When driving the car the gps looses its location making it impossible to proceed to a planned destination. It causes you to try to fix the issue while driving and locating a place to pull off the road. It has taken me to places were i did not want to go. The dealer can’t fix the problem.

2023 Volkswagen ID.4
  • Date of Incident: Mar-26, 2024
  • Date complaint filed: Mar-27, 2024
  • Failed components: UNKNOWN OR OTHER

Driver-side door opens and closes by itself while driving or when the car is stopped. Driver-side door also locks and unlocks itself while driving or when the car is stopped. Unable to unlock driver-side door from the outside of the car. Some times the driver side door will not open from the inside all the way. Before, this was just a frustrating inconvenience, but yesterday, it became a scary, safety hazard. I was stopped in the middle of the street during peak hour traffic at a green light unable to start my car because the driver-side door had opened itself, but i could not open the door all the way to close it and the car would not let me start because it thought the door was open. Even after i was finally able to open my door and tried to close it, the car still would not start. I had to try repeatedly to start the car back up before it finally started. This happened for several minutes while i had my small children in the backseat and other cars were honking around us and nearly hit us. I have told the dealership and taken the car to get serviced, but the part to fix the door is back ordered with an unknown delivery date. The dealership says that many of their 2023 id. 4 customers are facing the same door issue and they've reported their frustrations with vw headquarters. This needs to be investigated and vw should issue a formal recall.

2018 Volkswagen Passat
  • Date of Incident: Mar-02, 2024
  • Date complaint filed: Mar-27, 2024
  • Failed components: ENGINE

My oil sensor started blinking while i am driving. I stoped and added oil to the car because the level was in low level. Went to the dealership to check my car in if i do have leakage or if my engine did start to burn oil. They did suggest to come visit them after 600 miles which i did. And after check up they did end up saying yes your car did burn oil around 0. 25 quart. And i suggest you to come after 600 miles again. I need that issue to be fixed and they are wasting my time in this unnecessary procedure. It was confirmed that my engine burn oil and i have got extended warranty plus my car was always been serviced by the vw dealership.

2022 Volkswagen TAOS
  • Date of Incident: Mar-26, 2024
  • Date complaint filed: Mar-26, 2024
  • Failed components: SERVICE BRAKES

Rear brakes wore so rapidly they were deemed unsafe for driving by state inspection, down to under 2mm in a year. Volkswagen knew it was an issue and extended the warranty, but put such limitations on when they would cover the warranty they caused customers to drive on unsafe rear brakes before they would consider coverage.

2016 Volkswagen GOLF R

I'm not entirely sure what is wrong with the car but i was sitting in my car waiting for an appointment for about an hour. I backed out of my parking space and found that there was a large puddle of gas where i was parked. I moved back into the parking space and stopped the car. I found that there was a leak coming out of the rear passanger wheel well. I have pictures of the leak. This happened while sitting stationary in the car. No warning signals popped up but if the gas caught on fire my car would have been at risk. My little sister was in the car with me. It is available for inspection. Since the issue it has been sitting untouched at my mechanics.

Recall 23v215 has been open for a year with no remedy in sight. The vehicle's front passenger seat is critical to transporting my family from place to place as our other vehicle does not fit our entire family. We are forced to unsafely operate our vw atlas on occasion, significantly increasing risk of a family member being harmed in a collision scenario.

2017 Volkswagen GOLF ALLTRACK
  • Date of Incident: Mar-16, 2024
  • Date complaint filed: Mar-25, 2024
  • Failed components: ENGINE

Turbo wastegate actuator rod/flap failure/seizure. Vw dealership & independent service center both diagnosed the issue as a seized wastegate actuator flap/rod. This is due to poor design and is a common issue on all 2015-2020 vw/audi 1. 8l tsi engines. This issue causes intermittent engine codes for "low boost" related codes. P00af00 and similar codes without warning. A key cycle usually temporarily fixes the problem until under boost again. This prevents safe operation of the vehicle while on highways and freeways. Engine shaking & prevention of acceleration and shifting happens after the engine code occur and the car is put into a limp mode. It is unsafe to maneuver the vehicle to the side of the road during these events.
