The contact owns a 2012 mercedes-benz e350. The contact stated while operating the vehicle, there was an abnormal fuel odor inside the cabin of the vehicle. The cause of the failure was not yet available. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The local dealer was not yet contacted. The contact was informed that the vin was not included in the nhtsa campaign number: 12v557000 (fuel system, gasoline). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 183,000.

This past week, i went to the dealer for an intermittent engine light issue. The problem was minor and was fixed (faulty charcoal sensor). I asked to have my spark plugs replaced as well. The service department called me, and said that the engine harness is brittle and if they accessed.. It could break. This was not considered an immediate issue. Quote was $7300 to replace it. This seemed like a defect rather than an standard wear issue (even though i drive a lot, @ 170k highway miles). My car drives like new, and has had no major issues whatsover. In fact, it is only now that i need to have my rotors replaced. Had i not mentioned that i wanted new spark plugs, the issue would not have came up during the service. Vehicle will not crank/start intermittently key turns in the ignition but nothing happens. Front door on the right and left will not operate and have to push down locks in order for vehicle to lock and prevent vehicle/ property theft.
The "distronic" cruise control is so abrupt in its acceleration and declaration that vehicles behind me tend to take evasive action. The car doesn't sense vehicles far enough ahead to take smooth action, resulting in a jarring, favorite, and fearful ride.
Power steering malfunction caused by computer glitch when we had a bump. Seenhtsa recall #17v-595 for earlier manufactured metris. Yes- available for inspection. Yes, loss of power steering endangered us an anything in our path as we attempted to steer the van without powered steering i don’t know if it can be confirmed by a independent service center, but there is a history of this with other owners and i assumed it can. It has been inspected by a merecedes service center, see the enclosed repair estimate. No warning ,a bell dinged a red service message came on when we hit the bump.
Spontaneous shattering of anterior sunroof at highway speeds with no cars around and not near overpasses. Shattered glass rained all throughout the vehicle and passengers. Sounded like a gunshot and the glass appeared to be bowed out.
I was in a collision and the airbags did not deploy. There was a recall on airbags for the mercedes c300 within the year my vehicle was made, however, the recall did not include my vin. Also, the sunroof drain is faulty, which was also recalled on other mercedes c300s within the same production year, again not my vin, but upon inspection by a certified dealership, it appears to be the same issue as other recalled vehicles.
Started the vehicle and used the gear selector to shift to drive. Car did not go into gear. Towed to dealer. Dealer found faulty “ism module. ” apparently a very common issue with these cars. So common that the part is in an “indefinite back order. ” the replacement part is also revised because mercedes knows there was a manufacturer defect with the existing part. I am being charged more than $1600 on a part that the manufacturer has already acknowledged was faulty and created a replacement for it.
