VIN: 1VWCA7A32LC006863 Dealership: Vanguard Volkswagen 6900 Burnet Rd Austin, TX 78757 I bought 2020 Passat back in Aug 2020 with CarNet included. It was showing that CarNet will be installed later when available at no cost. So in 2021 they installed carnet and everything was working fine up until 2024. The light turned off and no connection to the car. I called CarNet and they told me that most likely an issue with HW module and suggested to take to the dealer to get reset/replaced. Went to the dealer few days ago. Left them a car for 3 days for diag. No fault codes. So dealer sent a ticket to the Volkswagen to see how to proceed. I got a call from dealership today that Volkswagen responded to them that 2020 Passat is no longer eligible for the CarNet. Excuse me? At the time of sale CarNet was included. It was working fine no issues. And now Volkswagen taking car feature away that it came with and I paid for..
Airbag error message and light went on- this is a recall in my same model and year, my vin should be included in this recall
On april 19, 2024, i took this vehicle to galpin vw for service on the collision warning system which began to malfunction on a daily basis and would spontaneously come on multiple times throughout the day, without any other vehicles in front of me nor around me. The service advisor at this service center, pedro silva, declared to me and my wife that this vehicle was unsafe to drive and stated that he is in contact with vw and their engineering department which instructed to run additional tests on this vehicle. This vehicle now has been in service for this same issue for 6 days and running, including the previous attempt to fix this same issue at winn vw earlier in the week, which failed to result in any correction. The galpin advisor further stated that he can not release the vehicle to us in this condition and must continue working on this serious issue in which we agreed, since we can not accept such a vehicle in this extremely dangerous condition.
Engine stalled while operating the vehicle. Engine would not start after stalling. Vehicle had to be towed.
The contact owns a 2016 volkswagen golf gti. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormally strong gasoline odor coming from the exhaust. The contact stated that while attempting to fill the tank, the tank failed to accept more than a half tank of fuel. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 24v110000 (fuel system, gasoline) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The dealer was contacted and diagnosed the vehicle with a failure of the fuel pump which was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but was unable to confirm when the part would be available. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000. Vin tool confirms parts not available.
Emissions system on engine has premature failures following the tdi scandal modifications, causing the coolant system to fail prematurely. Have had 2 heater cores clogged in the past 3 years, resulting in egr failures, impacting emissions and potential engine overheats.
The abs or aes malfunctioned while driving. The brakes were automatically applied, without warning, with a medium amount of traffic and vehicles behind me. This poses a significant safety issue to myself and others when the brakes get applied without warning. A vehicle behind me had to swerve to avoid rear-ending me and others had to go around me on an onramp to the highway. I am taking my vehicle to volkswagen of waco today to have this issue looked at. I am also looking into a dashcam to see if i can get the issue on camera in case the dealership isn't able to duplicate the issue. This issue has occurred other times, this has not been an isolated incident. I do get a faulty brake booster light while the vehicle is braking so there is no warning before it happens, just me flying into my steering wheel.
The steering lock has miraculously failed and several other individuals have made this complaint. Vw advised this is a known issue but has not issued a recall to have this fixed. Instead, we are forced to pay thousands to fix their mistake when it came to manufacturing
Our 2017 VW Passat had the clockspring replaced last year under warranty number [XXX] at Barnes Crossing Volkswagen in Tupelo, MS. The airbag stopped working and safety features such as adaptive cruise control were also not available. Not realizing the airbag would NOT deploy in the event of an accident, Volkswagen asked us to drive an hour to have it repaired which was considerably dangerous. As of today the clockspring they replaced once again failed with the same associated problems. I am submitting a report due to how dangerous this problem is considering they supposedly fixed the issue however it seems multiple people have reported the issue coming back. The fact the airbag could stop working at anytime due to a defective clockspring is very troublesome and make me worry in the event of an accident if the clockspring will fail thus not allowing the airbag to deploy. Brand new vw tiguan. The start stop system has failed since a month after i bought it. When i am stopped at a stoplight, stop sign or in traffic, often the vehicle will completely shut off and die. The dash displays a message that says must "manually restart". So then you have to put the car in park and press the engine start button again. This happens every few weeks at random since i've bought the car. I have had it into two different volkswagen dealerships for a total of four times. Volkswagen has not been able to fix the issue and in fact they say several times it has not even showed a code when they scan it. It's very very concerning that the vehicle computer/scanner isn't even picking up this issue!!! This is a huge safety concern as sometimes when the vehicle dies i am holding up traffic on the freeway or in intersections.
