The steering lock has miraculously failed and several other individuals have made this complaint. Vw advised this is a known issue but has not issued a recall to have this fixed. Instead, we are forced to pay thousands to fix their mistake when it came to manufacturing

2017 Volkswagen Passat
  • Date of Incident: Apr-21, 2024
  • Date complaint filed: Apr-21, 2024
  • Failed components: AIR BAGS, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, and STEERING

Our 2017 VW Passat had the clockspring replaced last year under warranty number VMP-18-11 at Barnes Crossing Volkswagen in Tupelo, MS. The airbag stopped working and safety features such as adaptive cruise control were also not available. Not realizing the airbag would NOT deploy in the event of an accident, Volkswagen asked us to drive an hour to have it repaired which was considerably dangerous. As of today the clockspring they replaced once again failed with the same associated problems. I am submitting a report due to how dangerous this problem is considering they supposedly fixed the issue however it seems multiple people have reported the issue coming back. The fact the airbag could stop working at anytime due to a defective clockspring is very troublesome and make me worry in the event of an accident if the clockspring will fail thus not allowing the airbag to deploy.

Brand new vw tiguan. The start stop system has failed since a month after i bought it. When i am stopped at a stoplight, stop sign or in traffic, often the vehicle will completely shut off and die. The dash displays a message that says must "manually restart". So then you have to put the car in park and press the engine start button again. This happens every few weeks at random since i've bought the car. I have had it into two different volkswagen dealerships for a total of four times. Volkswagen has not been able to fix the issue and in fact they say several times it has not even showed a code when they scan it. It's very very concerning that the vehicle computer/scanner isn't even picking up this issue!!! This is a huge safety concern as sometimes when the vehicle dies i am holding up traffic on the freeway or in intersections.

2024 Volkswagen ATLAS
  • Date of Incident: Apr-19, 2024
  • Date complaint filed: Apr-19, 2024
  • Failed components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

I am reaching out to you with urgent news regarding a concerning situation involving volkswagen and a dangerous malfunction in their vehicles. After purchasing a brand-new volkswagen atlas from ken garff in gilbert az, i have encountered persistent malfunctions in the vehicle's technology, particularly the apple carplay feature and the integrated navigation system. These malfunctions have not only posed a significant safety risk while driving but have also severely diminished the usability and value of the vehicle. Even more alarming is volkswagen's response to this issue. Despite numerous attempts to address the problem with both the dealership and volkswagen customer service, i have been informed that a fix for these malfunctions will not be available until at least 2025. This is an unacceptable timeline for resolving a safety issue that puts drivers and passengers at risk every time they get behind the wheel. Furthermore, volkswagen sold the vehicle with full knowledge of the malfunctioning features, yet failed to disclose this crucial information during the purchase process. This lack of transparency is deeply concerning and raises serious questions about volkswagen's commitment to customer safety and satisfaction. The map spins while i’m driving, and directs me to turn on roads that don’t exist in my current location, causing me to be distracted and attempt to turn where there are no turns available. The dealership has verified the issue, confirms vw is aware and says there is no fix. When i called vw customer service, they said a fix wouldn’t be available until 2025 at the earliest.
