    Cvt transmission is jerking, stalling, shuddering, and hesitating while driving. Car only has 65k miles. Issue has been happening randomly for about a week. I do not feel comfortable driving in the car anymore because i feel that this malfunction can eventually cause an accident.

    The vehicle abruptly lost reverse gear while driving on a public roadway. After approximately 3 hours of continuous highway driving, the vehicle was brought to a stop, placed into reverse, accelerated in reverse for approximately 100? , and shifted back to drive. After subsequently coming to a stop, operator attempted to put the vehicle in reverse again but vehicle failed to engage the reverse gear. In fact the vehicle was essentially in neutral despite the gear shifter indicating? R? Gear. Again, the gear shifter would readily shift to? R? But in fact no gear was apparently engaged as the vehicle would roll downhill as if it were in nuetral. Vehicle failed to proceed in reverse despite opening the throttle (i. E. ? Giving it gas? ). As far as we could tell the vehicle was able to shift to park and drive. The vehicle was able to proceed in drive. No excessive noises or vibrations were experienced throughout the duration of this incident. Owner called local nissan dealership to report the trouble and later delivered vehicle to dealership. Dealership advised that it had contacted nissan engineering hotline for direction how to proceed. Dealership stated nissan engineering hotline advised replacement of transmission. Nissan consumer affairs refused to provide any assistance or consideration to customer except to rely upon extended warranty purchased by customer at original sales transaction. Dealership stated all labor and material were covered by warranty. This 4 year old nissan suv has only 1 original owner, has kept up with all scheduled maintenance performed by nissan dealership, and has operated for fewer than 10,000 miles per year. Approximate mileage at incident is 38,200 miles. According to the dealership the make and model of the replacement transmission is jatco corp. Re7r01b x100a.

    HELLO, I BROUGHT MY 2017 Nissan Rogue IN MAY 2020. HERE I AM NOT EVEN A FULL YEAR LATER WITH 64000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE AND THE DEALER IS TELLING ME THAT I NEED TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION (CVT). I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE IN BECAUSE MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE VEHICLE WAS JERKING BACK AND FORTH UPON ACCELERATION. THE EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT I PURCHASED EXPIRED AT 60,000 MILES OR 24MTHS WHICH EVER CAME FIRST (WHICH I SHOULD NOT HAVE EVEN PAID FOR AT THIS POINT). I NOTICED THAT SEVERAL HUNDREDS OF NISSAN CUSTOMERS WITH THE SAME YEAR ROGUE ARE HAVING THE SAME EXACT ISSUE WITH THEIR CVT. NISSAN HAS PLACED A BULLETIN OUT ON THEIR 2016 MODELS BUT NOT ON 2017. I AM HOPING THAT NISSAN CAN ASSIST WITH THE REPAIRS (COST$4400) THAT ARE UNJUST. I HAVE CONTACTED NISSAN CONSUMER COMPLAINTS OFFICE AND THEY JUST SENT AN EMAIL STATING THEY COULD HELP.

    THE CVT TRANSMISSION WENT OUT WHEN WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. THE Rogue WOULD NOT GO FORWARD OR BACKWARD TO THE GET ROGUE OFF THE HIGHWAY. THE CVT TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REPLACED WITH ONLY 78,000 MILES AND OUT OF WARRANTY. THE CVT HAD BEEN SERVICED AT THE DEALER AT THE RECOMMENDED MILEAGE.

    While driving the vehicle, noticed the vehicle start to sporadically jerk. Engine rpm would jump and the accelerator was non responsive at times. No check engine light activated. Pulled up to a stop light and when the light turned green the accelerator would not work at all. Pushed the pedal to the floor and had no response at all. Still no check engine light. Contacted nissan and they stated the issue was the cvt transmission starting to fail. Car is a 2017 and has less than 92000 miles on it. Extended warranty ends on that year at 84000 miles. Without warranty coverage the repair is around $4000. Looked all over the internet and found lots of people are having the same issue. Nissan needs to extend the warranty or issue a recall. It is a serious problem to be driving and lose accelerator response all together
