The fuel pump design to last the life of the vehicle exploded this is a 10k fix they ( extended the warranty to 120000 miles instead of replacing the bad pumps im at 1290000 miles i don’t understand how this is acceptable given the amount of issues and occurrences the fuel pump has exploded
Atlas has led headlights - which should outlast the length of any car. First, the left low beam headlight failed. The following week the right low beam headlight failed. Took the car to vw. I was told that it would at least $5,000 to have operational headlights. I asked why led headlights failed when they are designed to outlast any foreseeable length of any vehicle. Vw refused to do any diagnostic work to determine if the cause of the led failure was due to an electrical issue. (reddit mentions a problem with electric switches that would cause led failure. ) the value of my atlas is double the cost to repair the headlights. It would appear this is an electronic issue. The manufacturer has said they will not help because they do not replace headlights. When i asked about the electronic aspect of the led lights, the vw representative acted like they had zero idea the led lights were controlled by electric switches. I cannot be the only consumer out there driving an atlas (only at night) because there is no value in investing $5k on headlights for a vehicle that is only worth $10k - and led lights should outlast the vehicle.
These recalls are old: february 7, may 5, and august 25 of last year. My local dealership, hansel volkswagen, 2951 corby ave, santa rosa, ca 95407 (1-707-578-1320), is unable to get the parts for these repairs from vw of america, even though wv of america is steadily building new cars. My 2021 id4 is still not repaired.

When driving the car, it will randomly stall, lose power or not accelerate. Sometimes the epc light and oil light will illuminate other times it gives no warning. It shut off on the interstate while going 72mph. I have taken it to the dealership since a month after i got it and they keep telling me nothing is wrong with it. I have to get oil changes every month despite not driving it much and the gas consumption is 3tines what it should be. I’m having to fill the tank up three times a week despite going to and from work which is 9 miles from my home. I have taken it to the dealership and had to pay $1000s of dollars only for it to start having the same issues within a week
Navigation system is useless. Constantly telling me i’m on a road i’m not actually on. Thousands of people with the same issue in forums online and vw does not appear to know how to fix. Seems to be a carplay/navigation issue. Maps are wrong regardless if phone is connected. Reset of infotainment only fixes problem for a few minutes. Currently it tells me i’m driving off road in the middle of a lake, although the car is currently parked in my driveway.
After parking vehicle in a parking lot, manipulated gear shift from drive to park. Left vehicle and continued business. When returning to parking lot, vehicle was no longer in the parking spot but had rolled backwards into the travel lane of the lot. Started vehicle and attempted to move but could not move gear shift lever to drive or reverse. Was then i noticed that while the gear shift lever was in the park position, the instrument cluster display indicated it was in neutral. Could not adjust gear shift at all. Had vehicle towed to shop and was informed the gear shift cable had broken. Vehicle was repaired however cable alone could not be replaced. Had to purchase complete gear shift lever assembly due to vw replacement parts policy.
After parking on a slope, front of car uphill, slope of about 15-20 degrees, placing car in park, the car would roll back once out of car. It happened once and went up against another car, minor scrape, but i was almost pinned. I moved the car to a different spot with similar slope, it happed again. The wheels were rotating, had to jump in passenger side and push hand onto brake. It had happened once before, but went up against a curb, but i had thought i had parked poorly. But in retrospect, likely rolled. Tried to call/contact vw, but it is a friday and they do not accept safety calls friday evening through tuesday.
The contact owns a 2014 volkswagen beetle. The contact stated while starting the vehicle, the contact became aware of a strong gasoline odor coming from the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the fuel lines failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 44,000. The vin was not provided.
This recall was issued in feb 2024 and there is still not a remedy available. Feb 14,2024 manufacturer recall number20uf nhtsa recall number24v110 recall statusrecall incomplete, remedy not yet available i am smelling gas in my car intermittently and this could be related to the recall. We need a remedy for this now. So i am issuing this complaint.
