Thermal control valve became inoperable at less than 40,000 miles. Engine shut down and began to overheat. Part is known to easily fail by subaru. Has been examined by dealership. All warning lights came on at once, and cruise control and eyesight were disabled. Nhtsa recall number 23v755000 we have been on the list for this recall repair since 12/28/2023, we were told when we scheduled the service appointment for the tcv that the dealership was not doing any more recall repairs any time soon as they could not get parts.
Windshield cracked when vehicle was traveling at a slow rate of speed, in the rain while on an on/off ramp. It has already been repaired. Crack went across the windshield right in my line of vision. The dealer examined the car and stated that at some point, the windshield was hit and that it just eventually cracked. There was no warning prior, i had not noticed any nicks prior to the crack.
3rd battery in 2019 Outback. Park car and next day battery is dead. And fully dead. Does not even want to take a charge at times…. 39000 on vehicle. Dealer could not find anything. Coincidently the passenger front window quits working also. There is no warning to this just next day vehicle will not start. All work is done at the Mandan nd Subaru dealership.
The parking brake actuator has failed. A recall already exists for this exact component but only extends to manual transmission vehicles. The recall for manual transmission vehicles is # 18v626000; the latest version of the part in question is subaru part #26002aj01e. The recall refers to a manufacturer defect. The quoted repair price for this issue is over $1300; the part alone is $850. At that price, many people (including me) simply cannot afford the repair and will have to forgo the added layer of safety provided by the parking brake. It is clear subaru is aware of a manufacturer defect impacting a safety critical part but has minimized their costs by restricting the recall to a small subset of vehicles. Additionally, given that subaru is charging $850 for a relatively simple component, subaru may be seeking to profit from their own mistake. I request that nhtsa require subaru to extend the recall to all vehicles with that component, not just the ones with manual transmissions. While automatic transmission vehicles have the parking gear manual transmission vehicles lack, i can think of a number of circumstances in which a parking brake could be critical. Barring that, i request nhtsa order the manufacturer of that component to provide repairs free of charge in the event of a failure.
Both front headlights cast a tabbed rectangular shadow into driver's field-of-view creating two potentially dangerous disruptive shadows/dead spots at certain longer distances and in open flat terrain areas. These tabbed rectangular shadow/dead spots often tricks the driver into falsely responding/over-reacting unnecessarily. The dead spots in the driver's field-of-view can be potentially dangerous while driving at night and around turns/corners where the led headlights automatically track and follow based on the steering inputs by the driver. These projected tabbed rectangular tabs often startle my wife and or i often tricking our eyes into seeing what appears to be an object darting out in front of the vehicle.
Suddenly warning light "check engine" came on along with eye sight malfunction warning. "i rab off" "check engine" automatic emergency braking not working. Yes, available for inspection. Not confirmed yet by dealer. It is the weekend. There were no unusual symptoms prior to adas malfunction.

I put my 2019 Subaru Outback in park, stepped out of my car and the car proceeded to unexpeectedly roll forward with the door knocking me to the ground. The back wheels of the car then ran over both my legs. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance company or anyone else. I sent a letter January 1, 2024 to Subaru's Customer Advocacy Department, but have not received a response. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the car unexpectedly going out of gear after being placed in park. prior to this occuring.
While on highway 880 north bound. A rock was thrown towards our windshield while going through construction zone.
The cars left front and right front side headlight reflectors do not properly provide adequate reflected light, which lowers the visibility to other road users, almost causing a recent crash. Also, the left front halogen low beam reflector does not properly illuminate the roadway for the driver, substantially reducing driving visibility.
