The known issue that ram refuses to is plaguing my truck. Abs and traction control lights come on. This shuts off the cruise control as well as makes braking difficult. It is very dangerous. This is a ticking time bomb. Vehicle has under 50k miles on it. 2017 and 2018 have been known to have faulty ecu module and hcu. Loss of brakes momentarily occurred on 4/19/24. While driving, the "service electronic brakes " and traction control light will come on periodically, then go away. The issue is random and not consistent or easy to predict. If the cruise control is active, the cruise control will disengage and the truck will start to slow down. The brakes seem to work the same even if the light is on or off.
Service abs lights flash then go away no abs functioning intermittent
Steering rack and pinion - began malfunctioning (noise, and vibration when turning) at less than 10,000 miles. I visited ram dealer several times between 10,000 - 34,000 miles and they stated they could not replicate the issue. I drove the vehicle with their technical and they agreed there was an issue. Finally they replaced the steering system when it had about 34,000 miles. This is a potential safety issue. Drive selector switch - i have had 3 selector switches (move from park to drive, reverse, etc. ) malfunction and require replace (started in side of standard warranty), they appear to be replacing faulty part with same part. Most recent repair in april 2024 only lasted about 150 miles before the device went bad again. This is a potential safety issue. Radio - my 12" radio has been replaced 3 times. At times it impacts the controls of the vehicle features, heating, air-conditioning, etc. Starting at less than 10,000 miles inside normal warranty. Water leak - i have a rear cabin water leak... Mold and mildew in car (39,000 miles). The dealer did an initial inspection and said it had a know issue... Back window and/or brake light leaks and requires further evaluation. This is a health issue - due to mold and mildew.
Out of nowhere the power steering has gone out. Trying to start back up and now power steering light is on.
Sudden unexplainable loss of powersteering
The dealer and manufacture have not been able to fix emissions issue. It has cause severe fuel saturation in oil and has cause severe motor damage. No one cares and they brush it off as no big deal.
The electric steering gearbox failed while driving down the road, leaving me completely without any steering.
12 inch head unit ( uconnect 5 system) this is a constant problem with all of the uconnect 5 systems with various issues. All due to software issues. Sometimes it gets so bad that you can’t even connect with uconnect service and sos in case of an emergency.
This is a safety recall issue, i continue to have a problem with this dealer (hunter dodge in lancaster ca) on resolving 3 safety recalls on my 2022 ram 2500 i have been on the dealers waiting list for 8 months now. Recently i received a call from chrysler co. That the dealer had the parts inhouse and i should call the dealer (hunter dodge in lancaster ca) to set up an appointment. I called the person who is responsible at the dealership to get an appointment, she stated there was no reason for the appointment because she did not have the parts to fix my truck and hung up the phone. I received a call from chrysler saying the parts are at the dealer, and yet when i call they continue to say the parts are not in. I am planning to go out of town with my family soon and i am very worried about this being a saftey issue for 8 months now. I wonder if this problem qualifies as a 'lemon law' issue or any other action? , i hope you can help resolve this issue. Gary garibay (661) 547-2746 04/17/2024
