    2015-2019 NISSAN MURANOS HAVE AN ON-GOING ELECTRICAL HAZARD WITH THE CLIMATE CONTROLLED SEATS. THE ELECTRICAL HARNESS CONNECTOR DIRECTLY UNDER THE SEAT WILL FAIL AND ACTUALLY GET SO HOT IT WILL MELT THE PLASTIC PIECES! IN FACT, NISSAN HAS ISSUED IT'S OWN 15 PAGE SERVICE BULLETIN WARNING TO ITS DEALERS ON THE FIRE DANGER (EL18-035, REFERENCE NTB19-004, DATED 17 JANUARY 2019). THIS BULLETIN GRAPHICALLY SHOWS PICTURES OF HOW THE HARNESS CONNECTOR AND THE SEAT CONTROL UNIT WILL GET SO HOT THEY WILL MELT AND FAIL. IT ALSO DETAILS HOW LOCAL DEALERS SHOULD REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE CONNECTOR AND EVEN HOW THEY SHOULD CHARGE NISSAN BACK FOR THE REPAIR (PAGE 15 - PRIMARY PART LINE CLAIM). MY 2016 Nissan Murano SUFFERED THE SAME DRIVERS SEAT ELECTRICAL FAILURE RECENTLY. I VISUALLY VERIFIED THE DAMAGED (MELTED) CONNECTOR UNDER THE SEAT AND CONTACTED MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALER (YOUNGBLOOD NISSAN, SPRINGFIELD MO.). I PROVIDED THEM THE NISSAN ALERT INFORMATION. THE DEALER IS REFUSING TO FIX THE KNOWN FAILURE UNLESS THEY ARE PAID FOR THE SERVICE WORK (ESTIMATED IS OVER $300.00)! GIVEN THAT THIS FIRE HAZARD COVERS FOUR YEARS WORTH OF NISSAN MURANO PRODUCTION AND THE 2016-2019 TITANS, NISSAN SHOULD FIX THE DEFECTIVE PARTS FOR FREE. WHILE IN MY CASE THERE WAS NO ACTUAL FIRE OR DAMAGE BEYOND THE MELTED ELECTRICAL PARTS AND LOSS OF THE SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL FEATURE..I HAVE LEFT THE DEFECTIVE PLUG DISCONNECTED, STILL LEAVES ME VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THEY SAFETY OF MYSELF AND MY FAMILY. I HAVE ATTACHED IMAGES OF BOTH THE INTERNAL NISSAN SERVICE BULLETIN AND AN IMAGE OF MY MELTED AND DEFECTIVE ELECTRICAL PLUG. THANK YOU.

    When driver seat is moved to highest point, the side view mirror blocks your view from from seeing anything on the entire front side of the car. I'm 5ft so i need the seat all the way up. Almost had several collisions because you can't see past or around side view mirror.

    I recently purchased this vehicle in february of this year. Upon driving a few times, the air bag sensor light appears and stays on my dash along with when i have a passenger in the car, the passenger air bag sensor does not turn off. It is now march and i still have the same issue. According to the carfax report i received when purchasing the vehicle, a maintenance check was conducted by the local nissan dealer close to me in january, it only shows the current recall of a hood latch (20v315 - that apparently no part is available for). I was advised by a service repair representative that the air bag sensors under the passenger seat are broken and were not repaired during that maintenance check. I questioned as to why with no explanation given. I advised that this is a safety concern and should fall back under the recall from 2016 (16v244) with the service representative stating that it doesn't!! Is it possible for this to be fixed under that recall or does a new recall have to be in effect?? Looking out for the safety of myself and fellow passengers. Thank you from a very concerned vehicle owner.

    The passenger seat would not lock when moved. On only one side. We took it in an the dealer said that is was known to them but was not safety risk. If i had to stop fast and the seat was not locked on one side the torque would have bent the bar and caused damage to the passenger. They say they fixed it but i cannot be sure. I was also told the there were multiple others they had fixed. I think this needs to be looked at for safety reasons.     ON 02/09/2021 APPROXIMATELY 8PM, ARRIVED TO MY DESTINATION, TURNED CAR OFF, WENT INSIDE. APPROXIMATELY 1.5 HOURS LATER (9:30PM) WENT BACK TO MY CAR TO BRING MY SUITCASE AND PILLOW IN. WHEN I REMOVED MY PILLOW FROM THE BACK PASSENGER SIDE SEAT, NOTICED THE BIG SCORCHED AREA AND THE SEAMS WERE BRIGHT RED, THE SEAT WAS BURNING HOT TO TOUCH. BURNING SMELL WAS NOTED, AND THE SEAT SWITCH WAS STILL ON THOUGH THE CAR WAS OFF OVER A HOUR. THE OTHER SEATS WERE NORMAL ( COOL ) TO TOUCH. I IMMEDIATELY DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY CABLES AND STAYED BY THE CAR MAKING SURE THE SEAT AREA COOLED TO NORMAL. NOTE.....MY PILLOW WAS SCORCHED TOO. THE CAR IS A 2017 Nissan Murano, BOUGHT IT NEW.
