Consumers have filed a total of 1,833 complaints for 1500 models.
2019 ram laramie 4x4, 5'7", crew cab with less than 9000 miles on it, getting intermittant "service airbags" messages with dinging alarm for past 2 weeks and now, getting "passenger seatbelt alarm" intermittently as well with my wife buckled securely in the passenger seat, while i'm driving.
Power steering stopped working in the middle of driving around a parking lot. The truck is extremely hard to steer around corners. It? S very dangerous driving this truck with no power steering.
The fuel pump went out then the dealer replaced it two months later the fuel sensor goes out and they replaced it total cost on my behalf was$340. 00. Window motor also went out driver side and it was replaced. The vehicle is five years old with 37,000 miles why so many issues. Was there a recall for all this problems
Rear backup camera stops working
Cruise control won't turn on and buttons related to cruise control are unresponsive. Last time it did work about a month ago the cruise control wouldn't turn off with the steering wheel button, had to hit the brakes. Vehicle had all recalls done, there was one related to the cruise control. Fixed one thing now all these other things are happening. That's my only complaint, there definitely needs to be another recall for this.
Accident happen 5/20/20. Was approaching a stopped vehicle when the brakes failed. Kept trying to apply brakes and nothing happen. Impact at approx 35 mph. After impact the truck started to roll backwards and had to put in park to stop the truck. Tow truck drive also had issues loading on the roll back, brakes would not work. We towed to our body shop for repairs. Then was taken to faulkner dealership for edr testing. Nothing mechanical was ever done with the truck after the body work was done. Bosch released the truck to the dealership. Truck has 513 miles and little over 200 of the miles are what we drove it. Purchased with miles on it. Fiat / chrysler do not see an issue with the truck via the report. I have sent the report to a separate party that is not hired by fiat and they indicate to research page 42 of the report on the master cyclinder braking system. We do not see any indication on any codes that were recovered preformed by bosch. We know in fact that there were multiple brake codes and feel that the information in still in the "black box". Airbags never deployed at impact of 35 mph frontal impact.
Driving at approximately 30mph through an intersection on city streets hit another vehicle head-on that was traveling towards me at approximately the same speed. The airbags in my vehicle did not deploy.
Steering sticks in the 11 o'clock position in left curves of 30 degrees at speeds of 30 mph or more. The faster the speed the more pronounced the stick. This is the sticking problem reported by many in the electric power steering, not to be confused with the ground issue total power loss. The problem was originally corrected at 1879 miles by the dealer replacing the rack and pinion assembly. Problem reappeared over the weekend 7/24/2019 at 35,200 miles. I'll be taking it to the dealer this week. It is obvious that there is something amiss in ram's rack and pinion assemblies. This problem could definitely result in the death or injury of the occupants of the vehicle or the occupant's of other vehicles. I find references on ram forums about this issue as far back as fall of 2018, the same as my original problem. I am highly surprised that ram hasn't found an answer for this problem.
While i was driving my truck, the panoramic sunroof shattered. The cover was closed during this time. I was driving approx. 35-40 mph, with the temperature around 85-90. I was driving straight on an open road with no vehicle in front of me. There were no other debris from the vehicle, except for the shattered glass. I brought the vehicle to the ram dealership where i am waiting for repairs. At this time, the dealership is not saying whether it will be covered by warranty or if i have to pay out of pocket.
I have owned a 2020, ram 1500 limited edition since march 2020. When driving the steering sticks in the 11:00 position. If i release hand off wheel and steering remains in position. I have to pull the wheel back to 12:00 position. This problem started occurring about 2 months ago and has progressively been getting worse. I travel 1500 to 2000 miles a month and afraid i may over correct especially in heavy traffic. Spoke with dealership and they said this was the 1st they have heard of this issue. Have not found a solution to the problem. I will be taking the truck back to dealership sat july 25, 2020.
MY 2018 DODGE Ram 1500 WITH 32000 MILES HAS A PROBLEM SHIFTING OUT OF PARK, AND NOW HAS "CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON" NOW!
Cruise control system disengaging during freeway operation. When attempting to re-enable cruise control system, vehicle shows cruise control system still active. Cruise control system must be deactivated to re-enable cruise control. The slowing force was so noticeable, it almost felt like the truck was applying brakes, or trans brake. This issue has occurred 3-4 times withing the past week.

This began intermittently, but is now constant while driving and while stationary. After fully filling the gas tank a warning light flashes and has a picture of the fuel tank, and the fuel level indicates that the fuel level is empty; a false fuel tank reading.
Truck has electric power steering. Was in a parking lot and started the truck but the steering was locked. Could not get it to unlock and had towed to nearest dodge dealer. They are saying it is the rack and pinion that is bad and needs replaced. Truck only has 23000 miles on it and is currently owned by a single mom who only uses it to take her kids to school, go to work 3 days a week and errands around small town. Usually drives maximum of 50-75 miles or less per week.
