A safety recall #22v482 was issued on this vehicle on 9/9/2022. It's now been nearly 18 months and the manufacturer has yet to issue a remedy or mark the recall "open" so we can get it addressed. The is effecting both the safety of operation, causing confusion over load ratings, and possibly effecting resell as this information is public. Please get this recall enforced.

Rear passenger seat belt will not retract. Has done twice before and took weeks before retracting by itself.
The power steering wheel adjustment stopped working, leaving the steering wheel stuck in a very unconfutable position for driving. The car just ended its 4 yr warranty
My car is a 2015 mercedes benz, i bought it at the agency in 2022. When i tested the vehicle at the agency, i noticed the steering was a little hard. I asked the sales person and he told me it was normal. Then, after 1 year and 5 months, it was on its way. I went to work and the steering wheel jammed and it wouldn't cross and the car turned off then it didn't want to start and it said the following on the dashboard power stering see operator manual
My wife and the kids we're stranded for hours because of the esl systems lock the steering wheel and did not allow the car to start or steering wheel to move. She smelled something and pulled over and turned car off. No lights, no way to charge cell phone because no power to the car at all. My family was stranded because of this seems like it's a very very serious issue with a lot of mercedes-benz vehicles. As a consumer mercedes-benz is using cheap parts which can cause people to lose their lives if the steering wheel is to lock up while driving the motor burns out inside of the esl module
Component: faulty exhaust valves caused the vehicle engine to misfire while driving at high speed (80mph) and required cylinder head replacement. Available for inspection. I was driving through a heavy rainstorm at night on i [xxx] toward roanoke on [xxx]. While i was driving at speeds between 80-84 mph during a work trip from texas to virginia, the vehicle suddenly started shaking vigorously and i was unable to accelerate over 50mph. No alerts came on my system dash nor the mercedesme app on my phone, however, i did notice the ‘check engine’ light suddenly came on. It was very shaky but i was able to continue driving at the slower speed and with the vehicle heavily shaking. The problem was inspected and repaired under warranty by mercedes-benz service in alexandria, va. Had the 2021 vehicle been out of warranty, the repair would have cost around $10,000 according to mercedes-benz service. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. The engine light is one and the related code for the engine light is p052e-71. The valve for crankcase ventilation has a malfunction. There is recall for the code for other mercedes benz car model varies from 2015 to 2019. I believe this code on for gla 250 is the same manufacture malfunction parts and should be recalled for free replacement for safety reason.
The contact owns a 2012 mercedes-benz e350. The contact stated while operating the vehicle, there was an abnormal fuel odor inside the cabin of the vehicle. The cause of the failure was not yet available. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The local dealer was not yet contacted. The contact was informed that the vin was not included in the nhtsa campaign number: 12v557000 (fuel system, gasoline). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 183,000.
