I have had multiple issues with this suv. The main issue i am writing this for is because the car was hit stopped at a red light by another car going over 40 mph. The car rolled back then slammed into my car again going just as fast. The airbags did not deploy and the seatbelts did not lock. The impact actually broke the seats the passenger and i were sitting in. There were extensive injuries that happened because of this. The suv was deemed a total loss because of the extensive damage done to the car. There were no warning messages, no recalls, etc. The suv was inspected by a mechanic and insurance company and both said that the airbags should have gone off and the seatbelts should have locked based on the amount of damage to the suv. I also took this suv into the mitsubishi dealership for all services/maintenance and nothing ever came up about any issues.
Extreme fraying of the seatbelt.
Hood flutters badly when passing oncoming traffic. Specifically trucks. Sometimes it blows up about an inch or more and i fear it will come loose and open eventually.
2016 se 2. 4l awc. Purchased car in february 2022 at 66k miles. In december of 2022 at 78k miles, car lost majority power while traveling at 40 mph, threw 'tranmission servie required' warning light. Drove 3 blocks home, parked for 2 hours. Turned car on and drove normally without lights. Previous event happened x3 before changing transmission fluid in february 2023. From february to may, roughly 500 miles, no codes occured. However, occasional hesitation when accelerating from a stop. Then, in may 2023, while traveling 80 mph, rpms shot to 6000, car began to lose power. Pulled to shoulder, turned car off and on, and was able to travel home without issue, another 15 miles.

None of the air bags went off and i hit two trees going 45mph.
This car is a lemon. First the hood. Finally got that fixed. Then seat belts & fuel injection piece... Got fixed. Then a whole piece fell off and was in my driveway. Took it to dealership & was told no way this was from my car because it was from and old lancer that isn't made anymore. Then turned out it was in fact uses on my car. They took awhile but then replaced part. It was something for ac exhaust. Now it's the brake system giving me random mesaages while driving that brake system is out but dealership cant duplicate measage and said my brakes are in "good" shape. What do i do? Wait for them to go out & i get into a serious accident? Also and rear camera going out when i'm reversing. Dealership couldn't duplicate it and said it was fine. Kept happening, i went back & they finally said mitsubishi can't figure it out & i just have to wait. Now the collision system is saying it's not functional and to be aware that it's "off. " now i'm nervous the structure of the top of my car is bad since i read that's another recall and the whole car needs to be replaced. I have had nothing but 1 bad thing after another with this car and it's frustrating. Why can these "off the manufacturer line for these 2022 outlanders" be completely recalled and cars replaced. Many to most of us that bought these cars have children we commute with everyday all day. This isn't safe. Help us all out mitsubishi! Please!
The contact owns a 2012 mitsubishi outlander sport. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the battery warning light illuminated. Additionally, the vehicle overheated. An independent mechanic arrived at the scene and informed the contact that the serpentine belt had detached. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred 2 more times. The contact related the failure to nhtsa campaign number: 18v069000 (engine and engine cooling). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 102,000.
I had a very serious accident last week while driving my 2021 mitsubishi mirage. The front of my vehicle was significantly impacted, but none of the airbags were deployed. I can't believe that this nearly brand-new car, which had all the inspections and services at the manufacturer's centers, has this problem. This is a life-threatening failure of a crucial safety component that didn't work during the accident. Everything has been documented by both the insurance company and myself and can be shown to other parties.
The backup camera is too dark and blurry, cannot see anything from it in the daytime. There are no settings to make it brighter. I have cleaned the outside of the camera lense, no change.
