2020 Ram 1500
  • Date of Incident: Dec-09, 2020
  • Date complaint filed: Mar-26, 2024
  • Failed components: FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

The gas tank on the 2020 ram 1500 classic for some reason causes false fuel pump stoppages as if the tank was full. This causes fueling times to sometimes last 10 to 15 minutes and also causes a considerable amount of spillage due to the blowback of fuel. This creates a safety issue due to the possibility of fuel spraying back onto the driver. This is a known and recurring issue as i've seen it appear on several forums and pages numerous times from other ram truck owners. Mopar should make this gas tank issue a recall as soon as possible.

Abs and traction control light is on in the instrument cluster indicating a failure of the anti lock brakes. I took my vehicle to my local ram dealer and they did a system scan. One of the results was a defective abs module. I was told by the dealer that a replacement module was not available due to national backorder. They could not give me any date of availability to correct this dangerous failure. I shopped all over for a after market module but was told it was a ram dealer item only. So i either have to continue to drive my truck without the aid of antilock brakes or try to buy a used module from a scrap yard and see if it will restore my abs function.

At 125,000 miles my truck developed a hemi tick. Now upon research it is said it is normal, however i don't3 see how such a thing is normal when the possibility of your engine going from running to not running. There have been things stated to try and i have tried them all yet the tick still remains and has actually gotten worse. This vehicle is my main means of transportation to and from. Being a senior it is very difficult for me or my wife to travel to doctors appointments that are very critical to our existence. So what is left? The manufacturer says this is normal but it is not a normal thing for your engine to suddenly quit especially when you maintain regular service on it. This is going on with to many owners and to say it normal is just a way to get away with fixing the issue. Something needs to be done about this issue as so many folks are and have put in tremendous amounts of money in their vehicles to have to turn around and spend another 7500 or so into getting it going again because, "this is normal. "

Power steering hard to turn truck when driving. Very stiff. When driving on curvy highways going right on slightly (curves) wheel fights back going left. Like a pulsating pull. With power steering you can turn the wheel with your finger right to left, but can’t with the stiffness. Haven’t had it checked out yet.
