The contact owns a 2019 mitsubishi outlander sport. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 22v563000 (power train) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the dealer refused to perform the software update on the vehicle because the vehicle had a salvage title. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
On a windy day or a regular day once the car get to about 45 mph or higher the hood begins to flap, bounce, vibrant as if it is going to fly open. As if the wind is getting under and getting ready to take it away.
Entire engine and electrical system failure not corrected with new battery or $30,000 mi. Service. Once i turn car off, everything freezes up and won’t start again. Windows, steering, starter, everything locks up. Had to tow it to service 2 times in 3 weeks and they claim they can’t find problem. Dangerous!
Car suddenly freezes and no system works. Won’t start, shift, whole electric system gone. Happened several times. Very dangerous and dealer has no idea what’s wrong. Can’t get anyone at mitsubishi to respond. Only had car 6 months and it has $36,000 miles.
The car has a rapid war of rotors and break pads. The car inspected authorized dealer ship and they mentioned this is a very common issue on outlanders as the rotors, calipers, and breaks did not properly design for the wight of the car. It seems the manufactures and authorized dealer aware internally form the defect but do not take necessarily actions which may cause safety issue to owner of this make and model. After the dealer inspected the car i asked for the report but the dealership made all the report unavailable online and said they cannot provide any document
The car started using more fuel, hesitatingly, slipping gears wouldn’t go in gear, died while driving.
I keep getting a message on my dashboard that indicates my engine malfunction power reduced service now…. This is the second time this has happen … first time i took it to dealer they said oh they don’t see anything after taking to put it on machine and it said my engine was failing then today easter it’s back and it’s really scaring me and the dealer is to far to be driving the car and this message keeps appearing
The car turned off completely and then a few seconds later turned back on.
In 2020 i got a recall for engine support from mitsubishi. We took it in and told me that the support was find that i didn’t need to be replace even tho the recall called for it. They ended up putting rust paint on the support. 4 weeks ago that part broke on my wife when she was driving down the road. The steering wheel was taken out of my wife’s hand while driving. She was able to get the off the road safely. But sprained her wrist. When i found the broken part on the car. I call mitsubishi themself. When i reported these issue, i was told that someone would be coming to my house to look at the car. I signed a form for them to do that. And for the to read the computer on my car. That was 4 weeks ago. I have emailed them and called them. And no one knows what i’m talking about our replying to my email. And on top of it all we are missing work, at least one day a week because of this.
The fuel pump is failing causing the car to shut down randomly.
