Coolant bypass sensor is faulty
I was driving on a highway posted speed limit 75mph on a clear day with no precipitation and without cause, the panoramic sunroof above my head imploded with glass shattering down upon my head. I did not hit anything and nothing hit me. No rocks, no debris, no outside force caused this. The panoramic sunroof showed a crack around the seal where it meets the body of the car and it imploded and cracked (shattered) inward from this cracking.
I have notice for the past year when i’m driving the car around the city around 15-30mph the emergency auto braking system alarm sounds and shows on my dash board when i have nobody in front of me luckily the car doesn’t brake at all but is not normal for it to do that it just happens randomly maybe this year alone it happen 5 times. Nobody safety was put at risk the car doesn’t brake or anything but it just sounds the alarm to brake, like 100% of the time is a low speeds. I haven’t taken it to the dealer, and i have no warning lights nothing at all is just random.
The contact owns a toyota. The contact stated that while attempting to enter the truck, she became aware that the trunk had failed to close properly, after which the contact was unable to open the trunk. The door-ajar warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the trunk hinges. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 35,000.
The contact owns a 2022 Toyota Highlander. The contact stated that after a car wash, he became aware that parts of the bumper had detached. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V720000 (Structure) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. The failure mileage was approximately 33,000. The VIN was not available.
1. The coolant bypass valve failed. I had to pay about $950 to get it fixed because it is a safety issue and was not covered under any warranties. 2. Yes they were. The coolant bypass valve is responsible for maintaining optimal engine temperature. With this part broken it, the engine can overheat as the coolant will not circulate through the radiator. 3. Yes. The toyota dealership informed us they see an unreal amount of people with faulty coolant bypass valves. It is an issue with the part. 4. It was inspected by the toyota dealership in round rock. 5. No there was nothing to indicate an issue. I only discovered the problem because i got a "engine maintenance required" warning on my dash.
Bad alignment causing front tires to wear abbormally.
Car in reverse and going forward when foot on gas the car will take off at a high speed. Need to hit brakes quick to stop the car. Could cause an accident if other cars are around or pedestrians walking. I nearly hit a building.
When i apply brakes sometimes the brake is released and i need to push the paddle hard to engage the brake again. Same thing happens sometimes on adaptive cruise control. It sometimes release the brake and i need to push the paddle to engage the brake.
"maintenance required visit your dealer" message came on at ~84k miles, continued to come on intermittently thereafter despite resetting maintenance reminder. Checked error codes and discovered issue was a faulty coolant bypass valve. Upon researching this issue, learned that numerous toyota owners have experienced the same issue on various years/models and that dealership service centers are well aware of the problem. Despite this, toyota has not issued any tsbs, or offered to compensate customers for replacement of this obviously defective part.
