily. Within the first month i had 3 chips in the paint all the way down to bare metal on the doors. I bought a paint touch up pen from mazda and filled then in. Now, a few months later i filled in 17, yes 17 more on my hood. I didnt even count the chips in the paint on my bumper. This is absurd, my other vehilce that is 17 years on and has over 150k miels has 2 hood chips!! And it's driven the same amount.

The infotainment system computer is on constant reboot loop. At first it would only occur when weather was very cold or hot. Then it started happening at least 75% of the time no matter the weather. I had mazda dealership look at it prior to full warranty running out, they couldn't find an origin of issue and simply checked for software updates. It started happening more frequently and past full warranty so cant get looked at or diagnosed for free. A recall for the infotainment screen was notified to me and replaced at dealership but did not resolve the issue. When it reboots, it occurs for almost entire drive, making it along with all its features unusable. This is dangerous since the backup camera blacks out spontaneously when in reverse. The hands free driving, gps, music, and everything else relating to infotainment system is unable to be used. Many others have had this same issue and mazda has not recalled the part. Because it turns off abruptly when backup cam and gps is in use, it is a major safety issue. It is generally also disappointing because a major factor in purchasing that year and model of mazda was due to the awesome infotainment system, but before warranty expired and after i have been unable to use it 90% of the time.

The charge warning system came on and then a few minutes later my car completely shuts down in the middle of traffic it happened on february 3rd and i had another incident on february the 9th 2021 i took the car in to get looked at my mazda and they couldn't find anything wrong without having the indication when i clearly told them my car stopped in the middle of traffic this is very dangerous and it can cause accidents

I drove my car to the store this morning listening pandora (bluetooth) and on my way back home the infotainment center just started to reboot continuously after i found out resetting it could help i did the back+nav+mute but it didn't work i went to the mazda forum and found out this was an issue with many mazda fans i also found out that replacement of the cmu is very expensive since this is an issue with so many mazda fans why isn't there a recall to address this problem? My backup camera works and one radio station there is no gps and bluetooth just continues to reboot even while driving

Vehicle in motion at 65 mph. Very small rock chip breaks glass from left to right calling for complete replacement. Glass is highly fragile and too thin. Second occurrence in less than one year.

Water coming into cabin from driver door window. Brought it to mazda service center three times and they cannot figure out where water is coming from. Water pools in the door when it rains and seeps into the cabin.

I was accelerating after a traffic light turned green and there were no cars in front of me when the car started braking automatically and came to a full stop. Luckily the car behind me was able to stop in time but there was no warning and no reason. I could have been rear ended. I pulled over and checked the two sensors and neither one was blocked (it had snowed here recently). I'm honestly scared this could happen again and mazda is saying there are no open recalls about this for my car and that the car is fine.
