My vehicle has a manufacturing defect that has been causing excessive tire wear and alignment issues. New tires are needed every 7k miles and the wheels will not stay in alignment. The contact owns a 2018 mercedes-benz metris. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 22v482000 (tires) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available.
A safety recall #22v482 was issued on this vehicle on 9/9/2022. It's now been nearly 18 months and the manufacturer has yet to issue a remedy or mark the recall "open" so we can get it addressed. The is effecting both the safety of operation, causing confusion over load ratings, and possibly effecting resell as this information is public. Please get this recall enforced.
The cross wind assist feature on the mercedes sprinter is extremely flawed and dangerous. It is also the only assistance system you cannot disable. We have brought it up to merceds benz mechanics and dealers and they are aware of the issues, but say there is currently no fix from corporate. I have had the system activate hundreds of times on short windy drives. The last incident was driving through nebraska from omaha to the colorado border. The system engaged 600-800 times. It was windy, but the danger wasn't the wind, it was the cross wind assist feature. When the system engages (which appears to be random at times) it brakes one of the front wheels in the direction opposing wind gusts. When this happens your front nose dips sharply in that direction and makes the van rock violently. It does this particularly when other cars or semi-trucks are passing. Sometimes it does it back to back as if the system is engaging to correct itself. It's truly dangerous. I don't know how they released a vehicle with this feature. I was hoping a brand new van of this quality would make long drives feel safer. My experience has been the opposite.
A couple years back i had an engine light pop up and it was the code p052e which as i’ve done my research and read a lot of forums this is a common problem with the w205 mercedes motors. As of today 04/18/24 the engine light came on and i got it diagnosed to find out it is the same problem again. This repair is almost $2000 and it is due to mercedes faulty manufacturing of the pcv valve. I have read things that say there has been extended warranty on it and a lot of submissions for recalls, that i’m not exactly sure of.

My wife and the kids we're stranded for hours because of the esl systems lock the steering wheel and did not allow the car to start or steering wheel to move. She smelled something and pulled over and turned car off. No lights, no way to charge cell phone because no power to the car at all. My family was stranded because of this seems like it's a very very serious issue with a lot of mercedes-benz vehicles. As a consumer mercedes-benz is using cheap parts which can cause people to lose their lives if the steering wheel is to lock up while driving the motor burns out inside of the esl module
