    Slowly pulling straight into parking spot at grocery store. Applied brake when car suddenly accelerated. I was able to control steering, but brakes would not work. Steered car into empty parking spot in front of me then turned hard right to avoid hitting parked cars in row across. Subaru hit a pick up truck that was reversing out of a diagonal parking spot. The car didn't stop upon impact, instead both right side wheels climbed up the side of truck at an angle. Air bags didn't deploy on impact. This was a very dangerous situation. The acceleration was uncontrollable and i am afraid to drive the car.

    TL-THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 Subaru Forester. WHILE BACKING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY, THE BRAKES FAILED AND THE VEHICLE BACKED INTO ANOTHER PARKED VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT FILED. THE DAMAGED WAS TO THE RIGHT REAR BUMPER AT A COST $800. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER YARK AUTO GROUP 6039 CENTRAL AVE, TOLEDO, OH 43615 (419) 877-7725. THEY QUOTED A PRICE OF $8000 TO FIX THE ENTIRE BRAKE SYSTEM, SINCE THEY CAN' REPLICATE THE BRAKING ISSUE.THE MANUFACTURER OFFERED THE CONTACT A $1000 FOR A TRADE IN. THE CONTACT DOES NOT WANT TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE BECAUSE HE FEELS THE MANUFACTURER FAILED IN MAKING THE BRAKE SYSTEMS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,000. TF

    2018 Subaru Forester. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO BRAKING ISSUE. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE BRAKE PEDAL BECAME SPONGY/MUSHY AFTER DRIVING SEVERAL MILES. THE PEDAL WOULD CONTINUE TO TRAVEL TO THE FLOOR AFTER BEING DEPRESSED. *JS

    While car was slowing in a parking lot area, turning and braking (have witness to attest to this), it had sua (sudden unintended acceleration) as i was about to park and the vehicle went over a curb and through a building wall in less than 10 seconds. The air bags did not deploy. This car also had a recent recall involving the electrical brake system lights/sensors. There was no alcohol, pills or anything of that sort involved and nor was a cell phone in play and no distractions. The car was being parked, as is the case everyday and there was a jolt of acceleration as i was doing so, which in turn caused confusion and panic. My foot was not on the acceleration as this happened. I am very fortunate that no one was hurt. Although, seeing how i have never been involved in a wreck before, this has all been very traumatic. (driving for almost 20 years) i have notified my insurance and subaru about what happened. Hopefully they can shed some light on the situation so it won't happen to anyway one else. The other people that it has happened to, upon research, my heart goes out to them.

    The car was wobbly and went in for service and they found one rear strut the technician took it for a drive and the other one broke on him. It costs me $1390 to fix it and i drove it on the highway and it still wobbly. Subaru does not want to acknowledge the fact there is a major issue with this vehicle. This should have been recalled by subaru when they knew about this. This car also had rotors that needed to be replaced, the arm control, wheel bearings all under 60,000. This is a serious issue, i could get killed or have a major accident and subaru does not want to hear about it. I am scared to drive this car. The consumer stated the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered to assist with the repairs. *js
